  • stop talking fock and start playin rock

  • damn, youre a talkative fuck, aint ya.

  • 4:33 whats that thing called

  • You talk too much. I wanted to hear the pickup... not you.

  • You spent 85% of the video talking about things that no one cares about. If someone wants to know where you got your pickguard from, they'll ask. The point of the video was a "pickup review", and not you going into a Shakespearean soliloquy about your gear.

  • what do you think about the direction in the instalation of the tone zone in neck?

I noticed by Tonezone has different bobbin shapes on it... and i`ve hear that it affects your sound...

  • My Jackson has a Tone Zone in the neck and an Evolution in the bridge... the evo is light and the zone is heavy. It sounds amazing

  • hi,great work...a question, the tonezone in neck...its a tonezone bridge model put in neck position or its a neck model of tonezone...thxs.

  • talk about sound and using a v-amp? fail!

  • God i love a pick up that has the vowel sounds the more exagerated the better. I think im going to pu this on a fender with some area 67 strat pickups

  • Cool stuff dude.... cool stuff

  • Tone Zone should be in the bridge position!! d'oh!

  • @spenspuma Yeah but it sounds too badass in the neck position :P

  • Do You have any problems with sustain of the guitar at 3:27 - 3:30? its go to end or not?

  • what is that song you started on 4:15, do you have tab??

  • Awesome demo man!! How much did you set the bass, treble and mids at on your amp? Thanks.

  • The tone zone is sounds amazing in the neck :)

  • 00:00 to 3:20, we give a shit

  • Jim Jam,, greetings From another Jim Jam

  • I hear that the Tone Zone is what used to be the EVH signature pickup until he left Ernie Ball. Is that true? Would I get the Van Halen sound with the Tone Zone(obviously it would be in the bridge pickup)? And I'm using an Ibanez RG350DX.

  • OK, u can shred, a bit. were all impressed. Happy now ?

  • I searched for a Bridge pickup for my selfmade guitar and now i´m definitely gonna take the ToneZone.

    Cool playing man.

p.s.sorry for my bad english i´m german

  • how do u get the color selection on the tone zone cause i cant find the different types

  • Just play the bloody thiiiiiiing!!! =) Awsome anyways!!!

  • on the dimarzio website it says u cant get a tone zone in the neck it is only for the bridge or did u use the bridge one and put it in the neck ???

  • the sustain is not very good ..

  • I just bought a Tone Zone (bridge) for my PGM301, hope it sounds as good as yours !

  • this guitar have the edge floyd?? or the lo pro?? beacuse im comfused about the rg 570 s i dont know if are different models with diferent floyds thanks!!!

  • @aintnaive his is a lo-trs.

  • talk less play more.

  • Is the body basswood ?

  • @marcanb28 yes

  • made famous by bumblefoot...

  • Great playing! you make it look so easy. And i really do love the PAF sound! Tone Zone in the neck position sounded great thanks

  • why can't you people just shut up and just let us hear the god damn thing !!!

  • wow man your picking motions look so tiny and effortless are you alternate or economy picking?

  • what is the name of the 550 bridge pickup because that is the most kickass sounding pickup ever devised and if you know where i could buy one would be cool but if you don't just finding out the name would help. thanks

  • Whats the amp you are talking about exactly ?

  • i remember putting the tone zone in the neck by accident, but ended up sounding awesome. the air norton in the bridge didn't sound as good though lol.

  • Its the intro to erotic nightmares by steve vai, its not even right. Its just A with with a little F3 and G thing on the E string

  • @chickenbum

at least you can recognise it. if he wants it to play it differently so be it, it's still erotic nightmares in the end....

  • Wat did he play at 4:14

    That was sick!

  • I'm gonna put a Tone Zone S in the middle position of my Strat. Judging by the sound here, it should work awesome! Combining it with my Duncan TB-59 in the bridge should really rip the "brown sound" and more. I'm also going to replace the tone pot with a "fader" that when the switch is in the "2" position, I can pan to which pickup I want the most/least sound from.

