  • does that even count as a monte carlo anymore

  • @WowzaBoyz probably not

  • so do you put a water hose on the end of a gas pump nozzle and put the other end in your tank? awesome

  • Does anyone have specs on the car would like to know, what it takes do make 3600hp and what times and tyre it runs.

  • they should take those gay monte carlo plastics off and put batman plastics on that bitch!

  • Tim Lynch is such a badass. That sucks that he crashed that mustang while filming Pass Time

  • who would want to put 3600 hp in a 99 monte carlo?

  • Drive a prius, they need the gas!

  • cool but that is a shit video nobs

  • lot of armchair mechanics in here

  • bart is such a fag haha

  • bart is such a fag haha

  • thats an engine with wheels and brakes ^^

  • the biggest misconception on these youtube horse power postings is the fact that different people rate hp differently, i think when this car is tuned and ready for the graph there going to find is has alot less hp then they think, thats just my opinion, i bet it has almost a thousand less hp on a real dyno deck with 1st class engineers rating it on UPDATED software, GUARANTEE IT

  • @jaroncyr dude, there aint a dyno in the country that can rate this car properly, the 3600hp is at idle you moron

  • Mike tries too much weird stuff . I seen Andy Jensens camaro run in the 3 's in the eigth before moran and moran got the credit for being the first . Andys car was a single turbo SMALL BLOCK !!

  • did you put firecrackers in the exhaust pipes at 0:09 ? :D

this is awesome, would wake my neighbors in 2 mile radius :D

  • Please tell me ... What king of fuel he running ... Race gas or something like nitro methane ?,

    Good vid :) 5 stars :P

  • its about traction

  • I dont think promods are limited to 3200 lbs. In ADRL i dont even think there is a weight rule.

  • im really? 3600 HP or is it on the tac..lol

  • I don't doubt his power at all, he just didn't build the car to take that much power at first. I'm glad he's finally putting down some good consistant numbers that he should have been running a long time ago. But the high 5 second cars better not get to comfortable. The Lynchmob and Steve Petty are knocking on the 5 second door with a 10.5W tire at 3400 lbs. 2 tenths the way they roll aint gonna take long.

  • Even without the turbo's it probably makes over 1000hp. One of the kid's i know his father runs a 1400hp nitrous engine camaro. It makes 1000hp all motor and 400hp from nitrous.

  • ONLY 3600 hp?

  • you dumbassfuck, do you imagine what 3600 hp mean?

  • Mike is coming out with a new car! Better car with more power!

  • Comment removed

  • 20 thosand horse wont do u no good if u cant get it to hook up horse power will only take u so far then its all bout the car. Good job Mike

  • Awesome. IM GETTING A 2 STEP!

  • hahahaha-_-

  • you have not a clue what going fast is,,,,,do you? its not about power, its applying at the right time and whole set up that counts.

  • Ok I see what you mean. If I apply 65hp in my Fiat Uno 20 secs before mike applies his 3600hp I might just win!!!!

  • honestly what about that car is still a monte carlo? is there even one original part? lol

  • looks like the windshield might be stock, but thats about it

  • Nope not even the windshield haha

  • The badges on it?

    LOL

  • why does it take 3600 hp for a chevy to run low 6's when dan millen can do it in a mustang in the 10.5 outlaw with 2000 hp?figure that one out

  • what i think is funny is that an eclipse can run constant low 6s making maybe 1200rwhp

  • Brent Rau's car is way lighter and putting out around 1400+ rwhp.

Moran is limited to 3200 lbs. in his class

  • Moran is in Pro Modified now his car has to weigh 2650lbs w/ driver. Other sanctioning bodies may require more weight but I doubt 3200lbs is the requirement anywhere he'd run this car

  • Actually only 1200+RWHP, 1400+ to the crank. They limited him to a smaller turbo and they added weight to the car and still ran low 6's. This is a beautiful car though, engine, and what PSI is the Supercharger at?

  • Comment removed

  • Probably not because to run that fast you need a tube chassis and they weigh a lot and good luck making a consistent 1200whp in an eclipse even if you drop an Evo 9 MIVEC in it no one has been able to push them to that extreme of a level and not blow shit up every time they dyno the engine

  • @ghood666 I dont know if you have ever heard of Brent Rau or John Shepard, but you should look them both up. Brent Rau has the fastest eclipse rear wheel drive 4g63t, the block is made by Magnus. John Shepards eclipse is the fastes AWD with John Shepard tranny attached to a 4g63t.

