  • How has yours healed? I have residual trauma in so much as the toes dont bend and the ankle is stiff and painful. I generally ignore it though and it sort of lets me. I still have the metal rod through the shinbone. Back training hard now too. I could have done with two rounds to shake off the cobwebs.

  • @aidanpiers does the metal rod make your kicks hurt more?

  • I used to kickbox for my county and even went over to thialand, but i broke my leg exactly how you did. Theres no way to stop it,its just the power of the kick against a rockhard muscle. Its an awesome thing to take up butpisstaking when stuff like this happens. It looked like a good fight in round one though. :)

  • Jesus, that happened even with shin guards on? I might need to take it easy with my power kicks.

  • Man, im so sorry that this happened to you! This is one tough injury!! It has taken you a year to recover?

  • Question... do u know why this happnens? doesnt happen ofter with the sport? and how do ppl prevent it ?

  • @kaindrg

yes,it happen often. its usually happens when the powerful kick against the leg snaps the bone clean. Theres no way to prevent it other than quitting which isnt an option if youre the best of the best. Round one looked a clean fight,it was just the kick that did the accident. hope that helped:)

  • To avoid this, choose your targets when doing leg kicks. This was an amatuer fight and I was keeping poiints up. Watch my pro fights and you will see a massive difference in the quantity of leg kicks and the timing. I must have caused a hair line fracture in the first round and the hard lef kick four kicks into the second round will have snaped it at that point. Conditining will mainly turn down the pain volume but will of course help. Good luck with yoiur fights.

  • AWH GOD

Will training shin strangth help me avoid this

  • he should drink more milk

  • erm shit this scares the shit out of me i learn muay thai and honestly seeing this i get the chills everytime i kick something

  • who the hell is that at 2:46, lol so weird.. d sounds...

  • to see the leg break go to 2:35

  • shit just try and imagine that was u it dont bear thinking about and what makes it worse is that he put his foot down n put all his weight on it n u see it all bend up all i can say is FUCKING OUCH

  • I don't know whether to like or dislike this. On one hand, it was frickin' cool and exciting. On the other hand, it's not cool than your shin snapped.

  • Ahhh.. made me cringe...

  • Damn, that was crazy random my friend. You were doing quite well too, I hope you are feeling better after that. Much love for what you do. I'm eager to get in that ring.

    Signed, A fellow kick boxer.

P.S Hope your back in there doing what you do.

  • wow but 2:54 that idiot you fighted dont care looks like he likes it

  • @mrilovepets i know! haha what a cunt he is

  • Oh that looked bad, but you guys were throwing a lotttttt of kicks to the shins and kicking with the shins as well. I fight mma style now, but I dont throw kicks like that, i throw them more to the body and dont use my shin when kicking. Hope your leg healed up tho

  • thats a shame, u were fighting very well....by the looks of it, i take it you used to fight pro fights. Did you have damage to your right leg before, because its hard to believe it just broke even with padding on....get well soon friend

  • thats bad mate hope its mending

  • Hi, My Brother Was In The Same Competition You Were, Check Out My Channel, Hes On There

  • Damn, thats sad and freaks me out.... hope you will be ok.. i am a kickboxer too... well im just a kid yet...17 years... but how did u broke it .... i dont want it to happen to me too :S ...

  • Too many consecutive low kicks and kicking too hard to the legs. Should have kept the low kicks just as point scorers and would have been OK. Use the power kicks to body and head & you'll be fine and have fun. Thanks for watching and commenting buddy.

  • Aidan mate what can i say devo d for ya there looked well up until that point ,and u lookd sharp on the debut fight aswll if your ever in brum feel free to pop into utc has to be one of the best gyms in the uk always holding seminars etc with UFC main card fighters etc !!!

  • Hi Aidan, Julie here, happy new year to you! Managed to find this video finally. I don't think I can watch it again, that was mad!! I'm gonna have to show George though :-)

Hope you are keeping well, take care!!

  • Happy New Year Julie. Well its all healing up well & not using crutches now either. Should be back at the Gym training one way or another within a couple of months. Just swimming, Cycle machine & Cross trainer at the moment. See ya soon.

  • i feel sorry for you

    how are you now ?

  • Thats kind to ask. Well very good actually been hobbling without crutches for a week It seems strong but having to build my muscles & its very restricted movement. I'm happy but surgeon says wait a year from now before thinking about fighting again. May have to have the metalwork out by operation first and got to pick the fitness back from being immobile for months. Still, I guess half planet earths population would give their right arm to swap places so I'm not complaining :o) Do you train?

  • @aidanpiers I'll give you a Muay Thai tip. Its been a year so maybe you've already heard this from someone else. When you throw leg kicks, come down like an Axe at an angle rather than a straight line to the leg.

Impact between the weakest part of your shins and the strongest part of his shin are higher when you kick straight to the leg. Its a bit quicker yes, but its less effective and dangerous for you or anyone who throws legs kicks like that. Good luck hope you make a come back.

  • ouch!

  • he broke his shin even though he had protection?

    beginning stages of osteoporosis

  • Yo Mike, the protection cushions bruises unfortunately the only support to a break they give is to keep it alighned when its broken :o(

You can see it bounce back up as I went to my back.

  • yo aidan

    I ask you some questions

how did you condition your shins?

what is your daily training workout?

what is your diet, relationships with milk, and milk products?

    by the way

    amazing video

    LOL

    aahaahahahahahhahaahahhahahaahahahahahahahaha

  • First of all, I'm really sorry to see that. Must have been quite horrible, the pain, the immobilisation, the one year hiatus from training and all. I'm into Kyokushin, we don't wear any protection I have the same question as GarryJJ.

I have seen videos of masters breaking massive ice blocks without any problems and besides the other guy's shin was fine. Did you like over exert yourself and kick him too hard?

    Hope you get well soon.

  • I agree James and he will.

It gets worse everytime I see it even worse cornering him and hearing it actually break. Ouch!!!

Star man look forward to having you back in the team bud at what ever level :o)

  • When u see these kind of breaks on you tube there is an element of detachment ( I don't mean ur leg) because u don't know the person this isn't the case now I know this guy and what a geeza will always bounce back stronger in someway or another. If you don't decide to fight again ur knowledge and experience will be worth loads to alot of people . James