  • you have oldschool monitors. that makes you awesome in my eyes

  • il colore di questa chitarra è rivoltante...

  • I like your reviews. You seem like a good ol' boy!

  • Hi! How do you get that kinda sound from the v-amp? I own one and can't get that kind of sound!!! I also have the Tone zone too!!

    Thanks!!

  • @varholl He's got the tone zone on neck position, and paf pro on bridge, maybe you have tone zone on bridge and paf pro on neck.

  • скока пездеть мона то а? Х_х

  • wtf... 4:42 video and over 3 minutes you re talking....

  • I hate to say it, but you can't get a good sound out of a Marshall DSL no matter what you do...

  • you couldnt be any more wrong, i played one yesterday and i must say, you cant get anything to sound BAD

  • How about I just rephrase what I had commented before about the DSL; I cannot get a good sound out of a Marshall DSL no matter what I do... I have played a couple and had a hard time zeroing in on my sound... My opinion, not law. Sorry to piss off everyone else that disagrees

  • Yup, sorry, but have to agree. I owned one for two years as well as a Mesa single recto with reverb. Had the mesa at college and the dsl at home and after playing my recto for a year I came home to my dsl and couldn't believe how horrible it sounded. Tried everything from boost pedals to eqs and could never get a sound I liked out of it. I have heard them used before and sound great, but for me I guess I got one of the frying bacon sounding marshalls.

  • Should'nt the Tone Zone go in the bridge and the PAF in the neck? That's how DiMarzio recomends it anyway.

  • doesn't rly matter too much, it's just because the tz might be louder than the paf but that can be balanced out by adjusting the height anyway

  • Double Tone Zone combo is the one that Paul Gilbert has in many guitars, and it's really killer.

Tone Zone is a bridge humbucker, but it plays good in neck position too.

  • lol @ the skype sign in noise at 2:15

  • hahah i remember the skype noise as it happened

  • @Esbanez nice playing man. Do you Suggest Super distortion , Seymour Duncan JB , or ToneZone on Ibanez Rg serries Basswood

  • those little 212's suck dix

  • la bandera de mexico /m/

  • wow, For the love of God sounded amazing!

  • im your lover

  • how does the tz sound clean in the neck?

  • wow. this makes my decision to buy tone zones for the bridge even harder :S now I want one in the neck too haha

  • aaa ummm aaaa aaummmm !!!!!!

  • you a yngwie fan then me to

  • Kool but it'd be better to put the tonezone (higher output) in the bridge? at least that is what I did :P

    Rock On

  • you're right

  • Thanks :)

  • 3 minutos de habla, basta

  • my question is this, how does this combination sound when you dont have special patches for each sound? meaning i have a basic sound...just switching from one to the other, does the tone zone get muddy in the neck position?

  • nice idea. i'd advise people trying this to mount the neck pickup lower (adjust the springs) to compensate for greater string vibration at the neck position - otherwise there will be too much volume variation. That's the only reason why you're advised to put higher output pickups at the bridge.

  • Are your pickups Series or Parallel?

  • series im pretty sure

  • I placed tonezone on the neck and paf pro on the bridge, im unhappy with the volume swells, in the clean the neck is too loud and treble is sounds low in comparison:(

  • Nice!

Might swap my PAF and Tone Zone over...

  • I'm thinking of getting a bill lawrence L500L in the bridge and a tone zone in the neck. Could you tell me if this would work together?

    Btw, your tone is amazing!

  • will probably be ok, bit worried that the L500l might be too hot but then again the tone zone is pretty hot too.

  • Well that sounded pretty good lol. Wished u just let yourself play for another minute or 2 after you were done talking =x.

  • tone zone in the neck? kinda odd, usually found in the bridge

  • Thats the whole point of this video!

  • @baozakerga I know Michael Romeo has a Tone Zone in the neck of his guitars, it sounds so killer.

  • man that guy can play.

  • 1/2 the video was over before he even mentioned the video, moved on

  • shut up fag

  • soooooo should i buy them?

