@polevaulters1 hmmm, do you have a recovery installed? if so take out the battery and boot into the recovery. Then pick a rom of your choosing and falsh it (flash it again for good luck) Hope you get it fixed!

Will this root method make the phone run faster? Save battery? That is the two main problems with my Intercept...super laggy and poor battery so I'm wondering if this root will help. Or is there additional things you must do after rooting to improve those areas?

@joshsloth No, rooting won't affect performance at all.. You have to install Clockworkmod aand flash a custom rom to affect that.

I did this but after I went back to the app clicked on flash cm 01 and my phone turned off and won't boot up, it can go into download mode but my comp won't recognize it. Also recovery doesn't work

I'm new to rooting my phone. I bought the Samsung intercept last week at Best Buy for $79 with a $35 VM airtime card. Can you beat that? This is a backup phone that I use strictly for the unlimited data (T-Mobile throttles me down to dial-up speeds when I reach my 5GB data cap) and because VM/Sprint has better coverage than TMo.

My question is this. My version of Android is 2.2.2. Have you done this root on an Android 2.2.2 device?
