  • Congratulations to the uploader. The first you tube music video i've ever seen that doesn't cut off the last few seconds of the song. Intelligence thrives in small pockets of the universe.

  • @PeterHBne1 I couldn't agree with you more!!! I was a teenager in the 70's and I can tell you ~ it was FANTASTIC!! Everything ~ not just the music. Kids today have no idea what they have missed WITHOUT all the rediculous gadgets they now have. We had a ball without all that crap...

  • My local Catholic Priest got me onto this song when I was quite young back in the day. He did house visits on Sundays and used to watch CountDown! he got me onto it and I loved it when they threw the St Peters ice creams around. I think that was when I first understood the concept of not taking yourself too seriously.

  • @PeterHBne1 Always good to have a priest come round your house when you're young.......... :)

  • Harry Vanda & George Young. 2 Pioneers of great aussie rock...worote some of THE best aussie stuff around in the late 60's & 70's.

  • Strange...

  • And the album cover features about two dozen foxy sheilas!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!......want to know some juicy gossip about this band that they dare not print in the magazines...go to "eleanor rigby nzoz1971" and read my 3 comments. regards.

  • and the priest claims another child

  • SEE IF YOU CAN FIND MY HIDDEN COMMENTS!

  • i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi fig tree) jesus (many sayings about figs) ross horne's book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for over 6 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone everywhere.

  • @figbat1

who gives a fuck about your views on relgion. it was probably a slight directed at st. peterburg russia you know, the cold war. the high pitched vioce made me think an arab in france or dark person sang this song, or a french jew.

  • I always thought this was an underappreciated classic from the late seventies-I remeber hearing it on a new wave compilation(Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits Of The '80s, Vol. 1?)- Thanks for posting it!

  • so thats aungus´ young bigger brother right?

  • @BlueLemon19

    Older Brother mate!!

  • They ought to have some act on America's Got Talent use this song. Of course they would have to be magnificent, but this song would win it for them.

  • love ++

    Angus Young's brother.+++

  • so far i have had eliminations at days 504, 840, 1176, 1512, 1848, 2184, and expect my 7th at day 2520. today is day 2332. i have definitely found something. i am not lying. what i have discovered has gone around the world and many songs have been written about it...the foo fighters last 3 albums..."vertigo" by U2 (my first name is phil)...coldplays last 2 albums. an elimination is a day when you experience strong flu-like symptoms and feel terrible. bad stuff is washed out of your body.

  • I love the video clip and the song :) Nice!

  • someone please help me, who is the chorus singer in this song? and what else has that singer done?

  • I was 6 years old and on holiday in the UK visiting family when I first heard this song. If I remember rightly this song did pretty well in the UK at the time. I probably haven't seen the video flip for it since then either ... god it's amazing how much comes flooding back from back then because of a few images and a catchy song :)

  • Bringing back my childhood!!! Loved this song.

  • 2:29 is that angus on the guitar with the shool uniform?

  • His voice sounds like the voice in Feel Good inc. by Gorillaz...

  • Flash & The Pan rocked!!!

  • Grew up listening to this group, they put out three records I believe and my dad has the one with this song on it on vinyl. Been looking to find this record on CD or mp3. Ladykiller is an awesome song.

  • WOW...This was one of the most random, awesomest music video ever made, before the start of MTV, genius!

  • I f i remember rightly, these two wrote songs quite prolifically and then tried to sing themselves.. they were ok man

  • ajjjjjaaaa a said ..... my lovley childhood(polish)

PITY THAT ARE NOT OVER SHOOTING

WHAT WAS IN THEM,¿ CAN ANYONE OUT THERE

    REPLY ME ABOUT THEM?

  • Comment removed

  • @AsboZombie68 Smart fellas. They realised early on the money to be made in royalties.

  • It's the road that leads to the Opera House at Circular Quay. They then walk up the Moore Stairs and onto Macquarie Street.

  • @caz4777 Yep found it on Google maps! At least the upstairs part. Down below you can't reach in Maps.

    Thanx!

  • @Patsik You can do a google search on Moore Stairs. There is an aerial map on the 'aussieheritage' site, and on flickr there is a black and white picture of the stairs, which have been restored since this video was made.

  • 0:04

Does anybody know what street this scene is taken?

    It is Sidney right?

  • One of the best songs of those times.

  • man i remember this playing on the radio always

  • Schitterend nummer! Onvorstelbaar goed...

  • love this song. great.

  • true classic

  • the peters icecream plug gave me a good laugh

  • Wow - I haven't heard THIS in a long long time.

  • this song makes me sad :( it reminds me of my dad and he has been really mean to me lately. i always wanted a good relationship with my parents but he seems to be mad at me all the time. its like hes disappointed with me or something. its sad cause it makes me act different to him. i never wanted it like that but it just is. and i dont think its worth it in life to be like that towards somebody. maybe he never wanted me to be born that i will never know :(

  • @koolio0900 The only thing you can do, I think, is to follow your own passion in life, find it and make it your life... don't let anybody, not even your parents influence you regardless of what they think of you. I think this way you might find some happiness and a bit of peace.

  • this song is old and good

  • This song fascinates me everytime I hear it. Back then when i first heard it as a 17 year old kid, till today, as a 52 year old looking-back-for-good-old-memories guy. The arrangement of the song is incredibly well done, and that is why this song has got my interest-to-never-let-go on me effect. Worn down piano (Marc & Clark band) beated it though....but still much respect for F&TP. I wish that the world of today was as naive as then...kinda harmless and beautifully coloured..