  • Sorry for my confusion but did you have the ToneZone in the Bridge and Neck positions?

  • dude you talk too much just play.

  • For anyone who has chops and are going to put vid like this up. Please start at a basic level, plug straight into amp. Then show us how it can sound with patches, pedals, and so forth. I have run into fellow guitarist who got sold on a pick up or guitar. Then found out that the player used pedals and patches.

  • Colorful guitar, guy.

  • I like how you say, "let me play some shit so you can hear it," then you play for about ten seconds and it trails off. LOL! Seriously, shut the hell up and play the damn thing! (you play great, BTW, so that's not an insult)

  • Is that an alder body guitar.

  • basswood

  • Then that's a bad idea to put The Tone Zone in the neck. I would have went with an Air Norton in the neck.

  • Its pickup review or your gear -.- Jeez...

  • one thing i dont get is how ppl can afford all this equpment

  • i think he said it was just a stock ibanez

  • why would someone block his tremolo? i don't get it.. just get yourself a fixed bridge guitar in the first place

  • So that you can unblock it if you feel like playing with a trem?

  • derdude

A lot of guys use blocks made out of just about anything(such as bronze, aluminum...etc) to dial in the tone their looking for... Kinda like a String Ferrel Block for trems! I had a local machine shop mill me one out of bronze for my Deluxe ash strat and my god did the guitar come alive... It cost $85 two years ago and it was well spent!

  • At 3:00 I'm like "Will you friggin' play already?!" Jesus...

  • the tonezone is a bridge pickup isnt it?

  • can be either. as with the PAF pro. i have just the opposite of this guys set up. i have a tone zone in the bridge and a PAF pro in the neck. oh, cant forget the yngwie single coil in the middle

  • I think I'm sold on an Air Norton+Tone Zone combo. I love the open feel of the Tone Zone, reminds me of Buckethead.

  • your good man and what does anybody suggest if im deciding between either an Ibanez RG770 reissue or an ESP M-1000 the ibanez has dimarzio's and the esp has emg 81, and 85

  • gotta love those 81 85 combos.

  • yea cuz i have an esp ex-400 now with emg 81/85 and its solid im just wondering wether or not i should go for the dimarzio

  • esp has better stock pickups the ibanez will only gain value so if you decide you hate it down the road sell it for more than you paid :) lol i like the m-1000s but that rg770 is sexy especially lazer blue :)

  • i say get a 550, better model in my opinion....and you cant go wrong with dimarzios

  • really? i actually didnt think bout that but it would be cheaper ill try one out before i decide though

  • yeah personaly i'd rather have a 550 with acouple of pafs in it than almost any other guitar.....what more do you want from a guitar? great playing, great sounding, great looking...check out paul gilberts review of them, search ibanez rg 550 paul gilbert =-)

  • yea i saw that paul's my favorite guitarists knowing that him satch and vai all use ibanez made me look into them and im glad i did

  • 2.10 skype!!

  • Its up to you where u wanna put your pickups...try different methods cause its not wrong....its ur style....but the method Dimrzio suggests is Tonezone to bridge, and PAF pro to neck....

  • thats because the Tone Zone has more output than the PAF Pro. the bridge pickup should have the same or more output than the neck pickup.

    cheers.

  • There's an Australian kid in my French class, I don't care for him. It's not because he's from Australia but because he rambles on incoherently and I don't know what the hell he's talking about. He thinks I have a disorder.

  • you made my day xD

  • lol I like you. NOT in a weird way...

  • hey dude, stop talking and PLAY! lol

  • tone zone in the neck? Doesnt the tone zone have too much output compared to the paf to be in the neck?

  • is the tone zone in the neck?

  • Yes

  • you talk too much... the guitar speech for itself

  • haha.. really, 100+ watt amps and full stacks indoors is a little overkill.. would hate to be his neighbors... ill stick with a 50 watt 2x12 combo for indoors

  • shut the fuck uppppppppppppp!!!!!!

  • lol... 2 412 amp cabs 4 a BEDROOM

  • so?

