the goof on Angus Young and the german playing sympathetic music and at the end with saint peter dancing reminds me of Eminem's dancing sand jockey in "Without me"
I LOVE THIS SONG!......want to know some juicy gossip about this band that they dare not print in the magazines...go to "eleanor rigby nzoz1971" and read my 3 comments. regards.
did you know that this is angus young's big brother? did you realise that the foo fighters last 3 albums have been written about what i have discovered? dont believe me? i have proof. read my 2 comments posted below to find out why. you may have to press "see all" to find both of them. i am not lying. honest. regards from devonport tasmania.
i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi fig tree) jesus (many sayings about figs) ross horne's book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for over 6 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone everywhere.
who gives a fuck about your views on relgion. it was probably a slight directed at st. peterburg russia you know, the cold war. the high pitched vioce made me think an arab in france or dark person sang this song, or a french jew.
so far i have had eliminations at days 504, 840, 1176, 1512, 1848, 2184, and expect my 7th at day 2520. today is day 2343. i have definitely found something. i am not lying. what i have discovered has gone around the world and many songs have been written about it... the foo fighters last 3 albums..."vertigo" by U2 (my first name is phil)...coldplay's last 2 albums. an elimination is a day when you experience strong flu-like symptoms and feel terrible. bad stuff is washed out of your body.
I always thought this was an underappreciated classic from the late seventies-I remeber hearing it on a new wave compilation(Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits Of The '80s, Vol. 1?)- Thanks for posting it!

I was 6 years old and on holiday in the UK visiting family when I first heard this song. If I remember rightly this song did pretty well in the UK at the time. I probably haven't seen the video flip for it since then either ... god it's amazing how much comes flooding back from back then because of a few images and a catchy song :)
Grew up listening to this group, they put out three records I believe and my dad has the one with this song on it on vinyl. Been looking to find this record on CD or mp3. Ladykiller is an awesome song.
love how Saint Peter starts throwing throwing peter's ice creams to everyone near the end of the song, hope he does that when i finally reach the pearly gates lol!
@Patsik You can do a google search on Moore Stairs. There is an aerial map on the 'aussieheritage' site, and on flickr there is a black and white picture of the stairs, which have been restored since this video was made.
this song makes me sad :( it reminds me of my dad and he has been really mean to me lately. i always wanted a good relationship with my parents but he seems to be mad at me all the time. its like hes disappointed with me or something. its sad cause it makes me act different to him. i never wanted it like that but it just is. and i dont think its worth it in life to be like that towards somebody. maybe he never wanted me to be born that i will never know :(
@koolio0900 The only thing you can do, I think, is to follow your own passion in life, find it and make it your life... don't let anybody, not even your parents influence you regardless of what they think of you. I think this way you might find some happiness and a bit of peace.
This song fascinates me everytime I hear it. Back then when i first heard it as a 17 year old kid, till today, as a 52 year old looking-back-for-good-old-memories guy. The arrangement of the song is incredibly well done, and that is why this song has got my interest-to-never-let-go on me effect. Worn down piano (Marc & Clark band) beated it though....but still much respect for F&TP. I wish that the world of today was as naive as then...kinda harmless and beautifully coloured..
@DMRH69 I think the building with the black marble (where they walk along side of after coming up the stairs) has been replaced? Been awhile since I was last there.
Vanda and Young were one of the great pop partnerships of all time. You can see with this where they just seem to be doing it for a laugh its a great pop song. Beautifully structured, all the hooks and melodies to capture you and rollick along. A real gem thanks!!!!
I'm pleased to see that some other people remember that concert at the Entertainment Centre. Certainly the last timed the Easybeats toured was 1986, but this was a one off concert. Harry Vanda then appeared with You Am I, at the APRA awards in 2001, doing "Friday on my mind" and good luck to him too. As long as he enjoys himself, he should keep doing it.
@Knoalsterwicht The year this video was made, my brother was lucky enough to meet the members of AC/DC. He told me that they were very friendly, down to earth people. You could imagine Angus having a laugh at his older brother's portrayal of him here.
@TheSunmanho George Young was in Flash and the Pan, and his younger brothers Malcolm and Angus are in AC/DC. George Young and Harry Vanda also produced the early AC/DC Albums such as Powerage and High Voltage. George Young also produced their album "Stiff Upper Lip" in 2000.
OMG thanks for posting this! I bought this album (with all the album cover with all the people sitting in chairs on the beach with frisbees) when I was 16 and played it all summer! What an album! Great songs from the first to the last.
murray head kinda reminded me of this song (one night in bangkok). i geuss it was the old sounding microphone and the way they tell a story through the song. check it out.
No word back from pjb98422 regarding that concert I mentioned. I've checked the details, and it was actually 17 February 1995. The promoter was John Whale (who subsequently went bankrupt). Along with the Easybeats were (from memory) Manfred Mann, Herman's Hermits, Billy J Kramer, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and I think The Tremeloes (without Brian Poole), plus some Australian backing musicians. It must have been before Stevie broke his ankle, because I could see him jumping.
A bit ahead of its time (remember, it was time of folk heroes and Night Fever & Co.) Sounds like 1980/81 new wave. If you said it had came out that year I'd even have believed it!
@panzermick1 I don't know if you remember around early 1996, there was a concert at The Entertainment Centre titled "Best of British", featuring a selection of British pop bands from the sixties, Hermans Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the like. I went along, and lo and behold, the opening act was The Easybeats. What a surprise, especially since they made no mention of it in the promos for the concert. Somehow I don't think we're going to see it happen again.
Congratulations to the uploader. The first you tube music video i've ever seen that doesn't cut off the last few seconds of the song. Intelligence thrives in small pockets of the universe.

@Knoalsterwicht The year this video was made, my brother was lucky enough to meet the members of AC/DC. He told me that they were very friendly, down to earth people. You could imagine Angus having a laugh at his older brother's portrayal of him here.

@caz4777
where is the connection between Flash & the Pan and AC/DC?
TheSunmanho 10 months ago
@TheSunmanho
George Young (Flash & the Pan) is the brother of Angus and Malcolm Young (ACDC) i think.

@IKE66
this is cool! those 2 music styles are so different!
TheSunmanho 10 months ago
@TheSunmanho George Young was in Flash and the Pan, and his younger brothers Malcolm and Angus are in AC/DC. George Young and Harry Vanda also produced the early AC/DC Albums such as Powerage and High Voltage. George Young also produced their album "Stiff Upper Lip" in 2000.

OMG thanks for posting this! I bought this album (with all the album cover with all the people sitting in chairs on the beach with frisbees) when I was 16 and played it all summer! What an album! Great songs from the first to the last.

If you said it had came out that year I'd even have believed it!

pjb98422 1 year ago

@panzermick1 I don't know if you remember around early 1996, there was a concert at The Entertainment Centre titled "Best of British", featuring a selection of British pop bands from the sixties, Hermans Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the like. I went along, and lo and behold, the opening act was The Easybeats. What a surprise, especially since they made no mention of it in the promos for the concert. Somehow I don't think we're going to see it happen again.

@caz4777 And I doubt the promoters would even mention that the Easybeats were an Aussie band (made up of British/European migrants).
