  • like if you came here to see people kicking lol

  • How did they multiply?! :o

  • House disliked this 109 times

  • anyone notice the person that fell at 3:34

  • I'm a bit confused... so they brought back the rejects?

  • the moment when i have to learn this dance ... im so confuseddd O.e

  • One? There's bloody hundreds of them! Love this Song, one of the Greats!

  • Where can I get this version of the song?

  • Bravo!!!! love it

  • my god, they must have had to practice for a while on just the hat routines alone

  • ahhhh the 80's

  • I'd love to see the muppets do this song

  • When I watched this with Dilupi, my prima sobrina= first cousin once removed, she asked me why the rejected dancers were also in this dance. I told her that Zach had miscalculated how many dancers he would need, and thus had no choice but to also hire the rejects. That made her very happy.

  • @belianis 'tis so sweet how everybody assumes that the curtain call is the production that Zach is preparing, and how everybody is so happy that all the dancers get a part in the production.

  • i miss the 80's

  • Wow. Conversation ender below me...

  • you know, my grandpa played in the pit for the Broadway show.

Rest in peace grandpa. I love you:)

  • @adbmnj10 Is that what killed him?

  • @kimmois1 No. He had parkinson's disease.

  • I swear to god these damn ads.

  • JANET JONES!!!

  • It's said T.V. adds ten pounds. Apparently YouTube takes out those same ten pounds. Why is this video stretched? + it's weak vocally. WUTH?

  • @MauiLevi how could you say that this is weak, vocally?! I think its time you just went back and listened from about the 3:00 point....

  • TKM GIOVANNYY

  • the mirrors are set to an angle while the slits are actually spaces where the dancers can pass through

  • anyone else notice that at 3:38, someone falls? 2nd row, on the right side.

  • @jkmontgmry HAHAHAHA! YES!!

  • @jkmontgmry I don't see it...

  • @jkmontgmry oh yeah i saw it

  • "Dreamgirls, Company, Chorus Line, these three shows are quite divine."

  • !!! ESPECTACULAR COREOGRAFIA

  • I'm sorry but Michael Douglas?!

  • bring on the dancing quality street!!!

  • the thing I love about this vid is that suddenly the original number of people on stage has increased to a stageful

  • that show comes to Israel! I hope that I'll get to see it!!

  • @sapirush12 its finished its run in tel aviv i think!

  • @jimboi1313 yes today is the last show... I already had tickets but eventually I couldnt go so I gave them to my sister

  • looks like usher stole some of those hat moves.

  • I listen to this song before interviews to get me motivated :)

  • Come see A Chorus Line at my school Hamilton High School: Academy of Music

    December 2011!!!

  • this movie is silly after seeing joey from friends tv show doing jazz hands,,,,,,,,,,lol

  • My dance team or show choir should totally do this as our performance piece! Got to love the art of musical theatre and broadway jazz dance

  • So BROADWAY! Saw it twice ... loved it! So many talented people involved in this! ♥

  • my dance class actually did this on a performance night. it looks really cool but believe me it is quite hard.

  • One....

  • It still freaks me out that they kick for the entire credits with a kick higher than 90 degrees. If that's not dedication and an iron will then i don't know what is. I'd probably do ten kicks in a row and be done. My will power is not that big.

  • What a magnificent chorus!

I have actually never stay at Broadway but, it must be really awesome!

    (Spain)

  • It is awesome. I know some people who don't like musicals. They don't like musical movies, they don't like live musicals, they don't like opera. But it's not like they don't like music at all. For some reason they don't want a story told in or with music. Personally, I don't understand. But if you are open to this idea, if you've seen musical movies you like, then Broadway and London's West End...you have to find some way to get there. It is an inimitable emotional and artistic experience.

  • crazy you have to convinve yourself you not gay to do this...lol

  • Bello!

  • Wow! LOVE IT!

  • LOVE THIS Movie!! Would really like to see the play someday.

  • This is art; I don't mind if is gay or not. That is a conservative right talking about something that he never sees on his/her church. Go to do ballet and singing lessons and then we can talk. ;)

  • Performing this in May 2012 in our show, started learning this today... It's good fun but harder than it looks in fairness :)

  • I AM SO FREAKIN CONFUSED AT 2:08!!!

  • @PopularTomato It looks like they are mirrors, but it turns out to be another set of people. They used a Movie cut to change that around. if you look the "mirrors" at that point are just poles. But its very convincing! ^^

  • @Cheesypirate99043 Wooaaaahhh

  • @PopularTomato Their reflections came of the mirror.

  • @PopularTomato Wait what's so confusing?

  • @KateNotKaty look how they look at the mirror and they turn but the mirro image doesnt and the walk forward. how did they getthere when there was a mirror??

  • If one removed all the Youtube comments about race, religion, and sexual orientation, there would be a lot more room for comments that are actually about the video content. And let me add, I am gay and have been in lots of musicals and choruses and I was usually the only gay person. Nearly all straight guys. No closeted queers. Gay folk listened to Korn, Rolling Stones, Styx, Garth Brooks, and Eminem.

