@sheila2302 Dont know what the boys name was but he got filmed further down the rd from my son the other boy Ryan and us the parents got dragged into it as well!! Good day though I must admit!
@gageiiiiitttt Ubfortunately there wasn't any black people in the area or I'm quite sure they would of used them in the video! They were really nice lads
because the lead singers got long hair and there's a violinist? nice one. Sounds more like Morrissey than anything, and its called musical influence, not 'ripping off'. You've really got a problem with this video haven't you
the drummer is copying jeremy garas signature drum beat from rebellion and on the tempo change he switches to the haiti drum beat.
they all dress like arcade fire.
the chord progression is partly the same as tunnels by arcade fire and structurally the violin carries a very similar purpose in signalling where the choruses are.
if you're inspired by a band, you dont copy their instrumentation, drum beats and chord progressions, you expand on their ideas and ideologies.
the drum beat from rebellion is a standard 4 beat on the bass drum which isn't hard to stumble across
its also fairly standard for a violin to be prominent in chord changes because its higher pitches make it easier to be distinguished above guitar or bass
seeing as chord progressions are set templates for helping construct a song, its not copying to use one that another band has used
and for the clothes, apart from the lead singers suit there's no similarity. interpol and the jam wear suits.
i know it isnt hard to stumble across and that's why this band could do something interesting rather than just settling with that.
same goes for the violin, imagine if they used the difference in the violin's frequency to exaggerate more lyrically poetic parts of the song.
i personally disagree on the clothes part.
the main problem i have with this band is that they have great lyrics but pursue arrangements which drown out the singers arguably weak voice. you cant see the diamond for the stone.
@gageiiiiitttt So what if it sounds like Arcade Fire ? It's a fantastic tune none the less. I'm an Arcade Fire fan and I was thrilled to stumble upon this great little band. Looking forward to a CD and seeing what they'll come up with in future.
