  • If only this show didn't have a laugh track, then it'd be great.

  • I think that hotel porter dude is the character "Sticky" in Top Buzzer .... he looks very young in this one, what year was this?

  • The Castol GTX jacket is genius.

  • Alan Partridge, Extras, The Office, Father Ted, Only Fools And Horses, Fawlty Towers and Blackadder are defiantly the most imprinted comedies of my life.

Not the BBC's new watered down rubbish.

  • @SillyWingComedy what about peep show? probably the best comedy in recent years

  • @booshpower I actually have never seen much of Peep Show, I'll have to buy the box set!

  • probably the best comedy show ever seriously it destroys extras and the office

  • @guitarreilly My friend, YOU ARE BANG RIGHT!!

  • If he ran for POTUS, he'd get the GOP nomination.

  • It's Alan Partridge AND Kevin Eldon? How did I ever miss this?!

  • Kevin Eldon is brilliant

  • Pure Genius Comedy! Perfect!

  • You'd think being a big fan of the Beatles you'd've at least heard of Wings, come on!

  • What did you have for breakfast this morning Camp David? OOOOOOOOOOOH MINCE!

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of my favourite Partridge moments

  • @kevthedrummer I don't get British humor, sorry.

  • @superunt43 I'm sorry you don't, you're missing out!

  • @superunt43 Apologies, just not amusing? Not at all?

  • Unnnnbelieveable.

  • Steve, when are you going to bring Mr. Partidge back to our tv screens?

  • @meldme There's a fillm and possibly a new series in production

  • Kevin Eldon is one of the most uniquely creepy actors out there.

  • Jackanackanory!

  • The irony of Steve Coogan sleeping with Courtney Love...

  • northern bloke rapping fast, /watch?v=agME2fDR00g

  • Anyone remember Colin Murray playing this clip on his radio one show all the time?

  • ugh he didnt blow his face off, he used a caliber which kept his face intact

  • @ironmetallivana who cares??

  • @ironmetallivana who cares??

  • @joel2ksweet me

  • This should not have had the laugh track.

  • @chimpiki So true. It cheapens it.

  • @chimpiki Thats what I was going to say, it kills the subtly of the humor.

  • @chimpiki It doesn't, it was shot in front of a live audience.

  • "Hahaha"

  • the show reminds me im 13 years away from becoming 40.. :(

  • When I reach middle age I wanna be just like Alan Partridge.

  • If Alan Partridge was a real person - and I think we all know someone with a bit of Partridge in them - then "Wings were the band the Beatles could have been" is EXACTLY the sort of thing he would say. Coogan's finest hour - genius.

Nice to see Kevin Eldon as well - very underrated comic actor

  • What show is this from? I need to get this! Heard about Coogan from Russell Brand's book. Coogan's a funny mf

  • I love Kevin Eldon

  • A clip from the best episode!

  • The Best of The Beatles is an album by Pete Best

  • James Lance is beautiful

  • i think i'd have to say.... the best of the beatles... LMAO

  • Does anyone else act like partridge just to entertain themselves?I like wings :) I often tell people that they are the band the Beatles could have been, as a tribute to the partridge. They think I'm a twat.

    Aha! The jokes on them

  • @a1974h I do exactly the same. Whenever I see The Queen on the telly, I always shout "Classic Queen!"

  • Brit pop bands like ub4o,def leopard.lol

  • Monkey tennis?

  • Fanny hair

  • The actor Kevin Eldon strikes again

  • @xTheLostProphetx I heard he always likes to be called the actor kevin eldon to make sure he isnt grouped with comedians, yet all i ever see him in are comedies, this, tmwrnj, big train, etc

  • @SXGi1b0 He was in Four Lions too lol

  • @xTheLostProphetx thats not a bear its a wookie lol

  • The jacket alone makes me laugh!

  • @basehead617 - Bang & Olufsen are the hi-fi equivalent of Alan Partridge - the brand that nobody who knows anything about hi-fi takes seriously. All show and no blow. The sort of hi-fi that women forced their husbands into buying because it looks good and wont mess up the front room - low profile, slimline rather than the four foot high stack of macho metal which I have on the side table. Just the right kit for the man with the Abba collection. Scandinavian blandout. A subtle joke.

  • @davidenespana your a cock

  • @fiddyanddat indeed. Entirely preferable to being an illiterate like your good self. Note the correct usage of 'your' in this instance as opposed to your own mangling of the English language, though I doubt you have the wit to understand why this is the case.

  • this is funny except.. what's the deal with the laughing guy? kind of out of place in the clip, seems like something you'd need to see the rest of the episode to get

  • UN BE LIE VA BLE

  • Alan Partridge being left "hanging" is one of the greatest awkward moments in television history. I fell apart laughing at that.