  • We performed this song in chorus when I was in 7th grade and it was loads of fun. =)

  • all I kept thinking was, "they're still kicking?!"

  • Pretty sure people dislike just for the hell of it :-/

  • yet another video I viewed thanks to House.

Not exactly the best one though :P

  • I like this song but or some reason it makes my balls hurt everytime I hear it. Yes, I am a Scrubs fan.

  • Thanks twilight. Can't keep up with much these days ... family matters.

    Thanks :)

  • o ball e mezzanott hehhehehe

  • I used to do this number. Loved it. Was the longest running show on Broadway. I think Chicago is overtaking it - now.

You tell 'em Jean baby. We have a special life don't we? It just IS what it IS. Little did I know what awaited me when I was 5 studying piano. Oh HOW it has ENRICHED my life and provided a good living for me too!!!

What I Did For Love ♪ was written about LOVE of their "Art".

Nice to meet you Jean ♥

  • @joni4749 a chorus line is the fifth-longest running musical on broadway. it's been beaten by chicago, les mis, cats, and phantom of the opera, which will likely hit 10,000 performances this year.

  • I was in this movie. The opening scene where they show all the dancers outside waiting to go inside..I was in that crowd. Hey..it's something.

  • I bought this movie just for the beginning the casting of the dancers and this last part. There's some great dancers in this movie, glad i bought it

  • According to Robin Williams, this is the song that will be playing when the Vatican comes out.

  • @masht11 ?

  • I learned this song in sixth grade (1980). My class sang it to our principal at our grade school "graduation". I don't feel one way or another about the song, but it brings back memories.

  • i earned my bread for 15 years doing that.

    nice memories

  • Vederlo dal vivo a Broadway é indimenticabile....bellissimo.....

  • my dance teacher was in this but on broadway

  • triipppyyyyy but bloody good =D i only noticed like a second before they walked out that the reflections werent actually the same people and i was like WAIT WHAT! ohhhh =P

  • I don't get how the people suddenly stepped out of the mirror. CG? @.@

  • i love this song, it so cool!!!!

  • I love this song...but all the gold started to make my eyes blur.

  • This song is so awesome that my school is performing it

  • @ebzamillion1 ours too! :D

  • I have been searching for this song and movie for fucking years, I saw like the last half of it on TV as a kid just by random and didnt know the name of it but I really like it. Then again I am a sucker for musicals :)

  • I love this musical

  • i am entertained!!

  • sorry dreamtownuk, my post was aimed at the spiteful comments of drachenbaer - not you.

  • @uclrichard

Ok, You can remove it then

  • interesting how they multiplied

  • i love the end of this it makes me want to get up and kick my legs in the air lol

  • i wish people would realize that how showtunes aren't gay. that's what people have developed in their minds and its not true. i'm sure that Fred Astaire wasn't gay because he married a girl. and he was always doing showtunes and singing and dancing. but his time era was more the 40-60's.

  • One of the BEST musicals<3

  • one singular sensation my ass you dicks !!!

opne singula sensation, wtf is that ?

    stupid bitch play

ahhh i'm relaxed now, tnx for letting me vent.

  • @haroos and yet you clicked on the link, and watched it.

  • Holy cow!. 2:00 to 2:12 is amazing. What a cool effect.

  • So cool. I was born so late. I missed this !!!

  • Between 3:34-3:36 the 3rd girl from the extreme right, 2nd row falls!!!!

  • I am a guy, and I'am not gay, and i'am doing this production in the summer... I don't find it gay at all, people doing this in this video are getting payed to do this, who wouldn't go through with something like this if it meant living your passion on stage performing, entertaining, and making money! Musical theater folks, are all a family, we don't care who is gay or not. we love each and everyone one them because we all have great things in common. And we love what we do.

  • @JeanPjesse amen to that, im a theatre geek xD lol

  • @JeanPjesse Most intelligent thing I've read on here in weeks. Hope all goes well with your production.

  • @JeanPjesse I'm gay and this sets my heart aflutter.

  • @JeanPjesse - Well said.

  • @JeanPjesse

Agreed. Homophobes don't understand musical theatre. Or anything else for that matter :P

  • @MrCrowIey I collect opera and musicals, and am not gay. I pray there is no such thing as an heterophobe.

  • @belianis Or a retrophobe.

  • @belianis Or a retrophobe.

  • @JeanPjesse lovely i wish all the success!

  • @JeanPjesse you are amazing. That's exactly what I love about musical theater!

  • Entertainment Weekly just voted this number as one of the TOP 25 dance sequences on film of all time; so cool.

  • First musical I ever saw on Broadway. Still amazing.

  • ohhh - gosch - i miss you

  • Thumbs up if House MD brings you here!!!

