@pirakaboy Big bass is more correct to the 50s rock n roll era and true but electric bass is more versatile I like the beatles Horner bass Paul mc farther uses the key is try both and go with what your most comftable with and sound you like than follow suit good luck also I did a o boy cover today check it out you clip inspired me to record thanks again

Great job - the only correct version I've found on YouTube. Question though, what are you doing with the D chord at 0:17, 0:37, and 0:56 (when verse is "...my Peggy)? Are you lifting off the strings or what? Sorry, I'm a beginner and just can't make it out. Any detail would be greatly appreciated.

What im doing on 0:17 - 0:37 and 0:56 is all the same how buddy holly does in his live performances im on a D chord and i simply slide up to 1st fret back to 2nd so all im doing is a little fast up slide then back to normal D position. Just how he did if you watch user name vcw180 you will notice it. I hope it helps.
RMRockstar look undermy videos now you will see peggy sue correct speed. I put the clip on for you its the newest one which is better for the bass and speed and timing this one now is faster than orignal. Enjoy.

peggy sue always a favourite of mine,if you listen to the record you cant really hear buddys guitar till the solo break, its beauty is its simplicity.
I had a debate with the lengh of time of the cover. as the live version buddy holly did was shorter than vinyl, i think due to less air time allowed so i kept to vinyl which is longer than live

Hiya hope this helps but he is holding the chord position just moving it down to fret 1 and sliding it back up to the "D"
