I served as a Marine, went to boot in San Diego on January 7th, 2007 and served my time. I agree Devil Dog. I didn't come home from deployment expecting love and admiration. I didn't walk around telling everyone that I was a Marine, and therefore wanting attention for it. We were trained and we fought, yes. Yes there were times when things got rough. But that's life. I think this video is a thoughtful reply and I have to say very little of what I have heard from within the US establishment about the wars has given me more hope for America than this. For me: I am not American, I opposed both wars (along with the million people--million people)who marched in london again Blair and Bush. The point I'm trying to make in this video is don't blame the US troops, atleast those that are on the ground in Afghanistan, for actions taken by the government. Do I support the war? Do I support the reasoning behind going into Afghanistan as far as to secure the pipeline? No! Don't judge or point the finger at me or any member of the US forces, as I'm sure that the hefty majority of us didn't come in because we wanted to save a little money on oil at the cost of our lives.

Schmidt was charged with negligent manslaughter, aggravated assault, and dereliction of duty. He was fined nearly $5,700 in pay and was reprimanded.

To be honest, you wouldn't be free without the soldiers dedication or willingness to volunteer to fight for the country they were raised in from day one is something to actually be thankful for.