Got the box set of both seasons and KMKYWAP...."Back of the net!"

    Gotta love Anal Dirge Prat

  • 21 people laught in lifts for no reason

  • Castrol GTX.....Cash back.

  • 'unbelievable' HAHAHA LMFAO!!

  • There is never an occasion when you can't use an Alan Partridge quote.

  • @123backinyerface

Hillarous since The best of the Beatles is an album by Pete Best, who was given the boot from the band before the recording of Love my do. Great that Allan cherises the album

  • Great comedy. The 1st series is the best.

  • aaaa hhhhhhaaaaaa

  • Oh i miss Alan partridge. I'd love to see a comeback series. I know theres a movie but a series would still be great as id have the episodes to look forward to every week.

  • CASTROL GTX

  • coogans facechange at 1:00 CLASSIC............hahahahaha UNBELEIVABLE!!

  • Alan Partridge, is atypical of people in their 40's talking to someone younger, (say, in their late teens or twenties), about music. Only here it's exaggerated for comic effect. Assuming that Kurt Cobain's depression was caused by the band he was in as, 'not being very good', is a perfect example. Describing Wings as, 'Classic Rock', is another.

  • @JFredUK your a cock

  • @fiddyanddat It's, 'you're a cock', you sad little troll, If you're going to attempt to insult someone, then at least learn proper grammar, you sad little twat.

  • @JFredUK youtube.com/watch?v=Eg1o1fO8uug

  • @boeingVSairbus Haha, that was textbook.

  • Something tells me his favorite Wings album is "Best of," and he liked Paul McCartney's Broadstreet the best.

  • Ahha

  • Have you got your big plate Alan!

  • BANG and olafsson

  • unbelievable

  • ....."Someone shoulda told him ..LMFAO

  • Brilliant new trailer for Mid Morning Matters on ShortList Magazine's website

  • Probably old news, but a Partridge film is in the making:

    nme.com/movies/news/alan-partridge-the-movie-is-on-the-way/178774

  • @boeingVSairbus O RLLY!!! I'm in America so I had no idea!!!! That is epic--about time. Coogan is genius. Thanx for telling us!!!

  • @boeingVSairbus when is the partridge film going to be released?

  • The best of the Beatles... Classic Partridge!

  • when Alan Pardew was west ham manager i all ways kept thinking Alan Partridge was the manager wished he was Alan's the man who can get us the league

  • hold tight......hahahaha......hahahahahah.....nearly there....hahahaahah.aHAHHAHAHAH

  • It's how we all feel but we don't say it. Fucking funny!!

  • @Feisty1967 what? lol

  • Can't wait for the movie to be released next year.

  • @VOLVORULEZ1995

    What Movie are you serious?

  • @weirdcitykid Yes, very. Type in on 'Google' "Alan Partridge Movie 2011", that should bring up some results about what I have read.

  • @VOLVORULEZ1995 "Based on ABC's hit television series [The Partridges], which aired from 1970-74."

  • The man is a genius!

  • It's a bit like cars, isn't it?

  • Castrol GTX!

  • The laughter track ruined this show beyond all recognition.

  • @hippotoast

Agreed, much funnier without when they first aired it

  • @hippotoast It was filmed in front of a live audience...

  • @hippotoast It was a live audience.

  • @Kevo216666 Ok then let me rephrase. The laughter of the audience ruined this show beyond all recognition.

  • IT'S.. JAMES LANCE

  • @555hugs Nice reference.

  • 3rd series or smell my cheese you mutha

  • Alan Partridge is my idol. I hope whne I'm in my 40's I'm like him!!

  • Smell my cheese..... SMELLL ITTT....

Errr Monkey Tennis... Inner City Sumo... if you dont do it... Sky will!!!

CLASSIC comic creation. Come on Coogan- give us some more Partridge- we love it!!!!

  • @ACinDorset he has done ... mid morning matters !

  • @woodhd Yes. True. They are good, but I like it when he is out and about 'inter-acting' with the world... there is still so much which could still be done with Partridge. I like The Trip, and other Coogan creations- but Alan Partridge has huge mileage in it..... we love it... give us MORE

  • Genius Alan

  • that porter guy is such a fucking gimp

  • My friend made a good point that Coogan doesn't *feel* like Partridge these days because he's actually nearing the same age, whereas (in the first season at least) he's a 30 year-old guy portraying someone nearly 50.

  • @sec0ndevolution does alan partridge not age?

  • i think i'd have to say.. the Best of the Beatles... haha i fuckin died at that

  • @basehead617

    thats my fave line too

  • Oh god that high five thing was so awkward aha.

