  • Unreal. Nice work with that great picture at 1.40 playing lead under a blue moon.

  • da-da da-da da-dah-da

  • HOT DAMN!

  • the covers were no way close to Wolf's songs because with few exceptions the covers took the soul out of Wolf's carefully constructed messages and became riff platforms for the groups. some did so worse yet by flat-out infringing , like most all things ever done by LZ (the thieving magpies) do you think that Wolf's version s could not have had long solos and out of balance form ie.Huber t Sumlin solos etc.. going on and on? Wolf had a theory of music and how it was best created. ,It worked

  • JUST SAW THE MOVIE , CADILLAC RECORDS, THE EARLY BLUES YEARS, MUDDY, WALTER, ETTA JAMES, PLAYED BY BEYONCE, BUT THE FELLOW PLAYING WOLF KILLS IT ,MUST SEE

  • @stick935 I agree he stole it but did you know he played a camp home-help to racist bigot Alf Garnett in the sitcom In Sickness and in Health? You wouldn't belive it was the same man.

  • how amazing,Howlin Wolf is a legend

  • tiny spoon

  • the wolf , the voice, ain't nothing comes close to it, i did'nt know that e.c. paid for his stone though, its a shame that all these great, great blues artists died with very little money like that, damm shame what the corporations do to talent that great. all we have is this great music to listen to , i am greatful for that, and i am greatful i have an ear and heart that loves blues music. real peoples music.

  • @HorrorHound11 uhm. yeah. he was obviously influenced by Waits. ;D

  • It also helps to have your balls drop first to sing blues.:-)))

  • That spoonful - yeah someone’s dying for that spoonful – how true

  • Great!!!Wonderfull....

  • Men lies about that

Some of them cries about that

Some of them dies about that

  • Just discovered this song two minutes ago, fuck is this badass, proof you can be slow and kick ass.

  • @HorrorHound11

Naw , Tom Waits sounds like a white version of "The Wolf" !! ;)

  • @HorrorHound11

Naw , Tom Waits sounds like a white version of the "Wolf"!

  • @adnasatir .. yeah plus tom lowers his voice when he sings ..

  • @free2mention "A lot of people try to 'cop the Wolf' ~ Chester Burnett

  • @adnasatir First few times I heard Tom Waits, I thought he was a big ol' black guy.

  • @adnasatir agree

  • nice post - thanks

  • LOL

  • Why would anyone waste time with the shrieking air raid sirens aka the American Idol contestants when this man's music graces the earth? I'd rather hear the line "It could be a spoonful of water" a hundred times in a row than listen to one song from Simon's latest pick.

  • I wish these great blues signers had goten the respect they deserved while they were in their prime. Great post!

  • "Everybody fighting about that spoonfull".

  • ITS THE BUSIZNEZZ REAL TALK!!!!

  • One of the best blues songs period.

  • I'm slow, I've listened to this song over and over and just realized that he's talking about heroin... Wow.

  • We love real folk and we love this real music!

    Peace bro.

  • the real blues by a real man of the blues!!!

  • Are Howling Wolf and Howling Jack the same person?

  • They don't make musicians like they used to.

  • This is a great Wedding Song.

  • I used to think the Cream version was better than this...

    I've changed my mind.

  • @chilcox Me too!!! But since I simply love every single song Cream ever wrote or covered I still think it's on par with this. And Wolf has just become my favorite solo blues artist after B.B. King!!! This is REAL MUSIC lol. Half a century ago... Makes you wonder if we've stopped progressing...

  • @Solus77

Both of you are high! Cream better than Wolf is sin!

  • @spr95que Nope, Cream's the best. Howlin' is amazing tho, no one can say otherwise.

  • @Solus77

YOU are an Lost! Cream didn't believe they were better than Wolf! Silly Clowns!! LOL

  • @spr95que LoL n00b, what do you know about that? Don't post things like that when you don't know shit. How can they be compared even, I don't get it, what's the purpose. They made covers of his songs that were as good as his originals. Listen to music and stop arguing. Cream was the best in my opinion. You have yours and I respect it. Bye!

  • I love Hubert man.

  • Amazing. The best.

  • Wolf was a Mason. See the ring on his left pinky finger.

