  • 2:29 that's what i call live coverage. haha

  • Sometimes when nobody's at home, I crawl around on the floor pretending I'm a slug :)

  • This video just doesn't do justice to how amazing this would've been to see in person.

  • crazy!!

  • i have seen a fifteen australian run 3:55; 3:50 is possible.

  • Physics teacher in 3:50. 17 year old in 4:25. Thats nothing know a guy named Hicham El Guerouj who did it in 3:26.

  • my physics teacher claims he did 3 50 when he was 15.... lololol

  • all moroccans are proud of this great atlete!

  • "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, tastes like a duck... it's a duck" - Edgar Allen Epoe.

  • Shit...i watch this on youtube or in swimming pool

  • lol silly white guys thought they had a chance

  • @Jimpaco The whole field thought they had a chance!

  • did anyone see the javelin at 1:48 ?

  • id be happy to break 5 haha

  • The funny thing is that Ngeny, who was the pacemaker, would end up challenging El Guerrouj for the mile world record in '99... Which El Guerrouj also set...

  • @CHELSEA9636 He had two pacemakers.

  • If only he dipped... he could have gone into 3:25:XX

  • how did he manage to go so fast at the end? after 4 fricking laps?!?!

  • I can run a mile in 6:30, on a good day Haha.

  • @PsychoN1gga

that fucking sucks haha im 17 and i can run a mile in 4:25

  • @h8erguy no wonder ur name is h8erguy

  • @h8erguy Thats not that good either, I ran that my freshman year in high school.

  • He is a real train

  • fucking britscant pronounce a single name

  • 1.Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco. 2.Laban Rotich of Kenya. 3.John Kibowen of Kenya.

This was an outstanding performance! Hicham got his second victory and got the world record for 1500 meters. He seemed supremely relaxed and got to stride out clear in the last lap, passing Noah Ngeny of Kenya. Yes, and he's one of the greatest middle distance runners of all time.

  • the maroccain legend

  • He was a great runner. True middle distance of 1500m. An amazing run, he was brilliant at tactics and also physically supreme. Sitting in 3rd, using the other guy's rabbit! Then using said other guy as his own rabbit!! Priceless.

  • Ok I'm like a fetus and I can run the 1500m in alike 37 seconds...

  • Amazing after a killer pace how do u manage to have a kick on the last lap epic

  • Rubbish!

  • Fantastic. he's a legend

  • At the end when you can see the clock ticking

    3 23 3 24 3 25 3 26 ...then a guy jumps in the air!!! What a reaction!!!

  • Its so funny that the clock broke down on a World Record.

Those splits would have been nice!!!!!

  • THE FAST MEN MOROCCO IN 1500 M ANDE MILE

  • Horrible quality

  • el guerrouj=doping....

  • Thank you for your idiotic comment. siepista19 = dumb***

  • @siepista19, you are completely correct. he was a cheat.

  • @siepista19 ha haha that makes me laughin !! he's not marion jones friend !! so do not bullshit please all !! he is Hisham elguarouj !!! :D do not scary the story of that race begins with Mohamed gamoudi so it's normal !!

  • @siepista19 No, he a true champion. Evidence of doping is usually just a crazy surge right at the end, not for the last 300m. His cardiovascular endurance was just immense. Coupled with great intelligence, it made him a force to be reckoned with. Was smart to retire after his 2004 Olympic gold, meaning he is remembered as the champ. To think that he won the 5k as well.

  • holy crap. its scary to think how close this record is to the womens 4x400m

  • freaking insane

  • Absolutely amazing... but why the hell did the producer decide to fill the screen with Steve Cram commentating as El Guerrouj was coming down the home straight?

  • The timer on the screen wasn't working. Steve Cram was reporting on the time to see if he'd broken the world record.

  • jeez.. same style like me T_T first part, normal when you continue with the second part which is terribly faster

    wow, amazing race :D

  • it is so crazy!!! in finally round they run very fast..

  • with more and more moroccans getting busted, particularly for EPO, what do you think the odds are that...

  • El Guerrouj is the greatest runner of 1500 m ever..ever babe

  • @zabalaaynik HE STILL IS THE GREATEST IN THE 1 MILE, 1500M AND 2000 M WORLD RECORD HOLDER AFTER ALL THESE YEARS STILL NOBODY CANT TOUCH IT.

  • @manonthemount El Guerrouj was running times consistent with the pre-Epo testing (2000) as post-Epo. I don't think they would name him an IOC member and Athlete of the Year for 3 consecutive years (still unprecendented) if he tested positive... and given all the wins in championships and normal races, I'd bet he would be tested first...

  • The time set in Brussels in 24/08/2001 (which is 3:26:12) is also under 55 sec per lap.

  • king

  • This race is scary, what's scary about is how fucking fast El Guerrouj is going. He closes in 52.xx off off of a ridiculously fast pace and becomes the first runner in history to run under 55 seconds per lap.

    Scary....

  • Hmmmmmm scary or suspicious?? HIcham el Steroids. He was a cheat, and we all know it deep down.

  • No, deep down we know that you are intensely jealous. You may have even been an athlete yourself at one point, but were probably caught cheating like your dishonest brethren. You have never been as good as El Guerrouj, so you take out your frustrations by these asinine accusations. If you had half a brain, you wouldn't put your BS on a youtube page, man up and send a letter to the IAAF with proof of your absurd, idiotic claims.

  • awesome

  • tbark laaah 3la lguerroouj

la fiérté de tous les marocains .