  • If I'm Alan Partridge had had the foresight to leave out the canned laughter it would have been the game changing sitcom that Gervais' Office turned out to be. Ironically if made today it would never have canned laughter

  • @estaelderrabbi no way, this is not nearly as good as the office. its great and all but the office was just really original. also extras was kick ass

  • @rockermanmatt try using the words "in my opinion". Here's a demonstration.

In my opinion, your evaluation of Partridge vs The Office is full of wank and you should smell my cheese, you mother.

  • @rockermanmatt I love the Office and am not denegrating the quality of either show. But post Office comedy is dominated by the cringe factor that I'm Alan Partridge has in spades. The laugh track softens this aspect and makes it not play as harsh. In that regard it would have usurped that role in the watershed "cringe" comedy event that was the Office. It doesn't touch the Office for it's soul crushing realness factor of course.

  • My friend and I qoute this all the time xD

  • @XXXsm3xiiiXXX Weve been quoting this for years lol dont think people will be quoting The Office in a few years or even at present if Im honest.

  • I love the guy in the elevator, "too many blacks" This is the greatest tv show ever made.

  • its not until you rewatch the Partridge episodes you realise just how much Gervais copied Steve Coogan.

  • is the bell boy david walliams?

  • @DubbleTrubbleBubble No,I have a feeling it's Jimmy Lance. I met him once. At the Edinbrugh festival.

  • never understood why he got mocked over the B&O stereo..:Optf5

  • i would probably have to say the best of the beatles lol

  • Dark UK Sketch Comedy with a hint of mint! We're new and we'd love to know what you think. Please Comment, rate, Subscribe!!

  • My body double

  • Yeah give him a third series, you shit!

  • his castrol gtx bomber jacket is perfect

  • @rachiejane1, @richardkeiths:

It's not diagetic sound, because it's not filmed in front of an audience, it's clearly on a set rather than a studio. Therefore, it's canned laughter, whether it's from a "laff box" or dubbed from a screening.

Considering that it's a fairly naturalistic series, it doesn't need canned laughter.

  • @xaeromancer Its not diagetic sound because the characters cant hear the laughter... diagetic is where the characters can hear the sound...

  • castrol gtx

    lmfaooooooo

  • there is know one and i mean know one as funny as the legend that is Alan Partridge

  • @UpTheExProductions No you mean 'no one'. But yeah, I agree.

  • @SongBillong yeah hahah terrible error there thanks for the correction

  • That canned laughter sticks out a mile...

  • @xaeromancer That's not canned laughter. It's screened in front of a studio audience and they record that.

  • @xaeromancer Well apparently it doesn't because it's not canned laughter...

  • Pure amazingness!!!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=6UmYOmTG3B0

New series is on soon. Like if you cant wait to see it!

  • COCK PISS PARTRIDGE

    I freaking love this guy.

  • @PigskinJunkies I think you mean COOK PASS BABTRIDGE

  • I didn't know you were into music, I know you're a DJ but I've heard your show.

  • Castrol GTX

  • "What's that?"

    "Bang and Olufsen"

    "Ooh Hahahahahahaha"

  • It's basically sex music.

  • Alan Partridge Project

  • weird how coogan ends up boneing cobains missus/murderer in real life one day, she says he was to wild for her to handle ....ah haa..

  • Well Sonia, that was classic intercourse... so thanks.

  • Ricky Gervais wishes he could create a character as good as Alan

    Partridge

  • @JRHartly1984 Great comment! And sooo true - Ricky Gervais is over hyped shit. Not a scratch on Steve Coogan and AP

  • @JRHartly1984 First of all, it's pointless to argue this, you can go on and on, like coogan has nothing on Idle, Laurie and Cleese, but nevermind, Gervais did create two characters as good as Alan, David Brent and Andy Millman, and those shows didn't even have laughs in the background, so +1 to those aswell, but I do still love AP and in some periods i prefer that over office/extras, vice versa.

  • @JRHartly1984 dunno david brent is equally as good in different ways!

  • @JRHartly1984 He did it better, 'Sir David Earl of Brentshire'

  • @JRHartly1984 Spot on

  • @JRHartly1984 Ah David Brent is on par wiith Alan Partridge, two genius characters.

  • @JRHartly1984 pics or it didnt happen

  • @JRHartly1984 He did. His name was David Brent.

  • Unbelievable!

  • Alan Partridge or Saxondale? Which is better?

    I prefer Saxondale.

  • @CortanaFTW Yes totally.

  • what a great character Alan Partridge is. He's a complete twat, but at the same time quite likeable, and there's a lot of depth to him as well. They did such a good job on the two series of I'm Alan Partridge, it never gets old!

  • Give him a 3rd series y bastard.

  • @jellis4465 he doesnt want a 3rd series he could do a movie if he wanted

  • @jellis4465 Yeah give me a third series ya shit lmao episode 1
