i am in los feliz and we got rocked pretty good. it ripped parts of our roof and rain gutters off, broken trees, patio furniture in the pool and half of the water in the pool was splashed out. i've lived here my whole life and i really don't remember any santa anas like this. i'd rather live through 10 earthquakes than one night like that again. i can't believe no one died across the south land!!
Its funny, I'm from the midwest originally, and they experience tornados with similar wind velocity; yet their biggest fear are earthquakes! They have no idea! :)
Last night, hearing the intensity of the blowing winds did not prepare me for the scenes I saw today. These fallen trees are similar to many, many trees throughout the area. Debris everywhere. However, on the positive side, I met neighbors I've never seen before, and spoken to people who otherwise would have simply passed by. I think the power of nature naturally puts those affected by it in a sort of awe. And thankfully, I've heard no word of injuries thus far.
i've noticed the same with earthquakes and fire evacuations too. it's when you really get to see how we all sort of need each other.. i remember our last fire evacuation two of us stayed behind to help evacuate animals whose owners were not home. you really get to know your neighbours during times like these. hope you fared the storm well!
I was in Pasadena all day working the field. My partner and I could not believe what we saw. First a few branches. Then we saw a small tree that was blown over. After that we see entire streets blocked by trees!! I really hope no one got hurt.

Yes, I think its amazing how it brings down barriers. Suddenly its an attitude of "we're all in this together." Thanks for sharing!