  • ONE OF THE TRUEST SONGS OF ALLTIME!!!!!

  • have a look at the loose connections version of this song

  • I love heavy metal....and Howlin' Wolf!

  • @oldsalty7 cunt

  • @omfgwtfbbq99 behave!

  • @oldsalty7 actually Wolf's original guitar player Willie Johnson, and things Wolf originated to carefully arrange his material and songs he did even written by others were a huge contribution, ultimately, to the origin of heavy metal

  • real stuff real art real music

  • Actually, you have drink cigarettes and smoke alcohol (joke) Wolf smoked a pipe more. NOTE: Photo at 1:38-2:00 is someone's interesting painting derived from my iconic image of VERY good friend Chester Burnett a k a HOWLIN' WOLF, collaborative kindred spirit, mentor, harp teacher - with whom I made 2 songs coming out soon I hope + those photos, his advanced full-photo business cards (at howlingwolfphotos) along with the 10 page story of how all that came to pass. thanks for posting this vid!

  • One of the truest songs ever written

  • that voice and playing rips right to the soul!

  • yesterday we had some cannabis

we were smoking and listening to this great music

    fuxing excelent! brilliant!

  • LOVE HOWLIN' WOLF!

  • that man had a commandigly listenable voice

  • his voice is amazing

  • whered u find that picture at liek 1:45 the drawing of wolf with the moon

or could u please send me that link

  • @igessthsisgrwnup search on google images and you might find it...

  • thanks for posting this

  • Feel that voice

  • Great one. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Composed by the legendary Willie Dixon

  • Can't go wrong with The Wolf! Great Pictures.

  • Great post!! I just wonder how much alcohol do I need to drink and how many cigarettes do I have to smoke, before I can sing like that...?! ;)

  • lol.. couldn't tell ya... but i'm drinkin my share!!!

  • Hehehe, thanks anyway, lol.. Keep rockin' !

  • Actually, Howlin' Wolf didn't drink or smoke too much, he was one of the few bluesman that actually had money with him all the time and didn't waste it in vices!

    Great voice!

  • he still couldn't afford his own heastone when he died.

Eric Clapton paid for it later.

  • @commandocucumber Yep, those record company devils sure know how to rob a man.

  • @commandocucumber Not True. Wolf was fairly well to do all through his career. He wasn't a drinker he didn't gamble or use drugs. He didn't have fancy cars or a lavish car. He preferred a Pontiac Station Wagon to Cadillac's.

  • @mtyemti He drank, we drank together, twice, in S.F. and Chicago, as viewable and discussed on my website including us facing down a gun at a bar. But Wolf (my good friend, kindred spirit collaborator, etc.) was no alcoholic and would fire a band member showing up drunk. He was not well-to-do but he GOT BY, even keeping Muddy Waters afloat when Muddy went broke) but Wolf HAD to drive that wagon with his band + small trailer with instruments wherever possible to make any profit on low paid gigs

  • @bloozmonkey111 he gargles on Drano......try it

  • @bloozmonkey111 Now on top of all the cigarettes and alcohol throw in a lifetime of the humiliation of being treated as a second class citizen and if you can play the guitar you too may be able to sing with the soul of Howlin Wolf. Peace.

  • @bloozmonkey111 one fuckload.

  • @bloozmonkey111

about 60 mabey? :P im well on my way anyway.

  • @davemunrothumb Ive smoked over 60 cigs n Im real deep but I started smokin at 12 so it might be more then 60 lmfao

  • @bloozmonkey111 way too effin many bro!

  • best blues song for me.

  • ''Real music for real people''

    I agree!

  • @turmeleva cant be more right

  • @turmeleva yesssir!! we got a bar named after him in new orleans...lol im off the spoonful ha!

  • @Iwannariot77 it might be "named after him" and even copped to some extent his original Wolf logo cartoon Wolf image, but it's barely if at all related. Doesn't even have a photo of him or play blues particularly. The owner got use of that patented Howling Wolf name due to snagging it when license needed renewing and those who should have paid attention to that did not, which is no surprise but that's all I will bother to say about that. It's done.

  • Oh my God...that´s legend

  • great song!

  • one of the best songs ever, lyrcis and music !
