My school Poston Butte has this model and it is rediculous on the performance of these things, the school did get the 6 cell battery how ever after about 6-7 months of use the right hendge next to the battery begins to break it is a horrible design flaw within the computer also other operating systems don't work on this model because of its network card strange as that case maybe it not nearly as bad as the MID screen gets or the graphics card, and the duo cpu agrues with itself making java bad.

WARNING TO EVERYONE, DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP, OR ANY DELL LAPTOP AT THIS TIME IF YOU VALUE YOUR SOUND! All dell laptops are known to to have DPC latency issues, If you don't know what that is it is a processing issue which causes the audio to constantly lock up and makes your sound practically un-usealble. If you want proof simply google search dell DPC latency problems, the threads on these problems are literally 100's of pages long. It IS a major issue and I would suggest looking elsware.

It's all outsourced to third party ODM/OEMs. Your point about Dell desktop computers not being very upgradable is true - but it's true of HP, Acer, and every other big-box computer maker. Dell is no worse than anyone else. Just let it go now, OK?

my dell dimension's motherboard is a dell, own branded one so i was told that to upgrade my cpu i would need a whole new mobo because the current one wouldnt be able to handle a newer more powerful cpu, and apparently since other makes use motherboards made by companies such as asus or msi (i think) they are more easily upgradable because they arent made to only handle what cpu you buy with the pc.
