  • i'm not a professional, but i was always curious what a projection booth looked like. thanks!

  • top loop is too small fix it!!! lol

  • LOL it's a little late for that, but thanks anyway :)

  • Is your Booth haunted, or scary?. Where I work I hear voices, and footsteps when I'm down in the theaters checking for sleepers after hours. Also everyone is gone.

  • God, that would be freaky. So what would your job title be then?

  • Be careful...I was forced to delete all my videos by corporate...they had me pinned for firing...Plus at some points...you can see the movie screen on yours which I was told was automatic firing..if they find your video

  • Well hopefully they don't! Keep your fingers crossed for me ;)

  • How late do you have to stay?, I had to stay till 1 a.m and had to kick out a few sleeping drunks in the theaters. Also Where is The theater you work at located.

  • I stay until the last show drops, usually about 1 am or so. I wait about 10 mins after that for the lamp to cool. LOL I've had to kick out sleeping bums too. This particular theatre is in Ft. Worth, TX.

  • Cool, I work at Farmington, NM., and we no longer use 35 MM instead we use Christie Digital Projections, it gets boring when the movie starts on its own. How long have you been a Projectionist?

  • christie digitals are boring man. we have two. and a digital imax.

just play and go, haha. do you ingest the movies and create the playlist too? or does your projection manager take care of that?

  • christie platters are great

  • I could not agree more!

  • Going on 6 years in April!

  • I am also a projectionist where I work. Hey did you ever have to cancel a show because of getting a brain wrap or a malfunctioning platter, or a bad splice.

  • I've never had a wrap bad enough to cancel a show. You have to be quick about fixing it, and you can get back on screen in a minute, sometimes less. Same with bad splices.

A malfunctioning platter is a diff story. If you can fix it quicky, great, but most times you'll have to move the print and call a tech.

But I honestly can't remember the last time I've lost a show for any reason.

  • Dude that is amazing! My theatre has the same platter system + brains, but our projectors are different.

  • ive been at that theater i took a pair of inspection gloves and yellow splice tape
