@MetalSights you and Michael Moore are defining capitalism in different ways. If you widdle it down to making a living, nobody is arguing against having a job, every socialist country on Earth has jobs. what Michael Moore is saying is that the system of free corporate enterprise, the freedom of corporations to lie, steal and exploit the working class, is coming to an end. Michael Moore is talking about American capitalism, which is corporatocracy, he is not talking about the concept capitalism.
@truthslap That fatass cocksucker Michael Moore can teach you about the horrors of Capitalism for only 20$ at your local theater. He despises it but has no problem benefiting from it.
Also, I thought the redneck sterotype was living in the hills of Alabama making moonshine and eating roadkill, not living in suburbia with AC, running water, internet connection, and an education....
@MetalSights so as a documentary filmmaker he's not suppose to make a living? every political dissident who has ever written a book, hosted a lecture, or recorded a documentary has been compensated, but only when they kind a willing publisher and customers. he took a career that could have earned him nothing, because he believed in publishing a message. about the redneck stereotype, people with real education don't think people they disagree with should leave the country.
@truthslap I was saying he's extremely hypocritical. And of course they shouldn't HAVE to leave, but if they hate it so bad here but don't mind benefiting from it, they're hypocritical too.
@MetalSights what if they were born and raised here, like Michael Moore, are they "hypocritical" for wanting to improve their own country? if somebody truly "hates" something then they'll give up on it, they'd just pack up and move away. if somebody is trying improve something it usually means they care about it.
@truthslap Michael Moore openly dislikes Capitalism, but uses Capitalism to gain huge amounts of profit from his movies, documentaries shows etc. He doesn't have to leave, that's a little silly, although I know a lot of people who want his fat ass to shut the fuck up.
If he got the socialism he's suggesting, he would lose all his money, and he probably wouldn't like that.
@MetalSights the wealthiest citizens in America are in large numbers calling for higher taxes, Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris was just the latest to publicly endorse a substantially higher tax on the largest corporations. Warren Buffet and other billionaires have been leading that movement. It's not as simple as "capitalism vs socialism", it's about educating people to stand up for progressive policies, even billionaires know it's better to have a strong economy than an unstable oligarchy.
And I think, really, what we're seeing now -- with them, with the banks -- we're seeing the end of capitalism. The end of capitalism as we know it and I say good riddance. It hasn't helped the people or the planet." -- Michael Moore on Larry King Live, Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

@truthslap That wasn't the point; the point was he is a hypocrite.

@MetalSights he criticizes the status quo, he doesn't criticize making an honest living. he's not a hypocrite.
