  • Anyone remember a game called Skool Daze? that and Dan Dare?

    Brilliant innocent days they were

  • I fucking loved this game as a young boy.. for me it was the original GTA. When i look at it now however i do not wish to try it again as you have shown me enough for a good old look back at how i wasted many hours of my pre-pubesant childhood. I allways wished for games to be as good as GTA IV and now that they are I find myself wanting even BETTER still!!. It just ghows you how we take gaming for granted these days and how fast the gaming world evolved as compared to other things like Cars

  • I hope Mark Bradford doesn't see this!!!!! Argh Rage :D

  • amazing game . looking at this now you can see it was years ahead of its time.

  • Wow! that's all i can say! Apart from the baddie car used to dissapear into a dead end if you lost it. you drove into the dead end and it was gone.

Still the best game for the spec. with real crossings and traffic lights. ah good times before we were spoilt with great graphics and little else!

  • the red cars don't blow up when you shoot them, you have to just bump them til they submit.

  • Yaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwn...

  • Does this game come in HD?

  • It has been my favorite game in the past. Many hours of my childhood passed for this game. Thanks for this nostalgic memories!

  • @Multmaniac Dont know about HD but its on he Iphone zx emulator

  • This game was awesome but I've been looking for it for ages.

Another game very similar to this was I think a sort of stunt challenge game where you used various items to get further in the level. The only thing I can remember about it for sure was that there was a battering ram weapon you could buy and the icon was a ram's horns. Anyone know what this game is?

  • @flakelorenz02 You are talking about Overlander, I think.

  • @mcklain You are right! Thank you so much I never thought I'd play that game again. I remembered the sheep head for ram alright.

  • @flakelorenz02 Yeah, me too. The battering ram was the ultimate clue :)

  • I bought this game from a car boot sale when i was a kid for about 50 pence best value for money i ever spent.

  • Bought the budget re-release. Would play for it hours on end. Great game..the GTA of its time

  • Oh, and waiting ages for it to load with that horrible noise was well worth it.... Even if it crashed in the lady few seconds quite often!

  • Brilliant. The hours I spent driving around trying to get those red cars. It was brilliant in it's day- not only 3D but the cars had indicator lights!!!! Had to fill up with fuel. Oh, and shooting the red cars took ages, but you could shoot once at a black car and it would disintegrate!!!! And , oh yeah, it had a map!!!

Without this you wouldn't have GTA today. We had people walking the streets back then... But not with attitude and our driver couldn't get out his car!!!! Love it!

  • By the way, look at CPC and C64 versions. They SUCK big time! Speccy rulez.

  • i had this oh the hours i spent chasing those red cars around

  • I was too young (or stupid) at the time to have a clue how to play this game, so I just used to drive around a lot. Apparently it had something to do with drugs raids. What did I know?

  • @GrandDizzy Exactly, me too :) I just loved that I can drive the car on a "realistic" city road :)

  • So cool just like the real thing it needed re-fuelling often!!

  • 1986 - nice

  • So this is the game that GTA cloned.

  • I had the CPC 464 version.

    What fun, back then.

C15 Cassettes of copied games for the win.

  • yes this game kicked arse. That spastic machine gun that fired from the far side of the car, running over all the stick people, sreeching around the corners. GTA eat yr heart out!!...20years and I have never forgotten it. Take me to the 1980's in my after life!!

  • This was my favorite game on ZX. As a kid I just saw all this streets come to live, I felt as if I was really driving a car. And that's amazing, what a imagination we have as children. Good days...

  • this were a brill game i loved to just drive around and i loved stopping at pelicon crossing and waiting for the ppl to start crossing then see them run when i moved, brill game

  • i rememer this! i used to play it for hours 1986? i was 13! great stuff thanks

  • This game is an all time classic IMO, used to play this for hours with my brothers using 2 joysticks for the controls.

  • One of my fav games ever. That tune brought it all back. Durell (The makers) are still on the go! Thanks for posting

  • Really..really cool game

  • Attribute colour clash and everything. God I miss the spectrum! Great days.

  • this is amazing

  • quality game!

  • El precursor del GTA!!
