@SgtSimp111 the add on is just for the old ps3 fat that supports ps2 games so that some games that need hard disk space can be saved on ps3 hardrive like final fantasy 11 its useless for slims and fats unless u wanna play certain hddd necessary ps2 titles... all other reg ps2 games play on the ps3 fat using virtual memory card to save.

@gtagamehelper For me this is true, I got my ps 3 used from game stop. I don't have any info on it cause it did not come with a owners book. The only thing I got on it is its serial # CG918885980-CECH-2501B. I do not know the GB I just know its the fat model. I did run 1 online update but I could run ps 1 games on it form the first time I used it. I did not run any backward updates. I'm hoping someone out there can help me out! There's the seial # ^^^^^^^^^^^^ can anyone help??????

Ok first

1. This will not work on ps3 slims.

2. It only works on the old old fat ps3 like when they first came out in 2006. Newer fat ps3 were made without supporting the ps2 thing.

And 3. The fat ps3 were discoutinued.

Does that clear up everything?

I've a better solution to play ps2 games on your ps3. Turn on your ps3. Get your ps2 put it on top of your ps3, plug it in and you're good to go!!!

Holy shit how dumb are you fuck nuggets.. read the description of the add-on in the PS Store. It's for PS2 games that require HDD e.g. FF XI etc. You need a backwards compatible PS3 to play PS2 discs. Only other ways you can play PS2 games on non-backwards compatible PS3 is the ones you can only buy through the PSN store. Jesus goddammit. Go read a book or something. God !
