  • Wow! Thanks for sharing this with us on here!

  • Wonderful to see the actual record in action. LOL Sounds great. Thanks.

  • great sound!

  • This was from Billie's first recorded session with Teddy Wilson's band, on July 2, 1935, for Brunswick [this copy is most certainly the "red label" Columbia reissue from the late '40s {36206}]. Benny Goodman, Roy Eldridge, Ben Webster, John Trueheart, John Kirby, and Corny Cole are Teddy's "sidemen" here.

  • I have this same record...dated 1937

  • oops...mine is dated 1935 also

  • beautiful track, i have it on my 1959 ami jukebox which you have inspired me to record :) thanks for sharing the beautiful player too.

  • I could almost die to have this record player. Amazing, simply amazing. (And great song too)

  • BILLIE HOLIDAY who died in 1959 is the scratched-by-life voice of this LP.

Pearl Bailey who eventually was named 'Ambassador of Love' is not heard on this recording.

  • What year model is this Phillips Radiogram?

  • Now-a-days...the vtr adjustment would keep the arm about parellel to the record, as opposed to having this arm cartridge much lower causing the angle to be quite severe in it's approach and thus causing the needle to track a quite a differnent angle than the way it was originaly recorded. I don't really know what a good tracking weight should be for 78's. I change my 78 needles every single play.

  • Teddy Wilson! What great jazz piano. Thanks.

  • Nice radiogram. It´s the first time I´ve seen this turntable in action.

  • Pretty record player. It remind me the 1950's style! Very pretty!

  • I love everything about this clip.

  • Nice record player

  • My parent´s recordplayer! What a good sound!

  • Great sound quality, especially from an old 1950 record player.

  • Really great -love the vinyl. Who needs CDs when you got that!? Teddy Wilson always knocks me out, such a fantastic player !

  • How true!! To me cd's sound so tinny that 78 rpm sounds almost perfect and what's this crapp about about cds lasting for ever. after a while the incoded information on them starts to break

down. on record depending how to take care of it could outlast any cd

  • I love this model of recordplayer. As you can see on my videos I have the next model of Philips, from 1954-55. Thanks. Enjoy your radiogram, as I do with mine!!
