    This was a very early test, it wasn't fully functional. A lot changed till the latest version. I don't remember the settings but latest OBGE thread has a section for different recommended presets. You can check my "crossing the bridge " video for my settings.

    You can try and find out. :) I think it adds to the atmosphere.

    PS. It is not that bright in final release.

  • I cant get godrays to work, i tried support plugin, i tried shaderlist, i tried this and that, all that happens when I activate it is that the sun gets brighter, but no rays.. All other effects work though.

    Be sure you have the latest updates. Use shaderlist.txt.

  • Can you make the same for Fallout 3 ? It really needs Crepuscular rays.

    I will take a look. But I doubt if Fallout needs this. It is perfectly atmospheric without the help of godrays.

    I was just thinking the same thing. I love this effect so much, and I think it would fit perfectly in fallout 3.

    shaders will be listed in "shaderlist.txt" file. obge.ini file offers some additional configuration probably you never need.

    Be sure to get version 4.

    type the name in shaderlist.txt

    disable it inside the plugin or it will be activated 2 times.

    Seek help on official forums.

  • I can get all shaders to work like ssao, but when I turn on godrays nothing seems to change. I've tryed playing with the values with no differences. Could it not work because of my video card? (ATI 5850) Have the latest DX and ati drivers. I'm trying to get it to work so I can show it off in my next music video but I'm on hold till I can figure it out.

    make sure it is v4.

    list it in shaderlist.txt and disabled in plugin.

  • Neither godrays nor depth of field work for me :S

    I have tried all the suggested fixes (renaming to godrays43 and so on, shaderlisted of course).

    I heard someone say it might be related to ATI graphics cards? I am using an ATI Radeon 4650.

    Anyway, the rest of the OBGE shaders seem to work alright, amazing work.

    If you ask me it is support plugin conflicting. Remove support plugin and start a new game.

  • @nonalv340 I couldn't get mine to work either, then I installed version 3 and put everything where it needed to go and all and went to shaderlist and just typed in godrays.fx and it worked. If you still can't do it just message me and I will help you on teamviewer.

  • This was the first test video to show what could be done, but there was actually no light for the end of the tunnel at that time. At that point, it was scanti's work on OGE that provided missing links for this to be possible. But yes, I am the author of godrays shader. ;)

    And I know the video is awesome, particularly because of the amazing soundtrack and Oblivion's own beauty... :)

  • I am aware of that problem. But I fixed it. Wait for the next release. It will be available within a week.

    PS. If you can't wait, you can text edit the fx file, there are full descriptions in it.

  • Also be sure to get the latest version, in the latest thread. The one linked in the description is/maybe an old thread. You can follow the locked threads to get the latest one... But I will update it with the latest link one more time anyway. But those threads get locked down pretty fast. :)

  • Check Oblivion Graphics Extender thread at Bethesda Oblivion modding forums. Follow the link in description. We are at 9th thread now. And we have 5-6 test shaders including this one. :)

  • Is it too early to ask when OBGE and the godray shader package might be ready to make it's first public debut?

  • If a script expert or an OBGE developer finds some way to return sun position in screen, then I can release something.

    float2 DeltaTexCoord= (TexCoord - sunview.xy);

    sunview.xy values are the only missing part.

    In this video sunview is static. I gave it a '0.2' value corresponding left top corner of the screen. I aligned the sun to fit there and only moved sideways and forward. You can see the effect being broken third(last) part of the video as I turn around a little bit.

    If you click the link, you will go to Oblivion Graphics Extender(OBGE) thread where you will find discussion about graphical stuff and development for OBGE. OBGE is the framework for adding shaders to Oblivion.

    Nothing released so far for Godrays shader. With recent developments that may change.

    BTW, better working versions of shaders like SSAO, HDR, DoF, Godrays and many more shaders are all available for Morrowind. ;)

  • It looks really good but it looks a little "whited out" if you know what I mean. Like it's lost it's contrast or something.

    Just a point of note

  • I exaggerated it a lot, for testing and showcase purposes, there are 8 variables to tweak in the shader. Decay, intensity, saturation, etc...

    You will be able to tweak it for your taste at the end.
