I don't like to be mean, but I feel like a loser, especially since MS and Lupus have alot in common, my mom has MS, and what tends to be true for one and the other tend to have alot in common anyways. @booksforever824 Actually, there are 100+ times more foundations out there to help people with MS than there are for Lupus. Lupus is what people refer to as the "invisible disease" not to mention the fact it often goes misdiagnosed & takes an avg of 5+yrs to get diagnosed. Then when diagnosed, it's almost impossible to get on disability when it becomes debilitating. There are a limited few foundations and organizations to help Lupus suffers than just about any disease out there..

I didn't mean to come across as somewhat callous toward other causes; it's just that I've had a really rough few yrs due to Lupus (SLE)/Sjogren's & it's ever-complicating presence when it comes to my limitation of sight. It's bad enough to barely have light perception but even worse when you can't keep your eyes moist & you stay sick or in pain so much of the time. I'm in the mod to severe stages. The only good thing is it's not hit the vital organs - as far as we know

@lorena0507 It's been approx 20yrs since I began losing my sight & 10yrs since Lupus (SLE)/Sjogren's turned my life upside down. There's more bad days than good, esp coming out of a winter season aka cold/flu season. I want nothing more than to feel normal again & not to have to worry about being in crowds or around children w/the viruses, infections, colds, etc.. where any # of these could put me in the hospital, if not the ICU or worse. I'm tired of the joint disease, nerve damage, & etc...

God Bless you Howie, I have had Lupus for 34 yrs, and against all odds I gave birth to a beautiful daughter 17 yrs. ago. I live in a very small rural area in Maryland,and had a very hard time being diagnosed. Keep up the great work and spread the word.

my sister has lupus and all her hair is basically falling out. her hair is so thin and stringy it's really sad. perhaps the saddest thing about it is that she wants to have a kid before anything bad happens. she was just recently pregnant with twins and she had a miscarriage. she cant get out of the first trimester in a pregnangcy. the last miscarriage was her sixth or seventh. to all those who believe in Christ, please pray for my sister

my sister passed away from lupus may 12 2008 she was 27,she had 2 boys and a wonderfull husband.Lupus ravaged every part of her body,she looked she was 50.People made rude comments about her in front of her.May god forgive them because i cant.R.I.P.SARAH JANE

It's a tough sad part of my life but I have learned to live with it and have found love in Motorsports to help me cope with my hectic and sometimes depressing life. I have been dealing with Lupus for almost 2 1/2 years so far. I'm 24 and it's a very hard thing to live with from time to time.