  • @solhays85 I'd say Rau's car is a full tube chassis which really makes it an Eclipse bodied racecar. No one thinks Brad Personett has a 68 Camaro, he has a 68 Camaro bodied Pro Mod. These cars are impressive but if you've ever seen them race in person they break constantly. I love racing imports but I think they need to stick to road racing. For the money I'd have to spend to R&D a 6 second import I could go buy a Pro Mod and run high 5's which is more fun then high 6's.

  • @ghood666 Agreed, but no one can deny that a 4banger putting down over 1100hp is something to bat an eye at. And I also believe that you will never see a 4banger put down NEAR the power as a v8. Pretty much all cars racing in the 6s and 5s have to be worked on every run. And I was referring to your comment about the Evo9 MIVEC, its a 4g63. Of course no stock block MIVEC will do that, only Magnus has done it so far.

  • @solhays85 I work on a Evo 9 time attack car and I'm amazed at the power that little engine can make and we don't have to do too much work on it. But an 1100hp 4 cylinder is gonna need rebuilding just like a Pro Mod. My family business is building racecars so I've worked on Pro Mods as well they are amazing machines. They are the craziest things to drive. Imagine sticking your head in a paint shaker while driving a car at 200 MPH

  • @ghood666 I would kill for a ride in one of these cars. Ive been into the 9s but thats it. Pretty crazy if you ask me..lol.. If I didnt seem clear, i was agreeing with you about pro mods or 4cyls having to be worked on a lot. Definitely not disagreeing. I think once you are into the low 9s and below, you are working on the cars WAY more than 10s and higher. Ive seen SVTs run low 10s for a 2 or 3 seasons with out work, out side of the normal shit.

  • @solhays85 I know you are agreeing w/ me. We built a 64 GTO at my shop should be getting finished soon that will run mid 7's and it has a passenger seat. It actually runs a bigger motor then Moran and Personett have and similar turbos it's just scaled back. And it's a steel body instead of carbon fiber. The guy wants to be able to drive it on the streets and throw some slicks on it and take it to the track

  • @solhays85 Yeah, this is fun to watch, but I ain't doin' it! I thought it was something going from 13.20s (Plymouth Valiant with a built 318) to 9.80s (same car with a tricked out 440 on some Giggle gas). I sure as hell cannot imagine running in the low 6s, high 5s; since I damn near shit on myself when I launched that 2700lb Valiant with the 440! Oh and btw, I ran that 440 for 2 seasons with no problems; then, I only had to redo the valve springs.

  • @dsmrollerz90 that eclipse cant be driven home.. a good hand full of V8 draggers out there now at days can.. and there not converted to RWD like the eclipse your talking about.. your welcome

  • @dsmrollerz90 when has brent EVER went low 6s? isnt his record a 6.82? dont the pro mod guys who are dialed in run a second quicker than rau? could you make anymore dumbass statements?

  • @dsmrollerz90 because its lighter

  • @dsmrollerz90 The Titan Elcipse is only 2300 lbs.......

  • @dsmrollerz90 1090awhp hp its all wheel drive tho so its got more traction ahaaha so thats equal with a 2000hp v8 that can go 6s but 3600hp for shame haha

  • @dsmrollerz90 what i think is funny is that a top fuel dragster can run 3s.....dont see any imports break those numbers

  • @dsmrollerz90 uk whats funny about that? haha the worlds fastest eclipse runs an 8 something so no an eclipse with 1200 front wheel horse power not rear wheel they dont make rear wheel cannot run anything close to 6's

  • @shaggydaboy2 They make awd eclipses dip shit.

  • ~ahem~...you mean high 5's.

Moran never get a chance to use 100% of the power. Plus, making power was the least thing he's concerned about. Hopefully when he gets a new car then we'll see it consistently in mid-lower 5's and 250+ mph.

  • wat about the vette that does 6`s wit little over 2000hp

  • Because the actual BHP and EHP are only a small part of a dragsters time. You have to have the setup and the know-how to turn the power into speed, quickly, instead of turning it into tire smoke. A million horsepower does no good if you just spin the tire. The relative weight of the cars is huge; THEORETICALLY a 1500lb car with a 500HP engine will run= to a 3000lb car with 1000HP, but ONLY in theory. Gearing, traction, lag, reaction, even drag will make differences in ET's. Skill is key.

