However, what of the hundreds – perhaps thousands – of weavers, beaders, tailors, seamstresses and other artisans whose livelihoods depend on Haute Couture? If their extraordinary skills are not maintained, they will simply die. In an age of increasing mass production, when mediocrity is lavishly celebrated, real talent and skill must surely be cherished.
