I have home made kefir and I 've put it in the fridge feeling a bir lazy to prepare to drink it but after seeing this video I've just drank 2 glasses of friendly bacteria :) I love Kefir and I have been making Kefir on and off since 2004.. When I had started I had a very small one grain and I used organic whole fat milk during the summer time and it reproduced a lot that I had to make at least 3 of 1 liter jars then, it is realy great .. anyway thanks a lot for sharing the information..peace :)
I bought some strawberry store bought kefir the other day. It indeed did have a swelling top, is this a sign that it is good quality kefir? It is organic and from quebec up here in canada. Thanks!
how do I order and extra bunch of milk kefir with your special promo so I can give it to my mom to take home to toronto. she is 85, I want to show her how to do this before she leaves nova scotia. please let me know right away. thanks
I'd still prefer 5 Trillion over 50-100 Billion anyday. Plus the probiotic pills only have 5-10 different strains in them usually. Plus a dry pill doesn't contain bacteria that is active and growing at the moment of consuming like in Kefir. I've not seen many pills contain 50-100 billion bacteria but the manufacturers lie anyway.
sounds great, but is i wish you mention some other sources that would confirm your findings, i want to give a speech about this in my speech class, but I need some documented reliable sources that i can cite. i actually love Kefir BTW Thanks
Regarding your comments of yogurt. In Ontario any unpaturized milk product has to be quarantined for something like 60 days. I'm not sure how the yogurt companies still claim to have bacteria, but I think the re-add some bacteria after pasturization. Not enough apparently.
She's turning 103 Aug. 13th. She was raised on kefir.... they would make it themselves and mix it with some brown sugar (they called it Nun's Rice Water, or something like that)
i have been growing kefir for quite some years now and thank you for your additional infos coz they strengthen my beliefs in kefir.

I like the information you gave, but they DO have 50 billion and 100 billion probiotic pills.

the 50 and 100 billion pills are what they are rated on when they leave the factory... most of it dies in shipping and on the store shelves... =/

I was wondering if you could refer me to documentation regarding the study you mention around 0:50.
Thanks very much!

I was wondering what you think about raw milk...apparantly that also has lots of good bacteria because it has not been pasteurized.

Yes, I beleive raw milk is better than pasturised milk.

@britishbornchinese - Depends on the cow and the cleanliness of the farms.
