i bought some at a natural hair show from the sista that invented them. i love them as well.( i wish i knew where i put them since i moved) i used to wear them out and people thought i had bantu knots, they're AWESOME!!!
@chescaleigh I had a friend do the pipe cleaners on my locs and while I LOVED the results, taking the pipe cleaners out was a little more tedious than I cared for. It's wonderful, though, because you can wear the pipe cleaners in your locs (granted you have ones that match your hair color) and had an additional hairstyle until you feel like taking them out. ANYWAY, I will check it out though, because you may do it differently than my friend and anything will help! <3
Just got up on your vids today - very resourceful. My daughter was watching with me and noticed your intro is by one of our family friends, Matt Mahaffey. She's like, "Mom, it's Mr. Matt's version!" I'm like OMG! That's cool enough! I'm going to let him know, he'll be tickled!
thank you thank you thank you! i love the look, but i've always hated curling my locs because of how time consuming (and painful with the rods) it could be. i'm about to go checkout that website for the loops. thanks again!
i did a new tutorial for pipe cleaner curls and honestly, the results are a lot better and it's waaay cheaper. check out the video on my hair channel, chescalocs
thank you as always, very inforative. How long have you had your locs? Also I notice a lot of people on line are interlocking their locs, what made you just keep your twisted instead of locing yours. I just love, love , love the fast forward you use, because you can be on line for hours just listening to everyone and sometimes you just want them to get to the piont.
You could also put your hair in bantu knotts then take them down. That's basically what that product is based on, but bantou knotts are hard to sleep in lol ^.^ this may be better.
very informative!! I'm trying to start up my loc business and i'm always looking for new loc ideas!! that's a great loc-do and it looks comfortable wear u can sleep at night with them!! here's an idea for yuh, purchase a spray bottle that way you won't have to jump in the shower everytime!! lol trust there's nothing wrong with bathing..but it saves time if you don't want the full loc wash!!! k take care and keep it up!
I'm sold on loc loops because of this video!!! They look really cute on you, thanks for sharing! BTW, your videos are set up really nicely, do you use a particular software?
Gurl Thank you so much for this video. I'm a loctician and hate sleeping in those hard perm rods. I'm sure my clients will love them too. I'll order a bunch of them!
let me tell you, i got these and EVERONE loved the way they came ouy. I am a hairsylist so the last think i want to do is my own hair!!! But boy were these easy. People stopped me everywhere and commented!!! I looked so different. I styled into kinda an asymetrical bob. Girl, I looked hot!!! Plus I felt super sexy in the rollers, kinda like a model!
yea i have those...got them at walmart!!! they work the best! mine are so colourful so when i keep them in and go on the street ppl thanink it's a style in itself.
i'm not a big fan. I purchased them and no matter what I do, the curls never stay more than an hour. I've even tired one loc per roller...it's crazy. anyone want to give me some tips on how I can use the differently to get better results...feel free to message me.
that's strange. i just used them about 2 weeks ago and my curls lasted over a week. a few questions, did you use them when your hair was wet? did you make sure your hair was completely dry? did you use a setting gel? and how long are your locks?
Thanks for responding! Okay, my hair is shorter than yours but it grows weird. The front frames my face, but in the back they are well over my collar. All around, I'd they could be called "shoulder length." I never use them on wet hair. I do use a little setting lotion. The width of each loc ranges from 1/8-1/4 inches. The curls will look nice and tight and then gradually as the hour passes they begin to drop. I have "curls" for a week on a few locs but others fall straight.
your hair needs to be wet!! Wash your hair and then use the setting lotion and the rollers, use a dryer or let them dry overnight before removing the rollers and I promise your curls will last at least a week. Locks aren't like loose hair, curling them dry just doesn't work.
...thank you for this chesca!! I'm going to buy a pair right now!! But what should I use as setting gel?? keeping in mind that I would like to as natural products as possible.
If you want perfect curls you ought to braid your hair with about two or three locks per braid after washing your hair. Leave it for about a day or couple hours and you'd be amazed at the results. the curls last for more than a week. Be sure to braid the locks tightly. That's the only method you can use to get those perfect long lasting curls you're seeking.Good luck with your dreads.
braiding your hair does not result in curls. your hair will be crimped, not curly. two very different results. i also did a video on the braid out and you can see the difference.
I have such a hard time being craative with my locs beacause i cant just go into the drugstore or clairs and buy those cut lil hair clips cause my hair wont fit. where can i go online to find loc friendly products?
other than locloops(dot)com??? i'm not really sure. my best advice would be to search around the internet for dreadlock tools and accessories. i'm sure you'll find something
i love your hair vids they are really useful. i dont have dreads yet. but i am getting them soon. i hope i can pull these styles off as good as you do. prob not lmao im white
lol I love how you're able to say that and not sound conceited or stuck up at all...although it seems odd for me to say this...it's very hard to do for most.
haha either that or eventually getting on SNL you would be awesome on that show since you seem to do so well with not only situational comedy but you also seem like you'd do well with physical comedy as well as improv or impressions
Thanks for this video. I'm going to purchase a couple of packs. I have a little under 250 locs so I'm sure I'll need all the rollers I can get. I'm excited!!! Thanks again.
I love your educational videos! I ordered my Lock Loop, and just put them in my hair. I rolled up my damp locks in small sections, and still had about 15 lock loops leftover. I think they are very easy to use,and weightless. I love the fact that there aren't any removable parts, and it seems like there won't be any remnants of this product in my locks. What a relief. I will post picture/video after it dries.
I ordered them today ! I have a webcam.... (scared to use it) I will hook it up.... so u can see how it turned it! thanks for the vids! YOU encouraged me sooo much!
YAY! glad to hear it! can't wait to see your results. get over the fear, you've got nothing to loose. if i can do it, anyone can. thanks for your support!
I love your energy! are you a college student? ok I am asking way too many questions! Your locs looked fabulous! I cannot wait to order these .. I was "surfing" and fell up onto this product and these videos! Your videos are soo much fun to watch!
wow! great and fun video. i'm getting ready to a major cut (they are mid back, prolly to shoulder) so having more options for style once i do is great! thanx! and the song r0x!
you always have the best videos... keep it up. and im getting inspired to doo more with my loc's because if it. although im not at your level yet. lol
i think it's called coil twists...i dunno. if you check out my happy birthday hair video you can see pictures...i actually started them a lot thinner and ended up combining a few of them in the front to thicken them up.
Great video. Your hair looked wonderful! On top of that, you played one of my favorite songs. I'm a Michael McDonald/Doobie Brothers fan but I'm going to check out Self.

Thanks girl! I just ordered 2 packs and I can't wait to try them out. Thanks so much...you don't know how much you've helped me out! Keep up the good work!
OK so the creater of loc loops needs to send you a thank you basket or something!
I am about to get these... I used to be the Queen of curling my locs but it was always such a hassle.... The rollers hurt... I hate sitting under the dryer etc...
actually, she sent me an email and called me to say thank you! she was really sweet. i let mine dry overnight and used a blow-dryer to help them along. best of luck!
i've been reading about these for a while. and lookin at her youtube. im glad they came out great if i eve rstop bein a lazo (a person in the act of being lazy *chuckle*) i'll get some.
it took me awhile to buy mine too. One day I saw a girl w amazing curly hair and I was like damnit! I need to buy those rollers! Its been almost a week and my hair is still pretty curly. I love it
I think I'ma have to me get some of those! Thanks for posting this vid. I was just starting to get into using hair rollers and stuff before I dreaded my hair, so I'm glad I still have a way to get crazy curls!
