  • Alain is fantastic, but you can't hear even half the stuff he's playing in this video because of the compressed sound of the camera/camcorder. Check out some of the other suff he does under "Alain Caron" or Uzeb!

  • pff, sorry Flea is a dedicated player but Alain Caron is a totally different league.

  • where is the amazing player???

  • Alain Caron is the greatest bass player in the world now.

Jaco?....greatest bass player in the galaxy.

  • You mean amazing bass not amazing player right. If you say amazing bass player at Namn you have to say Flea

  • @ChalicoKiks008 Flea just doesnt have the technique of Alain though.

  • you can give the most expencive bass to a guy or a girl that is an average player and the bass will sound good (because it is ment to sound good, otherwisw it is not worth the money) but playingwise the guy's or a girl's playing will still sound average... no matter how high end instrument is. I personaly play Squier Jazz, and i'm average player, a hobbyst, and if you give me a Jens Ritter Roya, or a Carl Thompson, my playing will still be average.

  • Alain Caron

  • @amosfunk Yeah! :-)

  • Haha!

I wish it were like that!

  • Nope, thats not the truth. No matter what type of Instrument you have, if you don't practice then the most expensive istrument in the World won't make a difference.

  • @soeffingwhat I agree!

  • @soeffingwhat completely true

  • @soeffingwhat

but at a certain level of experience it will make a lot of difference

  • @asxefv - Yes I agree

  • @soeffingwhat

yeah i dont recommend beginners easy instruments

  • @soeffingwhat You're 100% right but you have to admit that sometimes higher quality instruments (= the more expensive ones) are easier to play.

  • @RediForKing I agree!

  • @RediForKing - Oh yes, I definitely agree. more expensive Basses are more better set up and I guess are easier to play and manage, they don't keep going out of Tune. I think its kind of a psychological thing too, as in if your already an accomplished Bassist, you can play a lower priced Model well and make it sound good, but it won't feel right to you, but if you play a nice expensive Bass then it feels better and therefore your playing 'sings' more, as it were.

  • i filmed the bass battle between bootsy collins and that other guy if anyone saw it

  • AWESOME!

  • At about 1:00 in, he removes his left hand and makes fist...is that a sign of carpal tunnel? I hope not!

  • Oh yeah!

    I hope not!

  • Alain is such a stylish player. Always a pleasure to hear him play!

  • Yeah, I remember listening to Uzeb on my way to work every morning when I lived in France...

  • This just made my day.

  • Thanks buddy, glad you enjoy this video!

  • oh, i saw Mr. David Cheng the best boutique bass dealer in Hong Kong...

  • Yea..David...haha

  • Glad you like it! :-)

  • Who?

  • Alain Caron UZEB and The Frank Gable V Band

  • I love Uzeb, but never heard of The Frank Gable V Band. Is it Fusion too?

  • yes... If you check out my videos you'll see the band in Frankfurt. We saw two shows.

  • Cool!

    Thanks a lot Laurie! :-)
