  • First thing the whites commentin on this need to shut your mouths and keep it that way. Everytime I read comments on these videos I see your racist comments makin fun of my people. And I am sick of it. On another note I thought this video was very cute.

    -Native pride. Cherokee/Choctaw(:

  • i love this!!!!! we are yona clan! this dance explains a lot!!!!

  • Memories of being a small girl begging my great uncel (who was half cherokee and half lakota) To teach me this dance. (And so he did.) His sister (My grandmother) mother was a full bloded cherokee and her father a Powtan. My great uncel had a diffrent father who was Full lakota. I have been blessed to have all of the influnces of diffrent tribes in my life. How ever I regesterd Lakota since that is what my moms dad is and I pratic more of the ways. How ever I am proud of my people and who I am

  • I think survival of the culture is more important than genetic purity.

  • @fuzzwahmrp You are an idiot. How dare you make judgment when you are not part of a group that has been almost exterminated by the white invaders. Genetic purity is the survival of race, any of our kindreds who have a drop of white blood should be banished we cannot allow the white race to pollute or DNA with theirs we cannot allow it we will not allow it.

  • @guiltytangentI 'm not "making judgement", I'm just stating my opinion (hence the "I think" at the beginning) and I THINK you're the one being judgmental by calling me an idiot based on one sentence that you clearly misinterpreted. Racial preservation IS important, but what good is pure blood if one knows nothing of their culture & heritage? If the whole world had native values it could be saved, but if the world had native blood and consumer values then it really wouldn't make a difference.

  • @fuzzwahmrp Racial purity goes hand in hand with cultural preservation. The fact that most people who claim to be the Native Americans and inheritors of our land looks white now is disturbing!!

  • @guiltytangent I agree, it IS disturbing. Indigenous people evolve and develop over thousands of years to live in the most effective manner on the land they are native to. Their bodies develop to survive in the climate and digest regional foods, their spirits develop a connection to the land so much so that they ARE part of the land and its where they belong. When races move from one land to the next all of that is lost and the repercussions can last for centuries. It sucks, it really does...

  • @guiltytangent

You are the one who is an idiot. Racism is a disgusting quality.

  • @Bluebelle9289 And so is ignoring Native American genocide.

  • Sadly Native Americans will become more diluted via intermarriage.

  • @gfc56 I think survival of the culture is more important than genetic purity.

  • @gfc56

Native Americans marry outside their race it's a bad thing. White people and African Americans marry outside their races, it's ok. What's wrong with this picture?

  • @Bluebelle9289 Native American gene pool will be diluted. if we continue to mix with other races there will be no pure native americans left who are the real first people of the land. Native American culture and identity will be stolen by the very people who nearly destroyed them.

  • @guiltytangent

The culture isn't being stolen nor is it being destroyed. In the past it was but it's different in today's times. And like I said to another user, racism is a very ugly quality to have. You should probably go take a look in the mirror and figure out what kind of person you are.

  • @Bluebelle9289 Black Africans are the fastest growing population on the planet. Africas population could grow to 10 billion by 2100 if birth rates continue at the present rate. The white population will probaby die out by 2130, possibly sooner. Whites elected to have fewer children, and promote diversity with other races. Whites forced intermarriage and genocide on Native Americans.

  • @gfc56

Whites forced intermarriage and genocide on the Native Americans in the past. Today it's different. You'd know that if you pulled your head out of your ass.

  • tommy grew...

  • soo proud to be Cherokee :)

even if it is half ' well more than half

    our culture is amazing !

  • Love this, can't wait to get down there this summer, see the shows and visit some of our Cherokee family there!

  • this is so neat to watch. I'm facinated by the Cherokee since I found out my great great great grandmother is full blood Cherokee Indian and that I think she walked the "trail of tears." I'm not for sure but I know my ancesters did.

  • my greatgrandmother was full blooded so would that qualify me? I have been searching pics and i have the same jaw line and cheekbones and dark hair. some irish mixed in and gave me natural highlights. But my eyes are sky blue like my moms english side and i have a tiny nose like my english side grandmother. im a mut. but i am short and stout. compact. slim but compact. I have long toes as well. skin color failed me as i am anemic. But my father is as dark as they come. Pitch black hair. Compact

  • @athamenamaste The fact that you have common features as your grandmother doesn't matter at all. It sounds like you are more European blooded than Native American, I'm guessing? Personally, I would just say both. If your grandmother is full-blooded, that still means that the Native American heritage is in you.

  • @athamenamaste I am also white, for i am only 25% cherokee, but one thing the elders have always taught me is that your color of skin does not make you indian, it is whats inside of your heart. If you love and respect mother earth and all creatures on it, both animals and humans, then you are full blooded my friend :)

  • @bradt4evr Your elders are right. It's about the here and NOW not what we could or should be.

  • o si yo cherokee paint clan its good to see you have fun

  • Haha! This looks so much fun! I found out I have a tiny bit of Cherokee in me. My grandpa had very little in him. But I guess it's still there!

  • TOMMY WILDCAT!

  • @ChelseaSworldd i thought the same..it look tommy

  • Dont you indians get dizzy dancing in cirlces?

  • You are a racist, puppyfindotcom! Your comment isn't funny.

  • you just sound stupid

  • Well it's good to see that Walker(adohi) Calhoun's life work succeeded. He was one of the last to know these chants and dances. I'm glad to see the Raven Rock Dancers have passed their craft onward. Waho!

  • I live within an hour from the Red clay. Bradley county here :)

  • looks cool...I wish I was there..

  • i love rick hes such a good friend anybody have more bird chopper videos?

  • looks like a fun time :D makes me recall small family powwows w/Mom & relatives :)

  • Is that Tommy Wildcat out there? His hair is long as his. He looks a little chubbier than him though.

  • that is Tommy Widcat

  • @JMCrwd Tommy Wildcat Is Amazing!

  • "Bruushcorner

Yeah, back in the old times they would've

scalped her, lol. The white girl that is."

You need a history lesson, my friend. The WHITE MAN invented this horrific act long before the Native American did it. The WHITE MAN would scalp ANY native person, whether it be a child or an adult and sell the scalp for money.

  • It was also an easy way to confirm a kill in battle

  • OK WILDBIRD. you need to study up on native's history. The White Man started all that nonsense. We just obliged with the white man's horrific actions by obliging and scalping the fuck out of some honkey's. they wouldn't have thought twice about laying their filthy hands on our children OR elders.

  • the chanter starts to laugh. lol!

  • the singer laughs when tommy puts up his dukes lol...lookin all mike tyson for a minute their haha.

  • It was an open call dance, they asked for members of the audience to participate. And besides it was just for fun the derogatory comments don't need to be posted

  • Why? I think its good that she's being exposed to that culture.

  • No, it was an open call dance. Its good that she's being exposed to a different culture. The Bear dance is a fun dance anyway, its not like only the highest and most supreme Natives are allowed to do it.

  • who was singing???

  • Rick Bird and Bird Chopper Drum, from Cherokee, NC.

  • That was Scott Crisp and Tommy Wildcat.

  • that looked like scott crisp out there dancing and maybe tommy wildcat

the dance is to imitate the bear...

  • im not sure either but do a search in enarcta premium on native american dances.

  • i dont know whats going on can someone tell me but it look kind of fun

  • they are imitaing the bear