  • @dreamtownuk I was gonna ask how did HOUSE MD send you here and then I remembered the HUGE A Chorus Line poster House buys just so Wilson doesnt get into their neighbor's pants and I burst out laughing.

  • @gomika i watched that an hour ago and that's what sent me : )

  • @dreamtownuk your homophobic trolling is on a par with the murdering fascist from norway. it's people like you that start hate crimes. i hope you're proud. you are the one who needs psychiatric help. or locking up.

  • Comment removed

  • @dreamtownuk its even better if you were here and knew about this production BEFORE House MD...

  • I am learning this dance for Ballet Arts and i have to sing =)

  • After all of these years it's still the best musical ever, and this presentation is phenomenal!

  • I just finished watching Moulin Rouge and needed to watch something to make me feel less gay

  • @DXslilgangsta Someone's been watching I Love The Millennium.

  • @evilwillhunting, what a good question. Since in reality that many people really do have to be in the show; both to be dismissed early AND to come back for the finale;l

it's both an idealized ending AND actually good as well for dancers in the show.

In real life: there's those roles written in for them to be in the show, you see. So that many people get work.

  • I never fully understood this ending. Most of the cast was cruelly dismissed over the course of the story. But at the end, they are all brought in as a production chorus line.....

Did they get re-hired? Or is it an idealized version of what should have been? Or is it more of a goodbye to the audience?

  • @evilwillhunting It's kind of a commentary on the life of a dancer (or people in general) - you spend almost 2 hours learning about individuals and their stories and how badly they need the job - only to have them at the end, be part of a kick line - one part of a a line, not stepping out or individuality...take it as sad or just reality - but that's how I always thought about it.

  • DREADFUL FILM

  • This was my first Broadway musical; saw it in Austin and San Antonio in 1997; I am still in love with it!!!

  • Whenever I need a genuine lift - i come back to this video. Definitely one of my most favorites! Thank you for this.

  • I love Broadway.

  • 99 people WERE lonely with you-know-who. =/

  • I love this song.

  • Yes, I am that old.

  • Comment removed

  • That's because there's no shit on there ;)

  • i cant see shit

  • the way they add people is genius. such a mind blower! hahah who's a mirror and who's a person? the world may never know! :p

  • we did this for our show recently it took us four months to choreograph this dance it paid off in the end it was magnificent :)

  • did this routine with my Mom years ago

  • 2nd row, 2nd girl. She falls at the end! XD

  • ahhhh they multiply soo quickly

  • THERE'S SO MANY PEOPLE!!!!!!!! D:

  • This is seriously one of the best finales I've ever seen!! (:

  • go girls... dance is the hidden language of soul

  • This is done with mirrors, right? So how many people are really in this?

  • We are singing this song in my chorus at school.

  • @CylineTV same. and I can't sing this high. Gotta practice.

  • This movie is awful. It's one of the worst acted 80s movies I've ever seen, which is a shame since everyone in it was so talented.

This number was the best part because no one had to talk, just sing and dance.

  • How did they get the reflections to turn into real people?

  • @EmittingPhotons Movie magic. There's a way to make "doubles" of people using make up and wigs. Even in the 80's, effects were kinda good enough to look realistic.

  • Excellent!!!!!!!

  • I am doing this song in dance class

  • "The family dog is eyeing Bart's intestines!"

  • not the "one" that i was thinking of...

  • i helping choreograph for my spring show! should i add tap dancing to this song?????

  • meravigliosssssssoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • our dance is better

  • This is such a classic. :)

  • Absolutely ridiculous and evil exterme not let people embed this video on orkut or in any other application, disclose something so beautiful and well done should be the intention of the one who posted it here ...

But unfortunately, this YOU TUBE infested with selfish and possessive ... Orkut is a social network of general public is content to allow those taking culture that has no access to or simply do not know all forms of art here as in the case A Chorus Line.

  • This the absolute worst! Why did Michale Bennett or any of his associates allow this travesty to be done. Go see the original production this is a horrendous! Even though I did know some of the dancers in it.

  • i like this song

  • TheFriedolays you are gay!!!!! a gay stupid person, who hasnt a clue whats going on^^

  • AhahXD I prefer Sora Cesira's version...

  • I performed this song in drama in elem. school!!! It's the best song ever!!! It isn't gay at all.

  • oh my gods where do they hide all those poeole, they came out of nowhere...

  • @Kinasei Thats what Im wondering!? I thought those back pannels were mirrors, and then other people pop out of the back and im like Holy Heck there multiplying! (:

  • @DahNinjaB I think its all the people that were in the original audition.

  • My elementary school trip was to see this on Broadway in 1984. It was amazing and I never forgot this song.

  • where is it? that time

  • I think its the black guy ( 0:34 )

  • Thumbs up if House brought you here.

  • i want to try out for one

  • Where Did All Those Extra Ppl Come From? I Didn't See

  • What a horrible adaptation of a sublime stage musical.
