This issue has been all over the news lately and yet nothing is being done. I really can't take it anymore. We never get a break anymore. Planes over our house every minute. No lie. Beyond the noise, how bad is the health effects of all this.
Your a fucking moron. Dont live near an airport if your a pussy who cant deal with noise. Pfft, i have c130s hotdog 500 feet above my house and thats still not even slighty dangerous. No one takes idiots like you seriously.
@Maserati7200 The Nassau County border is all of 2 miles from JFK, even then I think it's pushing it. 20 miles takes you to Suffolk County. I went to school on the Island about 12 (driving) miles from JFK (probably 7 miles or so in a straight line). With that said the residents need to chill out, the airport has been there for much longer than they have. Plus I enjoyed seeing the planes come over campus for the 4 years I went to school there something I kind of miss now that I live in Manhattan
Danger? When's the last time a jet bored a hole in Nassau. Next time you buy a house of you want quiet stay way away from an airport, loser. There are airplanes there. They make frikkin noise.
stfu with ur ocean routing and ur conspiracy theories. the approach varies on the amount of traffic and the weather. runways 22L/R r used for landing when theres high volume and the heavies r using 13L/R for takeoffs and landings. takeoffs on busy days of smaller airplanes take place from 22L/R so that there is not planes taxing out far to get to 4L. Controllers want planes going in the same direction so landing and takeoffs of small planes take place at 22L/R when the heavies r using 13L/R
Give me a break you conspiracy freaks. Quit your bitching. Were not going to do anything to change this. Planes rarely crash and when they do odds of getting struck are minimal. You complain about everything under the sun. Liberal hack.

@TTDMFfreaknew Nassau county is about 20 miles away from JFK. I'd hardly call that living next to an airport.

Here's your solution, Don't move anywhere near a major international airport.
OR DEAL WITH IT.

Not in my backyard! Let someone else
deal with the noise. Perhaps the other runway(s) were closed for whatever reason at the time.

Yup. I'm trying, but none of the US, state, or county reps are listening. They dont even respond to my letters. Maybe go to the media?
