Dont get it.

It looks nice and would be a great unit, if it did what it was built to do.

I dont know if it was build flaws or OS flaws, but I was experiencing malfunctions of different types everywhere.

Including but not limited to the echo, the pitch controls and the RCA outs.

They'll answer emails quickly, but they wont offer any answers other than directing you to DL the manual.

The website has not been updated in 2 years and they dont support the OS upgrade function.

I have had this for ages never crashes - great scratch - good flanger effect - probably the ipod is to blame if a crash would occur - i use usb pen drives more

I want a dj product like this- inexpensive, light, but a reliable one. I've read up alot about it crashing constantly... Whats up with that? Also i found a couple other products like it...The Numark idj2 or the Gemini CDMP-5000 do you have suggestions?

dont buy n e of those. they are like playing w/ childs toys. save up if ur gonna get a controller for the vci-800 $800-900. or there is a numark thing that's $1,200 stand a lone mixer w/ two mini 45 lookin mock records. for your midi to pc approach. if u got turn tables then go for the scratch rane / serato package w/ the premo mixer. that controls your on screen setup.

the dmix 600 has effects in that box below ipod above channel faders, the 300 is lacking in the filter, flanger, and one other effect

Yes! Only the mp3 and WAVE, no AAC+ or wma

I think buy this dmix but I think that this dmix is a dmix to hiphop music and it is not good for electronic music but I think that this will be good if it has more efects!!

Actually, there is no difference.. you'll still be able to play electronic dance (house, techno , trance & freestyle) with Cortex DMIX Ipod DJ and if u would like to add effects on the machine, buy separate effects machine like Pioneer EFX 500 or 1000 or other brand sound effects cheaper than Pioneer

You can use any USB storage device on the Dmix.

Yes, as long as you hook it up via USB. But really, if you have a laptop, you don't need a dmix. There are countless MIDI and USB consoles that work with a laptop.

i would think those jog wheels are way too small to scratch. I like the cortex 5000 size though. You can kinda see them in this video
