The effect from 5:26 to 5:49 is a type of flanging. Keep in mind however that BT uses exclusive sound processing through a setup called "Kyma" this is what makes BT's sound exclusive to BT as very few people in the world use Kyma as much as BT. This is what most of his buzzing beeping, etc is from, I wouldn't doubt the flanging is from there as well.
