Why is the CWA organizing rallies with Communist Van Jones, the CPUSA (Communist Party USA), and the SPUSA (Socialist Party USA)?

I'm one of the guys who do mark-outs when you "call before you dig." More often than not, when I go to a Verizon mark-out, the Verizon employees would laugh at me and tell me I should come work for Verizon because they hardly work and get great pay for not really doing anything. But NOW, all of a sudden, they complain they work so hard. Give me a break. Striking in this economy and job market? I hope Verizon fires all of you.

@MarkSisko ya know what you dont mention either - is that if one of these guys digs without waiting for you, they risk getting suspended if they hit anything. this is what they are REQUIRED to do. we cant help the fact you got a job where you have to drive across the state with a can of spray paint, and then hate on skilled workers that make more than you.. you chose to do that for a living, i made a different choice. im sure most people would agree we should make a bit more money than you.

Let's not forget that the strikers all get strike pay if the are on the lines 40 hours a week. But some states on the east coast also give them unemployment!!! I'm sorry. You voluntarily stopped working and you get paid for it?! In the mean time, my family has to suffer with not having my husband home because he has to do your job. Our kids are asleep when he leaves in the morning, and asleep by the time he gets home. And this is 6 days a week. That is what's not fair!!!

WELL... we would like to keep VERIZON from outsourcing our jobs or shipping anyone they want anywhere and anytime. One concession Verizon wants is to lift the overtime restriction so they can force you to work as many hours as they please .Another concession is they want the ability to force adjust workers up to !00 miles oneway to a new work location. This is for the rest of my career, not just for a couple of weeks like your husband has to endure. When will I get a chance to see my kids awake? Thats not fair!

As the poster of this video i must say this: I'm neither for or against unions... My believes are that if you sign up for something, you stand up for that something. So please feel free disagree with that statement too. I was trying to take a nap when all this was going on, but ended up grabbing my dog to go pratice the social media circle, or should i say circus. We all are in these mess together. I hope the CWA stays out for at least 3 months. I am a Verizon Manager working 7 days a week - 12 hours a day. At time and a half and that is 106 hours per week. I will make an additional 9K after taxes every month. I LUV when the CWA goes out on strike. A very happy Verizon Manager :)

@verizonmanager Now you know, if you were one that hadn't ever worked outside what we "outside" techs have to go through! As far as your overtime that you are going to make that's OK as well! Some of us that aren't in the area that is currently on strike have done it in the past as we actually care about providing out customers with the service they are paying for. Granted, since Verizon took over the former GTE regions we are having to apologize more often than not for some order being hosed

@verizonmanager I'm a wife of a verizon manager. Though the money will be nice, I do hate the fact that we won't see much of him til this strike is over. The tactics the strikers are using are appalling. Keep strong and enjoy the pay!!!

@catyla65. (Part two) There is much overtime pay coming in for your husband. So all of that "mental discipline" is never so when you know that a nicer reward is near. As for me with only one paycheck in the household, now there is none; there is no amatory activity and the celibacy is literally killing me!

@eddyvideostar well actually im one of the people calling in for the markouts, which is what pays your paycheck. so i would be carefull who's " boat you rock " . you see these guys for 5 minutes out of your day, and thats only on emergency calls. so im pretty sure that doesnt qualify you to tell everyone what our day is like, and im pretty sure your skills of painting a line doesnt qualify you to guess either..

Does your husband have a job anyway so that he is away from you for long periods of time. He is still away doing a job. If he was there with you 24 hours a day, how would you feel, especially if no bread were to come in. There is diddly coming in for me - the measly strike pay is a fraction of the years of union dues contributed.

@eddyvideostar If he goes out of town at all it might be one week a month. But not always every month. I do understand what you're saying about no money coming in. But there a few few people striking that are doing things that are giving all of you a bad name. So it's just frustrating on both sides. Just found out he'll be leaving this sunday for 3 weeks. He'll be missing our daughters first day of kindergarten. I just pray this is settled soon for everyone's sakes.
