  • Because of the weight he lifts, he does almost half reps to protect his joints from excessive wear. At this weight and training regularity, its the only way...even if it does look bad!

    Full range reps are still the way to go if you're little like most of us :)

    i think the real reason he uses partials is because of the constant tension applied on the muscle. lockout takes the tension off and applies them to his joints. plus working in the stretch position creates a maximal stretch overload on the muscle leading to greater hypertrophy, fascia stretching(from the pump), and hyperplasia

    called " stablizer" check grey anatomy

    the most complete book on the subject

    and there is no mention of any "stabilizer"

    muscles anywhere thats just a false catch phrase someone made up

    to confuse people and judging by hom many people believe they exsist i would say they acomplished just that.

    You do not have to go through a full ROM

    to stmulate growth in fact doing that will lead to more injuries.

  • it is common in bodybuilding that you focus on the part where the muscle is the strongest which is midpoint for most parts. and he is probably not afraid of lacking strength in his stabilizers, he gets massaged about 2 times a week so he makes sure that nothing is wrong

    Not true. Full ROM is not always necessary. Doing half reps and not locking out keeps all the stress on the muscle being worked. In some instances like Squats full ROM is necessary to get maximum benefit. But on things like DB Presses, you can do half ROM and get a very good workout.

  • it's true these guys are on steroids, but to say that you can't get that big naturally is rediculous. there are plenty of guys out there that are huge naturally. my brother in law and uncle in law are two guys that are huge and with little body fat. it's just genetics.

Going lower would really just bring more chest and shoulder into the movement. Since he is trying to target the tri's is form looked just fine.
