  • Id wish this was real so much, i realy hope it still exists and that one day we will find it

  • "Like a bat?" "Yes like a bat." "Wings?" "Yes Wings." "Above the water?" "Yes above the water." "Bigger than a bat?" "Yes, bigger than a bat." "Like a teapot?" "Yes, like a teapot." "Sixteen legs and answers to 'Kevin?' "Yes, 'Kevin'." "Am I leading these questions?" "Yes, leading these questions." "Shall I leave you some of my toothpaste?" "Yes, and money too."
  • at first i was like 0:40 `then i was like 1:16

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • Here is my questions, if creatures this large do exist, how come we haven't gotten a clear view or plainly discovered it? I mean, whales are super large creatures that live in the ocean and we know of their existance. Same with giant squids...yet we have no concrete prove a creature this large exist?

  • Hello, GatoTravieso37

Your question is good: "if creatures this large do exist, how come we haven't gotten a clear view or plainly discovered it?" Part of the answer is in the definition of "we," for some people in various countries know about these large creatures; to them, it is known.

Part of the problem in Western countries like the United States is this: We have been indoctrinated for generations into believing that all species of pterosaurs became extinct many millions of year ago.

  • Hi GatoTravieso37

To continue, some of us actually have had a clear view of a giant living pterosaur. One of them is Duane Hodgkinson (see the Youtube video "Ropen Pterodactyl American Eyewitness"). I have written two books about living pterosaurs and a third is now in progress; this is a deep subject.

I am the interviewer asking questions in this video showing Gideon, Wesley, and Mesa, on Umboi Island, in 2004. This is a serious investigation, I promise. I still interview persons (email)

  • @ropenseeker ever heard about kongamato? you think they're the same?

  • @GatoTravieso37 My brother and I saw one when I was just 11. It was alone. They are real and are a bit bigger than an airplane. We say it flying at night and it appeared to be ingulfed in flames. Like an amber red flame. I think now that I'm older that it may be biolumence. LOL We thought it was a dragon. Glad to see this video. I am still searching for other sightings. I live in Florida

  • @FinalFreakFantasyXX Give me some of what your smoking...

  • @TheElectricEchoes It's called "hidden reality".

  • Last week's "Flying Monsters" episode of MonsterQuest had major problems. For one thing, the producers included almost no detail on the eyewitness sightings. If they had, their idea of an unknown bat would have looked ridiculous: These native eyewitnesses of the ropen describe it as much too big for a bat. In addition, Gideon mentions a very long tail (about 22 feet long): obviously no bat.

  • The tail alone was 22 feet long? Yikes!

  • I have a question, if Ropens do exist, do you think the media is covering it up?

and are there any photographs of the Ropen or videos about them??

I really do think that there is a possibility that these Ropens might exist same goes to the Mokele in a country in Africa

but are there any photographic evidence??

  • @Seniarth Media is all controlled by a system that is Anti-Christ in it's agenda. I would assume that there are great opposition and possible threats against such a discovery.

  • I saw a thunderbird when i was about 15 years old, and living in Tucson, AZ at the time. Family all went camping off the Huachuca mts. More then happy to give you some info ropen, on recent sightings. I myself study the sasquatch, skunkape, bigfoot, etc. and are going to school for anthropology, specifically primatology, too much to talk about, drop me a line.

  • Papua New Guinea there is many footage of this creture on youtube in the same arare mebay the ropen returns

  • Since early 2007, there have not been any ropen expeditions in Papua New Guinea (of which I am aware). There have been a few investigations in North American, however. In fact, I've received eyewitness reports from Europe, the Southwest Pacific (including Australia), and North America; this kind of creature may be rare and often nocturnal, but it lives in many areas of the world.

  • I did too! Me and my stepfather saw one when I was 4 years old. When I asked him about it, he says he still remembers. That was back in the 70's.

  • I believe that the ropen here described by this native is the same species as the creature described by Duane Hodgkinson, the American World War II veteran. See my video called "Ropen-pterodactyl American Eyewitness."

  • I interviewed this Gideon Koro and two other young men on Umboi Island, in 2004. I had just failed to find the ropen myself and had to leave the island because of a lack of time and money. But two other Americans followed me within a few weeks and they got to other places on the island and interviewed other native eyewitnesses.

  • I think it sounds more like a dragon. There are many sightings and even encounters that sound much more real, than fake in history. In people's journals and in standard news papers of the day.

