I am a new subscriber, and I have been natural for some years now. To me my hair takes long to grow. I have had it in braids a couple times, but I an ready to try something new. I do twist my own hair also from time to time.
I have a question, I wanted to know if you could co-wash your hair with these twist. Do you co-wash your twist? Also can you show us the method to maintaining the look of the twist? I know you stated that you workout alot and I am just wondering how you maintain the shinyness and neatness of your twist from day to day or week to week. Thanks
how long sis it take for your hair to get to this length? im almost a year natural now yay!!!!!!!!!!! i cant wait for this length.my hair seems to all or a sudden haite braids and love two strand twists.when i try the 3 strand braids my head hurts and itches like crazy but with two strand twists its bliss lol.i love it.
Which method do you prefer... the twist from root to end or the braid to twist? Which one lasts longer, gives better results... Sorry if this has already been answered... I searched for the video and I could not find it.
FYI I love this style and recently did it on my hair but!!!!!.... This was soooooooo hard to take out like omg very very hard to take out ( I have shorter hair) ... I still love this style tho lol..

ive been watching ur videos and TheArtisticGemini's videos too. im mixed and got soft afro hair...I was just wondering yh..did u ever get dandruff when growing your hair. And if you did then how did u get rid of it...coz the last time i was growing ma hair i use to get dandruff sometimes so i had enough and cut it all off lol...but anywayz...could u just tell me how to get rid of it if u have dandruff on long hair like yours? thanks man
I really like your braid/twist method. I was so concerned about doing twists because I do not want them to unravel or become too loose. Thank you so very much!
how often do you blow dry? i want to stop using braid extensions and blow drying. I think it's preventing me from reaching BSL. It's just easy to do while in college. I graduate in May so that's when i will stop wearing braid extensions forever. Then go on a growth journey by wearing natural twists.
Yah I just tried twist on my natural hair for the first time, and I braided them at the beginning first, just like I start my kinky twisty twist. It really works for me.
DIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL... INSIDE AND OUT. I SO MISS MY SUPER DOOPER HUGE FRO LIKE YOURS BUT NOW I'M LOC'N AND LUV'N IT BUT STILL APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS. ALL THE BEST SIS!

