This is an interesting pause for reflection; the nuclear threat is no longer so imminent as it was in my youth. I'm not discounting the state of affairs in the world today, no. @DSpirith The main reason they went for a 50mt rather than 100 was because of the huge fallout that would have been created by the larger bomb. They replaced some of the plutonium in the secondary with non fissionable lead. It was an obscene thing to build anyway in my opinion.

I was just being comical, obviously the stars have gotten brighter (from my observations). If I am right, what does all this mean though?
