I use Spybot - search and destroy, it's free and i havent had any problems cuz it takes care of ane spyware/malware that infects my computer without me knowing. (Microsoft security Essentials is also an excellent free antivirus)
Doesn´t work, what I did was to get Peer Block, and stop the connection,it has a relative degree of success,I still can´t stop him from sometimes changing the web page, but my net is much faster.
Ok, I have two of these viruses and I ran Malwarebytes and it found the viruses. I then removed them. However once I did that my browser wouldn't connect to the internet. How can I fix this problem???

Not true! My wife has a netbook with Windows 7 that is infected and I scanned it using MalwareBytes. It found 2 locations in the registry and prompted me to quarantine/remove it them then proclaimed that the files were now deleted. But when I ran the the scan again several times, it kept finding the trojan again! It doesn't work.
hey, I have tried numerous scans including malware bites tds killer spyware program mcafee scan so many things and nothing seems to helps can youu please help me please
Hello, thank you for sharing your information. I have the DNSChanger virus but it pops right back up when Malwarebites removes it. This particular version will not allow my computer to update anything for its health...ie: antivirus or windows updates. Would you possibly have anything else to offer as a suggestion? I would appreciate it so very much.. Donna
You need to reset it, or delete the dns cache. Put 192.168.1.1 in your address bar, and log into your router. Usually the username and pass are not there so just press enter or something. Or username admin, password is password. Then go in there and do your stuff, work your magic.
folks if you want to pick all of the Trojans up and get rid of them change the name of the anti-malwarebytes to Kioskea.exe. instead of the normal name.
@OnixTeamC make sure you do it in safe mode and delete temporary intenet files, turn of system restore because the trojans are useing that to come in the computer again
It got rid of it for good...be careful when using it though...follow all the instructions....turn off you virus protection close all running apps etc...It really did a good job at removing it once and for all....good luck
Also rememeber that this little nasty will keep coming back if you dont unplug and reset reset your router, before performing a malware scan in safe mode.
Rebuild your router settings but this time use a new password. What a hassle huh!
another tip...if your malware bytes can't open or retrieve updates..try this...copy the malwarebytes.exe (found in program files) to the same directory...rename it to xxx.exe...leave the existing file there but double click..xxx.exe ...the program will open.
To get the update to work you may also have to go to control panel / Administrative tools / Services and then double clich DNS Client and change the start up to "disabled" this will allow you to retrieve updates
U must change the passwords on your computer and donnot online banking if you are infected. please do it when the computer is afert a new installation or the combofix says that the computer is not infected anymore.
I got blocked to some certain sites ,too besides malwarebytes website. Then I fixed my computer with avast. I was able to go to the malwarebytes website now. I downloaded it and it scanned my computer. It found a virus called trojan.dns changer. I removed it but suddenly I scanned my computer again and it found the virus again. I don't know what to do. I tried disabling my connection first and then scanning my computer but still didn't work. What happen?
OMG! TopGunMan. Yes that happens to me. I cant acess any Spyware or Malaware sites and i cant download any new updates. But Malaware bytes does not work for all of them tho. I had only 4 then it turned into 6 and they keep reappearing so Malaware Bytes does NOT ALWAYS completly remove them.
Try running your computer in safe mode and then running this program. By running your computer in safe mode no other programs will run. you can check these programs by going to your task manager and clicking processes.
You need to make sure your Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is updated, unplug the internet connection to your computer and any computer hooked to that router is infected with this dns changer, run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware while disconnected from the internet on all those computers, reset the router, clone mac address in the router settings and connect back to the internet run malwarebytes again and you should be clean from the dns changer
Ha! I destroyed it. Download, install, and quickscan with MBAM, then restart. All anti-mal program updates working, no symptoms of dns changer anymore!
Hi , I have a question and i hope you could help me out.. When i use "google" to do a search, the results of the search sends me to another webpage.. After some websurfing I found people on fourms saying to use "Superantispyware" and "Malwarebytes" and they both found alot of stuff, but it still didnt fix the problem.. I also looked to see if the "TDSSserv.sys" file was on my PC and it wasent. ?????
I also got this but with a twist. It didn't change the DNS setting in my Internet Protocol properties. I didn't seem to have problems with any web sites BUT none of my Virus checkers could find their update sites. I tryed AVG, F-Prot and Spybot S&D. I then tried Malewarebytes but the main site was unaccessible but there was a second site that did work. This seems to be a nasty attack where none of the free virus checkers update sites are accessible.
This is exactly what im experiencing. This trojan will not go away no matter how many times you try to remove it with MalWare. it seems another trojan is trying to install this trojan.
it also found "VirtuMonde.c" another registry one. do you know anything about this? Do you have a messenger i can speak to you on? I really think you might be able to help me and i want to get rid of this so bad! i've ran so many programs already. I have AIM and MSN/Windows Live.
Hey Act2Scene5, I appreciate the video.. but i want to ask if you have any more tips? Every time I run malewarebytes, it finds 6 entries of the Trojan.DNSChanger.. so i quarantine/delete and restart the pc. Then every time after the initial restart, I have no internet access. I restart again, then i have it. But I'll do another scan and all 6 are back. This has happened countless times.. and I even tried the "How To Remove Spyware Heavy-Duty Removal Kit." video of yours. Please, any more ideas?
Just thought I best add my thanks fro this video as I have successfully removed that Trojan.DNSChannger using Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware!!!Thank you so much for posting this video!! I now have my laptop back to normal again, well, bar my keyboard which got hit a few times!!! :P
Did you update it? If not, click on the updates tab and click update. Sometimes it will fail (because of the trojan blocking the internet), but sometimes the internet will work for about 20 minutes, so try and update it then.
I had the same problem, but this is what I did; I just clicked the update button several times on BOTH website domains to make sure it was fully updated. Run a scan and you should find the trojan. Remove the trojans and restart your computer. Then when your computer's back up, scan again, delete the trojan and restart. Then it should be gone, it worked for me :)
I tried Malwarebytes, and it does detect the trojan and it says that it'll delete it, but when I go back to the internet after restarting, I'm still getting the trojan's effects. I'd appreciate any advice, thanks.

If your PC is infected with the Trojan.DnsChanger and Malwarebytes can't fix the it because it has some rootkits that mbam can't see, so use Combofix.
Combofix will help ya good, it destroys all about the DNS Changer.
But da best way is a new installation of the PC, the DNS Changer can read your Passwords and send this to very suspect peoples ...