  • Many sightings of ropens do resemble certain characteristics of old "dragon" accounts. Some natives describe the glow of the ropen (which we ascribe to bioluminescence) as like the glow from burning embers. This could relate to the old dragon legends that tell of dragons that "breath fire." At night, a glowing ropen might seem to natives to be a creature that could control fire. Also, both ropens and "dragons" have long tails.

  • Don't be fooled by a video of a so-called "pterosaur" seen flying over a beach in daylight. It looks very much like a Frigate bird. The ropen has a tail about half the wingspan and does not have any white on the throat or chest like the bird in the video.

  • i dont no about the ropen but i do about the "thunder bird". i was in 6th grade...i looked up in the sky and saw this huge thing fly over, i took it as a dragon but then i heard about thunder bird.

  • My expedition on Umboi Island (2004) was just a few weeks before the Guessman-Woetzel expedition. (the real David Woetzel who is an explorer and had nothing to do with a video from a so-called "1924 expedition") I interviewed these three young native men myself and verified Gideon's integrity by testing him with two almost identical drawings.

  • Do you believe that these could even survive in nature. I feel as though they might be able to being that I'm pretty sure they would have no predators what so ever.

  • i think i have seen a creature like this. me and my friend were in my pool and were laying on rafts adn i heard a really weird noise. and i looked up and i see a huge creature flying around. its like waht the other videos show the ropen looks like. it was huge! and i no it wasnt a bird becuase i saw a HUGE tail.

  • I beleive in the Ropen. I've heard rumors that it digs up graves and steals bodies.

  • I saw one of these things in Australia about 6 years ago, It was a full moon I was walking home from work at about 2.00am when I heard a strange noise sound I looked up to see a very large shape like this actually it was that large it blocked out the moon light as it passed over.

  • To get an overview of this living-pterosaur investigation, see the video "Ropen Expedition by Whitcomb."

To get an American's account of what these giant creatures look like, see the video "ropen-pterodactyl American eyewitness."

  • Is there any video about it on YouTUbe? I mean real ropen captured raw. Let me know please. All the best in your search. Never give up.

  • I don't know of any video that is both compelling in itself and is accompanied by sound eyewitness testimony of a creature whose description resembles a pterosaur far more than any common living thing. We still hope for a major expedition that will get a clear photo and/or video footage of a ropen, though.

  • I interviewed these three young men when I was exploring Umboi Island (Papua New Guinea) in 2004. Seven boys had hiked up to the crater lake (Pung) in about 1994 and they ran home in terror after seeing the giant ropen fly over the lake. I later wrote a book about the ropen.

  • hey ropen, u seen todays episode of the ropen on destination truth?

  • i don't understand why they couldn't see the "glow" without the nightvision lens... obviously what they were filming wasn't actually glowing.

  • I believe that night vision equipment is very useful if anyone is lucky enough to videotape a ropen right after the glow is turned off: That is when the shape of the creature can be shown and videotaped. I don't think that anyone of them said that they could not see the glow without night-vision. The ropen was probably far away and they could not get to the location of camera #2 quick enough to get a good naked-eye sighting before the creature left or turned off its glow.

  • "Ropen lights" (by whatever name, in different parts of Papua New Guinea) are quite bright. The challenge for American investigators is being at the right place at the right time. I was two weeks on Umboi Island; the only sighting by my little team was one hour after I had gone to sleep. Most eyewitnesses have had no nightvision.

  • The Destination Truth team videotaped the glow from a ropen that was flying far away. With the naked eye, it was probably hard to tell it from a star. The imaging equipment made it obvious that it was no star.

  • where is this video?

  • can you tell me where to find that video? i really need to find it. thank you.

  • Destination Truth, ropen episode, was an expedition earlier this year. I was interviewed by team members before they left the U.S.. I enjoyed watching their ropen episode the other night. But going into that cave was too dangerous. I advice future explorers to avoid entering any cave like that.

  • Regarding the ropen-expedition part of "Destination Truth," I was hardly involved: Before they left for Papua New Guinea, I assured two of the leaders that the ropen is a real creature, not just a legend. Their expedition was not directly related to my associate's expedition a few weeks earlier (Paul Nation), but both teams obtained similar video footage of the "ropen lights" or bioluminescent glow.

  • i think a great method would be similiar to the attempted lizard bait you mentioned in one of your earlier rcounts, except much larger quantities of fish, clams, and other indigenous meat. if you leave a big pile of it, i think that would be enough to entice a nice glowing ropen for you....

  • Good idea -- I met a villager (David Moke) on Umboi Island who has a cousin (or something) who can catch a wild pig, for a price. That would be my first priority if I am able to go back to Umboi and search near Lake Pung.