  • i'm not even gonna bother answering that

  • i asked because in the vid he says that the tone zone is in the neck and the PAF in the bridge. i was wondering if he misspoke in the video.

  • You talk too much. Let me hear pickups not stupid things aout your guitars.

  • I made a FrankenJem and I'm going to be putting the Tone Zone in the bridge of my strat! I must say it sounds great! Your an awsome player too! I must watch more of your video's. I am getting ready to buy the pick up so I did a such to find out some feed back on it and to here the sound and found you! Cool!

  • How does ToneZone sound of neck position of a basswood body? The in the bridge an X2N? (basswood body)

  • Look up the video by LeftyRobb, he has a demo up with that Combo ( i think his body is Basswood)

    Great video, btw!

  • it dsont sound like a neck

pickup because its not u nob

  • LOL

  • put your tone zone in the bridge position, if it's unpredictable, coz it's designed as a bridge pick up..you're doing it all wrong dude. the PAF should be in the neck as well..watch the Paul Gilbert - di marzio review.

  • You know i've been noticing alot of people have been using the tone zone in the neck some people say it sound fantastic in the neck and some say it sucks.I do know though that micheal romeo from symphony x is using it in the neck.

  • isnt the tonezone supossed to be in the bridge?

  • Cleane please!

  • How is the ToneZone for cleans?

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

  • Don't dog the digital stuff, lol. You should clearly hear the difference, but these pickups are similar in lots of ways. I find it interesting to include them both in a review. I have actually been wondering myself between the two which I would like best and would like to hear more coming out of the same amp on the same day kinda thing.

  • DiMarzio FTW. [2]

  • Dude, you sound great, but SHUT UP already and PLAY THE DAMN GUITAR!!!! We don't wanna hear you talking about how great the pickups are, we want to HEAR how great the damn pickups are! :) Nice playing, though!

  • nice job mate!

  • Love your ax! It's fucking crazy! And it's cool to listen to people from other countries speak...the dialect differences are interesting lol.

  • I need to make my guitar sound like that and I need to learn how to play like that.

  • DiMarzio FTW.

  • beautiful guitar playing.

    band? pm me!

  • hey man, im about to move cities, hopefully ill get into a band when i get there

  • Man, plugging guitar into digital amplification will not show any difference between PAF and Tone zone because it does not provide any natural guitar characteristics:))))lol

  • same for the ibanez, probally a basswood body, so definatly not alot of tone there....

    works for highgain shred though

  • Basswood is fine. Flo is made of basswood. Flo sounds like heaven.

  • Satch's is made of basswood, it has tone, you just deaf.

  • see why the fuck does my guitar not sound like this, i mean im using a pussy 10 watt practice amp and i have a x2n,super distort, tonezone. And it just sounds the fcking same, in an ibanezRg370. can anyone explain this to me?

  • ur amp sucks so it sounds bad.

  • dude. YOUR AMP CONTRIBUTES MORE THAN 70% OF YOU TONE TO YOUR SOUND

what happens if you have a great guitar with a bad player. you get bad sound

what happens if you have a good guitar with a bad amp

  • DiMarzio makes the best damn pickups, fuck everything else.

I have a Tone Zone in the neck of my ESP LTD MH-300, and a Super Distortion in the bridge, and it's the best damn thing I've never played with.

  • PG whinyness is from the basswood maple combo of his guit, combine that with the tone zones loud and highly responsive dynamics and you get that.

  • i gotta rg220 b (non prestiege model) with 2 tone zones and a evo single coil and i cant seem to get the tone out of it i want....i want the pg whineyness and high end and i just cant seem to get it, help?

  • you need PAF pros then you get that paul gilbert or micheal schencker whine ROCK ON DUDE!!

  • i have a rg 3120, with the configuration the other way.put the zone in the bridge.sounds good 2...

  • nice shred

  • I like it. Nevermind the complaining posers who don't get it's a simple demonstration as well as that the bridge and neck pickups definitely sounded different. :D

  • awesome pickups, can you play a song?
