Thats the same reason Soundgarden split. He wanted a more mainstream sound, and the rest of the band (particularly Thayil) wanted to stay with their grunge roots.

Chris C live was one of the best concerts I have seen. They played A LOT of soundgarden songs, and they were spot on. Unbelievable energy, and reminded me of what rock was about. Not sure how his new stuff will be, but him on project revolution truly was a great experience.
