  • the body requires carbs and proteins when lifting heavy weights and exercising. If people eat low carb diets all year round they will be lean but they will not grow because the body breaks down muscle into amino acids (protein) and this is then change into glycogen which fuels the body and mainly muscles. Therefore carbs are as essential as protein for people who want to bulk up and gain muscle. They wont get fat either if they have high manounts of muscle because of protean synthesis!!!!!

    if you are gaining muscle, you need to eat gram per muscle not body weight.

    second lean muscle is comprised of 70% water so you need even less protien.

    100lb lean bw = 30lbs of muscle and bone. in that case youde need 30g to keep your muscle

    this whole protien thing is waaaay overrated

  • @moss4life100 about the protien part? read the China study and the effects of over-indulgence on protien. i didnt say its important, i just said that carbs are essential for performance, energy, and muscle rebuilding. protien will help you rebuild, but it wont really improve your performance (unless u drink the mixed stuff?)

    look at sprinters. eight pack dude! look at bodybuilders 9 months out of the year, beer gut! both train like crazy and deserve mad respect, but at the end of the day...

  • @cryonyits07done hey dude there is no set amount for carbs, you def wanna keep it over 250. but on days you work out you want more carbs then usuall. CARBS are far more essential than protien as they digest slower and you can take in far more. to bulk up with muscle youre gonna need more essential fats, again protien aint that important, and youll need to lift weights that you can barely handle.

    everything else is BULLSHIT. also you might get a little fat on ya, so do off-day cardio

  • He is always right. I say bulk for 12 weeks (like Dorian said 3 or 4 times a week with 2 or 3 days rest between muscle groups) then cardio for 4 weeks (30 minutes every day). Repeat forever (or until you die of old age!)

Then, the gay dude says "4 times a week." he has to pick the higher number. obviously the gay guy is coming from the more is better weider camp. still subliminally programmed to say the higher number when dorian said 3 to 4 times a week. 3 times a week would probably work best for that guy. read up on mike mentzers ideas, he and arthur jones influenced dorian somewhat.
