  • Im running a Corsair Force 3 120 GB for Battlefield 3, WoW, and Starcraft 2. It's awesome. I recommend everyone disable hybernation and move the page file to another drive to free up lots of space on the SSD.

  • Ssd 13 seconds, hdd 37 seconds, combined : 1337

  • i have Sata 2.. i think... (not 3) and i want a sdd for battlefield, can anyone let me know if i should just buy a cheep sata2 or go for a sata 3... will i get sata3 speeds?

    what are some suggestions?

i want fast, and i only need ~80gb

  • @nnaatthhaannx2 Just go a head and buy a SATA 3 SSD. It is backwards compatible with SATA 2. Also there is litterally NO difference in speed between SATA 2 and SATA 3 (look at a review done by Tom's Hardware). But I say just purchase an SATA 3 SSD because if you ever do buy a SATA 3 mobo then you can make full use of SATA 3. And no plugging a SATA 3 SSD into a SATA 2 port will not give you SATA 3 speeds. Hope I helped.

  • SSD's are for people who have the money to buy a 2nd one after the first dies like a battery, or simply for ones that doesnt do much shit other than starting the PC and browsing the web. A friend of mine had a an Intel SSD, he was happy about it, then after 4months, everything fucked up. He got BSOD's, fuckload of corrupted filex, bios recognizing the SSD problems, etc. If you people want speed and durability, get a Velociraptor HDD!! and who cares about BF3 SP??

  • @MegaZerOTV 4months with a SSDs? then it was clearly broken from the start. they last much longer than that, especially the newer ones.

  • lol, imagine if you die so many times and you have to go through this amount on time for waiting for the hdd every time :P

  • @bilalthedude no see that is what I want to see ... respawn point wait times cuz most servers make you wait before you can get back into action so I don't think it will be significant with this

  • @DeViLzzz2006 oh, ok

  • Thanks alot! Im debating if i will get 80GB space or 120GB, what i need are W7 64bit ultimate, bf3, swtor and gw2 in the future.

  • @JayMK47 def get 120gb much cheaper nowadays. In Australia 120gb SATA II is ~$170-190 and SATA III is ~$190-220. 80GB is only aout $20-40 cheaper.

  • Takes so long to load multiplayer servers too.. SSD would be nice..

  • Mine takes around 3-5 minutes to load. Damn it.

  • @KedViper get more RAM, it shouldn't take that long even on HDD. 8GB is advisable for this game.

  • @dirtydog413 I do have eight and 7 64-bit but it might only utilize 6 i think.

  • I run this battleifled on my new SSD, its fuckd up.. all different errors and whitescreen + lag u can imagine. my samsung f3 spinpoint pwns it hard

  • If you didn't know, SSDs tends to corrupt faster than HDDs. My bro is a computer tech so he knows more stuff than i do.

  • @gunnery18 totally agree my Vertex II lasted only around 9 months before it was unbearably slow. Even updating the firmware and reinstalling windows didn't help.

  • Hey, If I have a ssd and another harddrive, and i want to have bf3+origin on my other harddrive.. how do i make so i can use it? it says like "this program can't start because msvcp100.dll is missing" etc

  • @MageDb0w :/ works fine for me. Try reinstalling.

  • I love ssd!

  • Is 128gb enough for windows 7 plus a couple games (500+ read/write)

  • @crazychainsaw007 That does vary on how many games you plan on installing, but yeah it should be fine. I put pretty much all much applications + OS and BF3 on there and still have around 50GB remaining. The only thing I can't put on is Steam (too many games). To answer your question, 128GB is enough if it's not many games.

  • @timtam35gtr Use a program called steam mover, this will allow you to split the games into two folders. I know this reply is late but hopefully it helps.

  • Takes me 5-6 seconds with SATA 3 - Same SSD too.

  • Im grabbing one friday srsly.. must have these days lols

  • Got it installed on my Corsair 64GB SSD. It loads so much faster than it used to, granted my new 2500K probably helps with that too.

  • Thanks for the video. I'm getting a new computer tomorrow with an SSD and I was wondering if it would be worth installing BF3 on it. 20GB is a lot of space to devote to one game, but it should be worth it.

  • @Mirrors997 The other thing I want to show but I don't have the software to do it is the battlelog side of BF3. Yes, it's worth it.

  • CANT WAIT FOR MY pay day to pick up an ssd!!!!!!!!! <3

  • I also use SSD. When i waiting in the Heli for a gunner, my mates are connecting to server :D