  • Hey 02streetracer, please don't make us other Ford guys look bad by saying moronic things on here. Millen has never ran low 6's on a W tire. Lynch had the record at 6.20 unless he broke the record again. Millens fastest pass is a 6.67 @ 215, thats pretty far off from Mike Morans high 5's @ over 250 mph. Check your facts so you don't keep making yourself look stupid. And Millen weighs less than Lynch because he only runs a single turbo, but you wouldn't know that cause you don't know ish.

  • @02streetracer haha very true

  • @02streetracer cuz its a chevy lol i love raggin on the chevy boys. for rules even with the smaller exhaust we struggle to get more exhaust we still rack them torque and horses up

  • @02streetracer ever think that this car isnt 3600 hp?

  • @02streetracer wheel spin is a bitch

  • @02streetracer Because this runs high 5's and it takes a lot of power to go from low sixes to high fives....Duh!!!

  • @allroundpower this car is in a horsepower & speed range that no jap powered car has ever came close to, and never will come close to.

  • @Topfueltrooper You guys own the drag strip, fair enough. Japanese and European cars own the track though. I respect the engineering and dedication to pure power, and doing 0-60 and 1/4th mile pulls are hella fun, but at the end of the day our cars are designed for the track, not the drag strip. Some of us are retards but most of us aren't going bother arguing pure power vs handling... it's comparing apples to oranges.

  • @02streetracer

Tim Lynch fastest in the world in outlaw 10.5 in a 02 stang in 2009, now he's the fastes outlaw 10.5 car in the world in a 2010 "vette". Mind you the power comes from a completely custom engineered engine. Neither Chevy or Ford. So I guess what it boils down too is Aerodynamics, power to weight ratio & chassis tune. You see alot more bastard child ford guys running Chevrolet engines than vise versa. Can you grasp that?

  • @02streetracer Or when a turbo 1.3 liter rotary can run high 6s.

  • This motor is in Car Craft this month, very impressive stuff!

  • i seen that...man that's beautiful

  • Most of the power ratings over 1500-2000HP are based on fuel usage calculations, not actual dyno readings.

  • yes actually, but power on flywheel is testing in special rooms. mostly they can't rate power bigger than 5,000 HP, but they can test lower. On dyno whole car with engine never more over 2500hp.

  • @andrewt248 True.. I dont believe they have a dyno that can actually read that high yet.

  • @TypeR891

There are dynos that can absorb tens of thousands of hp for train and boat diesel engines. Typically it's not easy to hook one of these up to one of those, and often times the engines cannot handle being under load for an extended period of time. This is certainly the case with top fuel engines that must be rebuilt each run.

  • powerfull

  • i wonder what dyno they used to measure... as it is hard to find one that wouldn't burn to measure such torque...

  • Comment removed

  • well your fuckin wrong my friend if that car made 360 hp than im an elephant on a diet. it doesn't work that way my friend

  • Yes it makes that kind of power. and goes 5s in the quarter mile at 250mph.

  • that's not even a montecarlo anymore.

  • thats exactly what i was going to say

  • just call it.... it

  • If Jim butler can make 2800hp and no less than 2100ftlbs of tq with proof on tape on v8tv with less than 500 inches and two turbos, than I believe mike 'the man" Moran is making 3600 HP no doubt with well over 500 CID! just face facts, he's doing it! ran 6.01 fastest turbo car other than Jensen's single turbo small block

  • That's right. An engine will just about put out whatever you want it to, if the parts can take it without exploding. There's a reason that you can make 1,500HP with the same size engine in your pickup truck. Hell, you could put 600HP out of you F-150 with a stock engine...just don't expect it to last long. With a strong enough engine, boost is 40%, and RPM's 40%. Cams and timing make small differences in each stroke, TIMES 5000RPM or whatever, equals big difference, or 20%.

  • You forgot about the most important thing, you gotta know what the f you're doing. I tripled the hp in my 205 hp 93 Mustang GT 5.0 with a single, tuned it myself with only a LM-1 Wideband meter, non forged pistons, and a block that every moron and their sister told me it would blow up at 450 hp. It's lasted 6 years at 525 rwhp/650 rwtq Mid 10's with a completly stock 16 year old 5.0 engine, in a 3400 lb Hatchback yankin the stock Pony wheels off the ground. Sweet redemption from the haters.

