You spent 85% of the video talking about things that no one cares about. If someone wants to know where you got your pickguard from, they'll ask. The point of the video was a "pickup review", and not you going into a Shakespearean soliloquy about your gear.
God i love a pick up that has the vowel sounds the more exagerated the better. I think im going to pu this on a fender with some area 67 strat pickups
I hear that the Tone Zone is what used to be the EVH signature pickup until he left Ernie Ball. Is that true? Would I get the Van Halen sound with the Tone Zone(obviously it would be in the bridge pickup)? And I'm using an Ibanez RG350DX.
Hello friend, I have a problem and wanted to know what to do.
I request to install a Tone Zone (bridge) and a Paf Pro (neck) but the Tone Zone has little volume but high failed to reach the volume for the Paf Pro.
this guitar have the edge floyd?? or the lo pro?? beacuse im comfused about the rg 570 s i dont know if are different models with diferent floyds thanks!!!
what is the name of the 550 bridge pickup because that is the most kickass sounding pickup ever devised and if you know where i could buy one would be cool but if you don't just finding out the name would help. thanks
i remember putting the tone zone in the neck by accident, but ended up sounding awesome. the air norton in the bridge didn't sound as good though lol.
I'm gonna put a Tone Zone S in the middle position of my Strat. Judging by the sound here, it should work awesome! Combining it with my Duncan TB-59 in the bridge should really rip the "brown sound" and more. I'm also going to replace the tone pot with a "fader" that when the switch is in the "2" position, I can pan to which pickup I want the most/least sound from.
How about I just rephrase what I had commented before about the DSL; I cannot get a good sound out of a Marshall DSL no matter what I do... I have played a couple and had a hard time zeroing in on my sound... My opinion, not law. Sorry to piss off everyone else that disagrees
Yup, sorry, but have to agree. I owned one for two years as well as a Mesa single recto with reverb. Had the mesa at college and the dsl at home and after playing my recto for a year I came home to my dsl and couldn't believe how horrible it sounded. Tried everything from boost pedals to eqs and could never get a sound I liked out of it. I have heard them used before and sound great, but for me I guess I got one of the frying bacon sounding marshalls.
my question is this, how does this combination sound when you dont have special patches for each sound? meaning i have a basic sound...just switching from one to the other, does the tone zone get muddy in the neck position?
nice idea. i'd advise people trying this to mount the neck pickup lower (adjust the springs) to compensate for greater string vibration at the neck position - otherwise there will be too much volume variation. That's the only reason why you're advised to put higher output pickups at the bridge.
I placed tonezone on the neck and paf pro on the bridge, im unhappy with the volume swells, in the clean the neck is too loud and treble is sounds low in comparison:(
For anyone who has chops and are going to put vid like this up. Please start at a basic level, plug straight into amp. Then show us how it can sound with patches, pedals, and so forth. I have run into fellow guitarist who got sold on a pick up or guitar. Then found out that the player used pedals and patches.

A lot of guys use blocks made out of just about anything(such as bronze, aluminum...etc) to dial in the tone their looking for... Kinda like a String Ferrel Block for trems! I had a local machine shop mill me one out of bronze for my Deluxe ash strat and my god did the guitar come alive... It cost $85 two years ago and it was well spent!
can be either. as with the PAF pro. i have just the opposite of this guys set up. i have a tone zone in the bridge and a PAF pro in the neck. oh, cant forget the yngwie single coil in the middle
your good man and what does anybody suggest if im deciding between either an Ibanez RG770 reissue or an ESP M-1000 the ibanez has dimarzio's and the esp has emg 81, and 85

doesn't rly matter too much, it's just because the tz might be louder than the paf but that can be balanced out by adjusting the height anyway

DiMarzio makes the best damn pickups, fuck everything else.
I have a Tone Zone in the neck of my ESP LTD MH-300, and a Super Distortion in the bridge, and it's the best damn thing I've never played with.

PG whinyness is from the basswood maple combo of his guit, combine that with the tone zones loud and highly responsive dynamics and you get that.
