this may be a stupid question but still being at the lowly position of battlecruiser i hav no idea. in capital ship battles where each side has the other side basically frozen would a dreadnought not rain supreme in terms of destroying everything in sight, and if so how come when you talk about cap fleet battles most people invision waves of titans?

@LuciencesDeath tracking speed mate. dreadnaughts in siege mode do more damage at the expense of tracking speed. Technically dreads in siege are only good for stationary targets as their tracking speed means that if they try to hit any faster moving target (other dreadnaughts included) they'd miss. Thus there is a 10 minute window for other dreadnaughts/carriers/whatever­s to warp in and kill them.

@MrBACONLUBE1 ya but the point was if everything on the field is moving ungodly slow the tracking speed shouldnt come into effect

@LuciencesDeath that may be true for engagements out to 100 km +, but for close ranges tracking speed matter. the closer the target ship is circling the dreadnought, the faster the turrets have to turn to keep track. Most engagements have dreadnoughts a good distance off, but for battles a fellow dreadnought orbiting one in siege mode at any distance below 50 km will be guarenteed to not get hit, even if they're moving at 100 m/s. A POS, on the other hand, is a stationary object - no tracking.

yeah, but if you're insured, you pretty much get the same amount of money that you might need to get another one. I lost a Rokh once, but I had insured it so I got more than enough money to get another one.
