Love Bavaria so much, we went to King Ludwig's castle. Stayed in Munich, this city has a character...... at first I got scared when we arrived here by train. It was so loud...
this film is so nice! Munich is my hometown and i am glad that you show the diferent sites of it on visiters view. but one thing: the map at 2:06 is not the real one. this one shows the plans that the myaor has to make better the s-bahn systen (that one in the middle) because it just only one of the rails in the middle where all s-bahn are driving
@1990alucard The best german beer I can get in California is from the Ayinger brewery near Munich, can you recomend another good german beer worth buying? Preferably a doble bock or a Hefeweisen? Thanks
all in all ....munich is a incredible nice town......Im from augsburg but i had to live in munich because of my siemens adventure....was a really awesome time....living near the wiesn......and i met a lot of girls from(nearly all florida) usa and i now know a lot of great hotels too....nice time
love the video....BUT, there are traffic problems! and the little road aint the main highway out of the city....it's just a ring highway. and it, too, gets congested during rush hour.
Try driving into Munich on the A9 on a Monday morning...terrible!
Any U.S. city with 250,000+ population has the same amount of auto traffic problems as a 2 million + city as Munich. This isn't just holiday times which I would agree are nightmarish in Germany, this is ALL OF THE TIME in US cities.
With the exception of the construction zone which is A3, German traffic is not a problem
I was there with my son this past summer (2009) and loved it very much. Awesome nightlife especially in and around Marienplatz. If your thinking of visiting Europe come here and Austria is so close by you'll be there in no time by train.
What is wrong with that nunatic, Our culture is so great people of other races and backgrounds want to come and explore it. I see that as a compliment to us. Also, It would be a different story if he was wearing cloths that are to big on him and didnt know how to speak properly. He has fluent english, he seems nice. idk wtf your problem is
I was in Munich last year, and I loved being there. There are lots of beautiful places everywhere, but my most favorite place to visit are the palaces, like Residenz, Nymphenburg etc. It's true that Munich (and I think in the rest of Germany) has a very good public transport system. It's convenient that you don't have to own a car. All in all, I love Munich, just except of the nude sunbathers *_*
AAAH I MISS MY MUNICH - the best city in the world!! I'm in the US a whole year already. Will return to my home in 15 days!! There are so many places I'm going to go too.,,,
NV Club
Riem Arcaden
Isar
Haimhausen
Feringer See
Leopoldstrasse etc
all those wonderful places that weren't mentioned in this video.. :-(
Oh btw. It is Englischer Garten (translation: English Garden) this is opposed to a french garden. English vs French gardens. English gardens of the time (1700's) were public gardens meant to be used by people. French Gardens were private show cases used to nature on display to show the wealth of the monarch.
Great job on this video rmarkosian! I also made a travel journal of Germany on my youtube site. =) I lived in a small village outside of Augsburg for a year as an au pair. + ***** !
Ich habe sieben jahre in Muenchen gewohnt. Keine Stadt in Amerika ist so schoen wie Muenchen. Mein deutsch ist schlimm geworden, but life in Germany is much better than life in America. The German people were so nice and smart. "Ich liebe Deutschland."
und noch mal....theres nothing wrong with being naked in public it doesn't hurt anyone and if you don't want to see it dont LOOK! theres nothing wrong with the naked human body....stupid stupid americans!
If you listened carefully, he said the nude people appear out of focus so that less reputable websites don't get a hold of it. Not because he fears nudity. Listen before you comment.
I lived near Munich a year & know that most of this IS in fact true. Why are you criticizing someone who is trying to speak a 2nd language? Sure it won't sound like how native Germans speak German but the important part is that he tried. If you're so offended by this video, or by Americans in general, then why did you just sit through 8.5 minutes of it? You are quite rude and an embarrassing representation of Germans if you're from Germany. Luckily all the Germans I met were kind & open-minded.
I've actually been meaning to apologize for a while. I shouldn't have posted that, I was in a bad mood when I did it. Not that it makes it ok, but that is why. Things were still wrong there are plenty of suburbs in Munich and the Autobahn is very crowded it can get as big as some American freeways too, there are still plenty of fat people here. Unemployment is a still a problem and our wages are high compared to other countries, but not so great for Germany because everything is still expensive.
Thanks for your reply. I understand we all have our bad days....but you must understand that though it is true that many Americans don't know or care about other cultures, that does not apply to every single one of them. I care very much about getting to know other cultures and traveling. I think the fact that he tried to speak German was great. I met many Germans who couldn't speak English, but when they said "hello" or "how are you" I was delighted because they tried.
DEUTSCHE BAHN is always late! These things may be true from others perspectives, but not mine. What really annoyed me was his accent..I am just tired of Americans who come to another country and don't know anything of the culture.
I'm just tired of the Germans being know as a rigid always on time people....I know that we are generally on time and we hold people to being on time, but we are people too and we and other things come late.
Sure, Germany isn't perfect! But what is? For the most part it's a great country. The train stations are crowded and so are the trains at times but that's mainly in the big cities like in every big city. There will always be stereotypes for every culture! Americans have stereotypes too, like the one you brought up about not learning other cultures. But don't let that bother you, they're not true for everyone! I think Germans are pretty laid-back people from what I experienced.
i'm gonna visit munich in april for first time, but i already love it! can't wait of april 16 :)))

true...but by US standards the occasional stau is only a minor inconvenience
tmgore64 1 year ago
US standard by what city? LA? lol
just trying to say, dont under-exaggerate the facts....you still have quite the traffic. and it's not just a little "Stau".
and when vacation times start, it's hell!
the A9 is the the main interstate going south, and EVERYONE goes south....
traffic jams of 20+miles are common then....

Great video, but not everything you said was really true^^
Just for example the intention of the engineers was definitely not to provide a standing wave for surfers^^
It's officially forbidden to go swimming or surfing, but of course no one cares about it^^
