Picking him up later after a few hits of meth and another rape victim is insufficient. If you run from the cops, you risk their lives and your own. Jumping on the hood was ill advised and dangerous, but if those actions kept the public safe, then this cop is still a hero.

People don't flee from the police because they are afraid of what they are going to do to them, they flee because they don't want to get caught.
