Same thing with "government funded universal healthcare" the government will then be able to tell you what to eat, what you can and can't do and where you go on the grounds that if its bad for your health you can't do it. Example: The government issues food stamps and tells you what you can and can't buy. Isn't a National ID card system a GOOD thing? I an official Ontario proof of ID photo card. Can't you Yanks see the benefits of one smart card to act as your card for common state and Federal level services?