Thumbs up keep it up beautifulbrownbabydol
Do you wash your hair while you have it in twists? My hair is not as long as yours so I can change my twists weekly. Most ladies haven't mentioned this... maybe we could touch on that as well!
I have been experimenting with the braid to twist. I am glad I ran across your channel! It didn ot matter for my hair. They still only lasted about a week. I am going to try it with my flax gel and see if it will last longer. I braided about 10 notches down in hopes of keeping my roots from looking fuzzy. It worked for about 2 days and then it went back to normal. Love your site!
first of all i looveee ur channel..so much good info on being healthy (i'm tryin to lose weight) and on natural hair care! I do like this method as it makes the twist look longer but find that it is stresss to take it out. Where you twist from the start it is easy to just run your finger thru the 2 strands to undo. Plus with this method as u have to take more time and manipulation to undo the plaited base its not the best for twist outs i find...ohh and ur hair is absolutely gorgeous!!
That is a very good method to try....My hair is a lot shorter than yours, but I may have to test that out on myself. Your hair looks FAB!!!!! Thanks for sharing!
This is the way I have been twisting for a while, without the blow drying. Can you talk a little about your blow drying methods? I do a lot of working out, too, so does this assist with anti-frizz?
I am in love with you hair. Love you twist. I cant twist that great and I am trying to learn. I will check out your vids for tutorials, but if you could point me in the right direction, I will really appreciate it.
Hey! In the Caribbean these twists are very common..actually i dont think anyone here actually just twists their hair..it does last longer! :) and yur twists are really cute! I think yu just might keep them longer than 3 weeks
I like, they do look different. Please keep us up dated on the styles. Love you swag girlie! Keep up the good/hard work with the business. Peace and love
Hey! I saw you in the galleria a couple weekends ago. you were complimenting my flat twists and i was complimenting your hair as we were both walking into LoveCouture! Great video and pretty hair! Love it!
Hey BBBD, i saw that you wash your face with black soap. Which one do you use? I've fairly oily skin and I cant find anything to clear my skin up and make it less oily.
@BBBD I also love your oil and the shea yogurt. I was at The Fabulously Unique Natural Hair Affair and I got both and O-M-G!!! They smell great too. Btw I ordered and paid for the menu plan there and the lady took my email address and said you would mail it. I don't know if it was because you ran out of the ones you brought or what but I haven't received it yet and was just wondering if it was an oversight. I was the lady with the little busy body baby girl. :-)
I love it!!! In my opinion your twists are better than the sinagalese type twists because your way helps the hair look fuller and longer because your not tightening the twist too much. They do make a bomb twist out though. For the people who think it's hard taking these type twists out just think how much better it is than taking out a head full of small plaits instead of twists. If you've ever done it you know this is childsplay compared.
The twists are GORG!! Question though (not sure if you answered already): do you wash your hair while they are in twists when you're working out? I'm back in the gym myself and need a style that will hold. If you do wash, how often and how? My hair tends to tangle when in twists to long or twists washed.
You definitely!! will get people asking if it is your hair. I always do my twists this way and get asked this question on several occasions. By the way my hair is not! long.
I wish I could braid. I know my hair would be much better if I could. You do great work and I really enjoy your videos. My mom has tried to teach me how to braid and I just can't get it. I'm still trying to do it, anyway. I love how your twist look.
I have a question when your hair is in the twist do u still wash your hair? If so does your hair shrink? And if so do u do anything to the twist to prevent shrinkage?
I kno youve said in one of your vids already but what hair is it that you use to use to add in your twist before they got longer also would you recommend it for fine hair if not what type would you recommend? Im looking to do a protective style and I jus love the idea of those twist but I have fine hair and i wana make sure that I get the right texture of hair so it can look as natural as possible
you used a comb to part it...how long did it take? it looks great, and I can see you getting alot of work done in the gym not having to worry about ur hair. excellent! love your vids; truly inspiring.
i am so in love with this style i swear! How, do you dedicate time do all the hair. My hair is the exact same way thick as heck. lol. I just want to straighten it out. Then I want to go on ahead with the twists for next year *if its God's will of course.*
what would u suggest for a person who hasn't had a perm in over 6 yrs and whose hair is really thick and long---kinky twist with the real hair or with fake hair
I love your videos girl and i am sure your tired of hearing the same thing. but Gurllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll when is your relationship series starting i am anxious!
last week was my first attempt at doing my own kinky twists by adding hair. --it wasn't turning out right to me. so i just did my own hair in twists. straight parts, and curled the ends. turned out gr8. took me 4 1/2 hours. i'm slow. got nails.
yours came out cute 2, but i dunno how the take down would be 4 me with braiding then twisting. i'll prob keep to only twisting mine. thx 4 sharing!
its been six months since I've gone natural (and watching your videos!) and your hair advice is on point! My hair has grown SO much with the help of your videos! THANK YA GURL!! lol
These are really cute! I learned something that I did on myself (and it is awesome). I do my natural twists like Senegalese twists (where you roll and twist from the root). They look really shiny and smooth like the synthetic hair and when you untwist, they look like curly coils. Again, beautiful style. Great vid.
wow they look really nice. you did those parts really neat. I am excited to see the different styles that you put together with this hairstyle. thanks for the video
Very Beautiful as usual but I still love the first twist better but I understand you want them to last longer. These twist just don't look as natural as just twisting from the beginning but as always still very pretty! Thank you for sharing this method!
I kind of do something similar or perhaps not quite...Instead of braiding, I simply Flat twist at the roots then continue with a regular twist. My hair looks ultra neat and uniform!
But I really like this method too. I reckon the style may last that little bit longer.
I would love to see you do a tutorial on how you maintain different hairstyles during workouts. I am in transition and I will do my bc at just over 7 months post relaxer this coming January. I am also getting myself back into working out. I worry about how to maintain my natural hair styles. I'm sure it will be easy during the twa phase, but I would like to know how to maintain once I gain length later on.
I use to braid the roots and twist down and that method does last longer and makes the hair look a little bit longer, but that way is so hard to take down
im so jealous my hair isnt long enough for these yet.... 8( lol i need to find a protective style for my length..but ur hair looks great i love your videos 8 )
How do you get your twists to stay? After I do mine and let go they unravel at the bottoms and basically come undone or are very loose for the ones that stay.
Hey BBBD, I wonder if you could answer some questions for me regarding this hair style.
1) How long will this style last for you?
2) How often do you moisturize (water) your hair?
3) How often would you apply your ISOKE oil to your hair (nightly)?
4) Since you work out , do you rinse the salt out your hair? If so, what do you do to your twist when they are soaking wet? (how do you seal in moisture? Is there a video?)
5) Do you suffer from fizz when your hair is wet? If so, what do you do?
Beautiful!!! Very beautiful!! Now if those took you 4 hours or so, mine would take probably twice as long because I twist quite slow. It takes me about 2 hours to do 20 or 30 twists. Man, I would be twisting for days..weeks even!! lol Maybe over the Christmas break I'll try it (well I have to learn how to braid first! lol). Thank you!
love love your twists, yeah it looks fake but that is a GREAT thing, cuz we all know it ain't!! Its just lovely healthy hair. your hair has come far, yep I watched your vids since the beginning, which is one of the vids that led me to my BC in August, 2010!!

yours came out cute 2, but i dunno how the take down would be 4 me with braiding then twisting. i'll prob keep to only twisting mine. thx 4 sharing!

its been six months since I've gone natural (and watching your videos!) and your hair advice is on point!

Great vid.

Girl you hair has really grown. Twists are my go to style. They are so easy and versatile IMO.

I think your 2-strand twists in the first still was AWESOME. I'm gonna dub that one. Did you 2-strand twist them and then roded them on the ends?

Very Beautiful as usual but I still love the first twist better but I understand you want them to last longer. These twist just don't look as natural as just twisting from the beginning but as always still very pretty! Thank you for sharing this method!

These turned out great. Your parts are so straight! That's the hardest part when I do styles where I want it really neat.

Luv it!!!!

I'm sure it will be easy during the twa phase, but I would like to know how to maintain once I gain length later on.

looks really nice, I have used this method before and the take down of my hair was harder, but I loved the way it looked
sistersotrue28 1 year ago
I use to braid the roots and twist down and that method does last longer and makes the hair look a little bit longer, but that way is so hard to take down

If so, what do you do?

beautiful, once again.

My cousin loves to do that method too, cuz her twists last longer. But i think it's harder to take down, so just stick to the twists only

Beautiful!!! Very beautiful!! Now if those took you 4 hours or so, mine would take probably twice as long because I twist quite slow. It takes me about 2 hours to do 20 or 30 twists. Man, I would be twisting for days..weeks even!! lol Maybe over the Christmas break I'll try it (well I have to learn how to braid first! lol). Thank you!

your hair is FABULOUS!!! Thank you for sharing!

I love the braid twist method. I also agree that the twists last longer. I like the full effect the twisting gives. Your hair looks great!

Yip braiding atop first then twist the bottom, that's the only way 2 strand twists stay in my hair
