  • I had his complete album collection & exchanged it with a college pal, for Maynard, as a temporary exchange. We never got back together & BOY ,Do I regret that exchange !!

  • @booksdates: I got to meet the whole band in 1971 or 72--when they played an outdoor gig at a place called the Wild Goose in Elmhurst west of Chicago. I was a 16 year old t-boner player who thought he was pretty durn cool. They were very kind to me and I have a framed copy of the 1971 issue of Downbeat with them on the cover. I told Bill he needed a bone player and Ted Piercefield chimed in and said " I play trombone" Thanks buddy :) They were all WAY cool.

  • thx for sharing this, great stuff, kind of... timeless.

  • My favorite Chase song.I have no clue what it's about and yet it is so inspirational. In my view--NO ONE could soar above a band like Bill Chase--not even Maynard and Maynard was from another planet. You'd also have to go a LONG way to find better vocalists than Terry Richards and GG Shin--you talk about underrated. I'm a pretty good singer, but even in my prime could come nowhere close to covering these parts. Check out GG on Woman of the Dark. WOW!

  • @cubfever7 GG hits a high note at the end of this album that is the vocal companion to those remarkable high notes Chase played. Just incredible vocal power, control and range. And, not everyone knows that GG occasionally played trumpet in Chase--and he's a good trumpeter too.

  • Great band, player, and so much energy.
