Mutations like that are impossible in such little time. Take the tank. Not only did he somehow gain enough muscle mass to throw frickin’ cars, no, he also developed tendons and bones who can withstand these forces. That’s just over the top.

Dead Island is aiming for a more “realistic” scenario and should refrain from using such mutants.

Also, Dead Rising is not an FPS. Try again.

However, Dead Island looks promising and could be something for “hardcore gamers” seeing as they are focusing on melee and tactics rather than on a mindless shooting spree. In this game you might actually have to hide in order to survive.

That's what difficulty settings are for. try expert realism. (an achievement I have) or just plain old expert.

Here’s what I wrote in a recent discussion:

“There are myriads of other ways to increase the difficulty. Like creating situations with a huge amount of zombies which require strategic thinking to overcome. Or putting the player in an environment that makes fighting zombies, even few and regular ones, hard.”

My point is that if your only way of increasing the difficulty is to add stupid mutants this is a declaration of bankruptcy for your competence. They should be more creative than that.

If you had ever played left 4 dead you would know that the map does change at times. even when you change the difficulty.

And no. the mutating zombies in L4D are in all the difficulties. what raises it is making them do more damage making more of them and making resources scarce.

The problem is. is that it's not a zombie survival game. it's a shooting level based game.

what you want is hard to do.

Technically the Left 4 Dead "zombies" aren't zombies at all. They're alive but infected (and in some cases mutated). Quite frankly fighting the same kinds of average enemies would get boring fast - hence the special infected that offer more of a challenge and called for different strategies. Didn't Dead Rising cater to the lovers of the slow, stupid, and shuffling zombies?

If the person was known to be fast then of course the zombie will be fast, if they were ordinary then they get sluggish. In left 4 dead they aren't technical zombies they ar just infected and sometimes mutated humans. And the mutated ones give the game more of a challenge.
