Does anyone know where I can buy the "Sunrise Projector" album (Gammaphone 2004)? I've checked virtually everywhere. I have "Past is Prologue" and "Dive" albums, and both are awesome. I would like to keep things legit. :)

Although they're definitely not the same band, Tycho an BoC do use a similar set of sounds... this song sounds similar in ways to the first 10 seconds of the BoC track, 'The Smallest Weird Number.' But this by no means makes Tycho guilty of some musical sin. All music is derived from other music- there's really no problem with similarity (accidental or intended).

BoC, just like any other artist took a feel and vibe and SAMPLES, thats right other people's sounds to make their own music. I still admire BOC more as it tends to grow on me more which each listen, a true sign of great craft. Tycho works the reverse on me. BOC tends to be more cerebral, while Tycho tends to be more accessible.

There's a difference between ripping off an artist and continuing what they began... Boards Of Canada is great, but their sound is a bit darker compared to Tycho. Tycho keeps it going and makes these brilliant, lovely, airy, melodic lullabies with it. If you're into dance music, it's like saying Justice is a rip-off of Daft Punk... while Daft Punk came first, Justice took that sound to the next level.

Why he waited so long to add them to his list of influences after premiering makes me forever seriously question Tycho's honesty in music and art