  • Those steps leading up from Circular quay onto Macquarie St havent changed nor has Macquarie st (Sydney) changed all that much from those shots too.

  • @DMRH69 Ta for that,I was wondering where it was.I like this song.Aussie music is underrated.

  • @DMRH69 I think the building with the black marble (where they walk along side of after coming up the stairs) has been replaced? Been awhile since I was last there.

  • @TheNosferatu1969 You're right, it has been replaced,

  • I guess there dead from smoking lol

  • Went back in time. They made such a good music. This will be in my memoties after I die

  • Vanda and Young were one of the great pop partnerships of all time. You can see with this where they just seem to be doing it for a laugh its a great pop song. Beautifully structured, all the hooks and melodies to capture you and rollick along. A real gem thanks!!!!

  • The 1978 Flash 'n' the Pan - LP is classic in every inch of moment !

  • Great band !!!

  • Great band !!!!

  • omg i luv this song!

  • I'm pleased to see that some other people remember that concert at the Entertainment Centre. Certainly the last timed the Easybeats toured was 1986, but this was a one off concert. Harry Vanda then appeared with You Am I, at the APRA awards in 2001, doing "Friday on my mind" and good luck to him too. As long as he enjoys himself, he should keep doing it.

  • this song appeard on the 1977 compilation album called devistator

  • @lake40 got the album good stuff

  • f and the pan came along when the (pop) aussie music scene was (at least for ME) boring and introduced some great song-videos that flipped mah wigg.

  • Why cant I get this on itunes?

  • Wow.... Hadn't seen this before! Super goofy, & yet, pretty cool.....

  • Got NY right

  • very nice :D

  • Aussie classic.... Brilliant song !!

  • @Knoalsterwicht The year this video was made, my brother was lucky enough to meet the members of AC/DC. He told me that they were very friendly, down to earth people. You could imagine Angus having a laugh at his older brother's portrayal of him here.

  • @caz4777

where is the connection between Flash & the Pan and AC/DC?

  • @TheSunmanho

George Young (Flash & the Pan) is the brother of Angus and Malcolm Young (ACDC) i think.

  • @IKE66

this is cool! those 2 music styles are so different!

  • @TheSunmanho George Young was in Flash and the Pan, and his younger brothers Malcolm and Angus are in AC/DC. George Young and Harry Vanda also produced the early AC/DC Albums such as Powerage and High Voltage. George Young also produced their album "Stiff Upper Lip" in 2000.

  • OMG thanks for posting this! I bought this album (with all the album cover with all the people sitting in chairs on the beach with frisbees) when I was 16 and played it all summer! What an album! Great songs from the first to the last.

  • murray head kinda reminded me of this song (one night in bangkok). i geuss it was the old sounding microphone and the way they tell a story through the song. check it out.

  • First time seeing this, love George's nod to his little brother Angus!

  • Ha ha, way too cool

  • I like the piano fill in, is there a tutorial to it? Or tabs, even notes would be great!!! Thanks!!!!

  • very funny video small guy pushing big one around....

  • luv this so much!

nzoz1977, thanks so much for putting this on...

  • I have this LP, purchased it in the late 1970's

  • George Young is malcom and Angus Youngs brother him and harry vanda produce ACDC

  • @kilroq He is indeed. I wonder what ever happened to this band. I was listening to this song 30 years ago when I bought their album.

  • Great ! Finally some good tunage,and good vid too...The real $hit.......Moocho Thx !

  • No word back from pjb98422 regarding that concert I mentioned. I've checked the details, and it was actually 17 February 1995. The promoter was John Whale (who subsequently went bankrupt). Along with the Easybeats were (from memory) Manfred Mann, Herman's Hermits, Billy J Kramer, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and I think The Tremeloes (without Brian Poole), plus some Australian backing musicians. It must have been before Stevie broke his ankle, because I could see him jumping.

  • A bit ahead of its time (remember, it was time of folk heroes and Night Fever & Co.) Sounds like 1980/81 new wave. If you said it had came out that year I'd even have believed it!

  • frickin awesome song

  • Great song by Harry Vanda and George Young. Too bad they dnt tour now id love 2 see them.

  • Amazing song...

  • I love their music and the antics are second to none

  • Comment removed

  • @caz4777 I can't change anything but I'd really like to know more, can you give us any more details please?

  • @pjb98422 About the concert as a whole, or the Easybeats in particular?

  • @caz4777 Have a Waffen SS just like it-what a clip it brings it all back!!

top time and top songs i wish we could bring those days back!!!

  • @panzermick1 I don't know if you remember around early 1996, there was a concert at The Entertainment Centre titled "Best of British", featuring a selection of British pop bands from the sixties, Hermans Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the like. I went along, and lo and behold, the opening act was The Easybeats. What a surprise, especially since they made no mention of it in the promos for the concert. Somehow I don't think we're going to see it happen again.

  • @caz4777 And I doubt the promoters would even mention that the Easybeats were an Aussie band (made up of British/European migrants).

  • put a scotsman and a dutchie together in Oz - awesome results!!!

  • Can anyone tell me where Harry got his Waffen SS Helmet from?
