I think Huell is pretty fiercely closeted. Part of the appeal of his personality is that the (older) ladies seem to be crazy about his Tennessee accent and southern gentleman persona. I still like the guy, but I'd like him much better if he was out.

I believe he is. When I was in high school in Palm Springs he frequented the Indian restaurant that I and my parents dined at often. He owns a place in Desert Hot Springs, or did at the time. He met my parents when I wasn't there but came in the following week when I was. My parents were very excited to meet him again but he quickly blew them off and focused on me, asking me many questions. After we left, the restaurant called to say that Huell had asked for my phone #. Still love him!
