This was an outstanding performance! Hicham got his second victory and got the world record for 1500 meters. He seemed supremely relaxed and got to stride out clear in the last lap, passing Noah Ngeny of Kenya. Yes, and he's one of the greatest middle distance runners of all time.

@siepista19 No, he a true champion. Evidence of doping is usually just a crazy surge right at the end, not for the last 300m. His cardiovascular endurance was just immense. Coupled with great intelligence, it made him a force to be reckoned with. Was smart to retire after his 2004 Olympic gold, meaning he is remembered as the champ. To think that he won the 5k as well.

I don't think they would name him an IOC member and Athlete of the Year for 3 consecutive years (still unprecendented) if he tested positive... and given all the wins in championships and normal races, I'd bet he would be tested first...