  • most of turbos cant put the power to the ground other than he and jensen

  • Well he just ran a 5.97 last week 1st turbo promod to be in the 5's

  • WTF!!! 3600hp u shit!

  • aint got nothin on the crx si lol!

  • haha u wish

  • 540 cu in Big Block chevrolet twin turbo 16 injectors.Intercooled.Horsepower tv ran an article on him/

  • Did horsepower tv say what the E.T's and mph it ran?

  • was that in super nats

  • methanol i think

  • what engine is this based on the 3800?

  • You are kidding right? Do you think a 231 cubic inch Buick V6 could make 3600 HP?

  • Is he running on alcohol or a gas nitrous mix?

  • Only Alcohol burners can make this much power.

  • You might want to do some research before making a comment like that. Twin turbo Pro mod cars are running close to mid 5's now. And theres quite a few of them now. How do you explain that? The only explination is Alcohol burners used to be the only cars that could make that much power, you're just living in the stone age. It's people like you that cried when someone wanted to run a turbo on their car instead of spray or a blower, and said I'll never put one of those damn hair dryers on my car.

  • No, I see what your sayin. But What I meant was typically only alcohol burners can make 3600HP... I havent seen a Boosted car pushing more than 2200. Just based on what I have seen. Of course I've seen TT Pros push mid 5's I wasnt saying they didnt ;)

  • anybody have any recent videos of Moran?

  • 2 step's or antilag systems bring the rpm's to a set limit, drop timing at a fixed low limit, and inject a lot of fuel.. Basically the fuel can't fully ignite in the cylinder and explodes outside the cylinder (in the turbocharger) spooling the turbo.

  • well said

  • 2 step and anti lag are to completly different things.. 2 step is a launch control. antilag keeps the turbo spooled inbetween shifts....

  • work on the same principles though

  • nitrousboy0311, I sure hope your Civic is faster, cuz this car is on jack stands!

  • no...i dont own a civic i was being sarcastic

  • LOL! Ok man! I thought you were some guy with a 50hp shot of No2 thinking you're all badass! ahahaa

  • im guessin its just tryin to hit a hier rpm which makes it backfire trying to get that higher rpm, the backfire i know does spull the turbos hard, sum 1 else help me with understanding this?

  • what is it in the 2 step that makes the car backfire like that to spin the turbos? that is the two step right?

  • I don't know if he's making 3600...

  • I talked to Mike in person a year ago in Las Vegas and he said that his motor is making 3600hp. He also add that making power is not a problem but putting it down the track has been a long struggle to accomplish. He's almost there after few testings this year and managed a ET of 6.17 @ 244 mph and he backed it up again with a 6.19, which is the quickest and fastest ProStreet/ProMod car right now. He also won the 3rd Annual Super Street Car Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas.

  • well I knew about those runs and that he won that race, and I am a huge outlaw street fan, and have seen him in Orlando, but I was just kinda doubting he was making that much, because the blown pro mods aren't making even close to 3600 and their running 5's. And also, SCott Filkins has run 6.127 at the Shakedown @ Etown in street trim, but Moran still has him on speed.

  • I saw Scott ran 5.98 @ Etown and again Moran has a 11 mph advantage at the finish. I guess both blown and turbo have their pros and cons. Mike still has plenty of work to his car off the line the way he wanted to. I know 3600 is a lot but no one really knows if he's really putting it all on the ground.

  • Thats right, I forgot about the 5.98, and I believe he blew up at the end of the track too. He also ran a 5.96 at 241 during a test session at our home track of New England Dragway, last summer. But the problem with the turbo compared to the blown cars is they don't run the number in the first 660, if the turbo cars could run the first 1/8 as fast as the blown cars, we would really see some good numbers.

  • hey check this out!!!! my name is mike moran im 34 and live in gloucester va. my dad was a race car driver at langley speedway in va

  • Do you know what kind of engine he is running...I would really like to know because 3600hp is amazing!

  • 402 ci big block.

  • its a rev limiter that has 2 chips in it to control 2 different settings i.e. starting line rpm and shift point rpm

  • its not shift points. the first stage is used once hes prestaged it runs it a little above idle and then when he stages he hits the second step thats when it starts poppin. watch a vid of it runnin and youll see what im talkin bout. its not the shift points!

  • I'm still trying to figure out this "2 step" stuff. I don't understand what it is...

  • VERY cool car Gordie!!! Wish I could have been there! Mark from Lincoln Park
