  • I love this it cracks me up Sallie Martin was something else lol!!!!

  • what he wanted to say was "where ever you have two women you got trouble"!! LOL.

  • @greathingsinstore4me That's exactly what he wanted to say.....he was smart about it......that would've caused MORE chaos......lol!

  • Well I always hard they were rivals in their younger days....their fire only went down, not out!

  • OOHH..SALLY MARTIN MEAN..OOH AND HER VOICE LIKE MY MAMA..

  • sallie martin seemed so mean and hateful ... the other lady, so sweet.

  • This is an excert from tjhe movie "Say Amen Somebody"

  • This is too funny I just love she said I am not going to get my blood pressure up LOL LOL

  • Haaaaaaaaa... what book was that professor... lol that's classic.

  • That man reminds me of my deceased grandpa. This is too cute though! I loved old people when I was little! And I still do!

  • LOL

  • I Love Sister Willie Mae, LOL, She said yall can talk all you want about Chicago, but I know it was organized in St. Louis, and as far as when you got to Chicago yall just added a "FEW SCATTERING REMARKS!" I love it. And I'm not going to get my blood pressure up.....Go ahead, lady. MAN.....All our women got soul!!!

  • the book say where ever you have more than one you have trouble. LOL too funny

  • SALLLLLLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! someone at my church is so much like her. Ya can't tell her nothing! I love it 2:18-2:31 Did she act saved or what LOL!

  • This is to funny, But i miss them dearly, they were true GOSPEL LEGENDS.

  • At 2:03 after Willie Mae Smith said "And I was the President", Sallie said "And who was the vice-president?" As if to say - "Since you are claiming to know so much, tell me some more facts - so I can call you a liar!" Senior members the Baptist or Church of God in Christ Church - got to love them!

  • @malechorus 2:18 she went off too.but i have friends in memphis they always say lawd those lil old cheap ladies with mink coats on lol

  • LOL!!!!! I remeber this from the documentary, "Say Amen Somebody." Got to love our seniors. I laughed back then and it still makes me laugh when I see this. Check out how many times Ms.Martin blinks...LOL...She was ready to swing her purse....OMG!!!

  • Believe it or not, these two great women were very close friends. Remember, even brothers and sisters have disagreements. Now I don't want to get my blood pressure up about it! lol

  • WOW!!! I think they still sittin in between Mr. Dorsey fussin at each other if it was 33 or 19. That would be funny.........

  • Sallie,Thomas and Wille may they rest in peace and I mean peace and no arguing.LOL

  • WOW old people arguing iz funny. 19 and 33! lol i my grandmotha wuznt even a twinkle in her mothas eye! lol

  • LOL!!!!! WHOA!!!!

  • St. Louis vs. Chicago! Washington Tabernacle Baptist Church vs. Pilgrim Baptist Church...okay bring it on! Too funny!

  • Lmbo Mother Smith: "And I Dont Wanna Get My Blood Pressure Up About It" omg lol

  • SALLIE WANNA BE THE MOTHER ALWAYS LOL

  • Sallie was a hell raiser and Madam Smith was a lady, but, Dorsey had to sit between and keep his mouth shut or else cause the man didn't ask about who had the idea

  • I think Sally was very possessive of Dorsey and there may have been a little jealousy with his close association to Willie Mae Ford-Smith. After all Dorsey and Ford-Smith shared a close musical history on the road. Sally, although known within the Gospel circuit, never really aspired to great heights with her music as a "soloist," like Dorsey and Ford-Smith because she didn't have the voice or presentation. She did however have a good business sense for that day and time.

  • @San47di I couldn't agree more.

  • The man didn't ask for the idea he ask bout when did it start. Didn't ask for who got the idea. It started in nineteen and thirty three. That was Funny

  • @tallbaby40 and who was the minister? lol!

  • Boy this make me laugh everytime i watch it...

  • Miss Sally, may she rest in peace Lord, had a mean streak! LOL

  • Miss Inez Andrews' said she stole her song, 'No Tears in Heaven' and claimed it for her own and recorded it without giving Miss Andrews legal rights or royalties. Now that's nerve!

  • Sallie Martin had a real rep as a contentious person. I believe this was the reason The Martin Gospel Singers group (comprised of Robert Anderson, Eugene Smith, Norsalus McKissick, Willie Webb, and Roberta Martin (no relations to Sallie) broke up. Roberta broke away from the group and formed her own, The Roberta Martin Singers, of International fame. Yes, Sallie did indeed swipe the song from Inez Andrews. Listening to songs sung by Sallie, her voice was not very extraordinary

  • I agree with you. Although her voice, wasn't thing special. She was a fantastic business woman.

  • @PennTrafford Omg! so that's the info about folk stole her song? wow and ya know what? I believe Sallie stole it yes i do. and then made the statemet. Aint nobody gonna know! Thomas ya betta come sit at this pano not piano!

  • too funny!!!

    they crack me up

  • Ok, Bring It Out. LOL, ROTFL. That part was to funny!

  • i tolem i aint wanna be no secatary lol

  • when i actually read the aloud i just about died!! LOL!!! it's right on point!

  • do you mean "PRIDE"? what is that word prite? what does that mean?

  • SPRITE

  • I swear every time I see this I crack up... reminds me of a bad scene at a family reunion

  • The man didn't ask for the idea, he asked when did it get started. lol. didn't ask where they got the idea. Did anyone see the look on Miss Martin's face, it was priceless. I laugh so hard every time I see this. lol. Gospel music was blessed to have these 2 legends.

  • Lol ,, they crack me up . Did u see that look on Willie mae's face 2:15 when she really made the thrust of her point. That look on her face reminded me of my mom when she got into a point. I love those old bitties.

  • Sallie say she didn't want to be no secretary.

lol lol they just tooooooo funny.

  • Ain't nothing like the old school telling it lke it TIS! You can't help but laugh in a respectful way. But thanks be to God because without them, look at what we'd be missing in gosple music and in the world. Let's not forget the strides they made and the battles they fought for us and they didn't get a penny for what they did. It was done for the love they had for God.

  • this is the true gospel road.

  • I wouldn't have been surprised if Sallie would have hit Willie Mae with her pocketbook. hhaha jk

  • LOLnow now... before we go any further i'm going to give you ladies two option's, either you can take the whole issue up with Judge judy, or two you can turn this whole thing into a hollywood comedy starring The Villian (Sallie Martin), The Victim (Willie Mae Ford Smith), and The Super Hero (Thomas Dorsey), with guest starring Eddie Murphy

  • that was very funny. they were like sisters.

  • That them old church mothers. Go 'head on ya'll. Just like some of the missionaries I know. Lol

  • Sallie may been sassy, but Sallie and Dorsey were right! lol

  • but did you here what the man at0.50 said thats sad.

  • Did anyone see how sassy sallie martin got. lol. She is truly an original. I have heard that she was just as sassy in her old age as well as in her younger years.

  • Everytime I look at this i laugh. 2 gospel geniuses at each other. lol. Thanks for posting this.

  • Oh they are HALARIOUS....this is the sort of old lady cat fight you just stay clear of......bc they will carry on something awful!!!
