IF Sasuke were to fall for genjutsu it has to be jounin or Sannin level genjutsu. Not only that but Sasuke is suppose to be a chunin in this story, this is BS.
Orochimaru may not actually be "dead", especially since his remains are taking control of Kabuto. And Orochimaru, while extremely powerful, is hardly the most powerful ninja in the Narutoverse; he personally admits that Itachi is stronger than he is. I'm not sure if Deidara is one of those people, since he, too, lost to Itachi, but he was supposedly fairly valuable to Akatsuki.
