  • Add a metal jacket with fins and a nosecone and you've got yourself one hell of an unguided missile!

  • @halfmumi I think it's empty

  • A question : I found an old tank in a garage sale and i have to take that top part off but i dont know how to check the pressure. When i turn the regulator knob to both sides,no air is coming out...How can i understand that if the tank is empty or not? How can i FULLY empty the tank? I guess i have to secure the tank to somewhere really well before opening also..Anyone?

  • OH thanks you just put more O2 into the air and caused a storm that flooded India!

  • lol now put fins and a cone on the most powerful one then do it

  • wow, having flash backs from when i played garry's mod right now

  • Yeah this looks safe as fuck to set off right next to you.

  • put some wing to that and make it fly

  • @skriptkidjc where we can buy this flow reduction valves ?? where can we find more information about it ?? tnx

  • they should do a scuba diving tank rodeo

  • Scuba tank guillotine?

  • why not going into the sea, and strap it on your back? UNDERWATER ROCKET!

  • @CDA441 it wouldnt do anything but make bubbles. There wouldnt be any propulsion.

  • Similar thing happened to my grandpa in the Navy, they were hauling tanks from one deck to another another when one dropped. It shoot down the deck and off the stern just like a torpedo.

  • put some wings on it!!!

  • i would like to no wot would hapen if that hapend under water

  • This would be so much fun indeed

  • pliz dont try in home this is not the game

  • You would be the fastest creature under the sea for 10 seconds, then you would just be a mammal who wishes it had gills!

  • those are scba tanks. the valves are worn on the bottom of the cylinder. 2216psi or 4500psi are in the tanks

  • That's insane!

  • Well those last two were certainly boring- I think that the first ones should be the ones mandated LOL!

  • These are not SCUBA cylinders. They are SCBA cylinders used by professional firefighters in Europe. The purpose of the demonstration is to show why FLV's should be made compulsory on all BA valves in the EU.

  • The cylinders were mad...they were hissing. Some of the experiments were up in the air for a few seconds. That cylinder flipped because it was so mad. The experiments were a total gas. They had a certain air about them.

  • it wouldnt be the same as in water either due to the resistance of the see... no doubt it would be tremendously violent, but it would not be as fast.

  • Aah. Brings me back to the days of trying to surf one of these in Halo. XD

  • how hot were the bottles after that ??

  • @lenniih They will be freezing cold because air cools very quickly when escaping from pressure and gets hot when put under pressure. When charging scuba tanks we sometimes put them in water to cool the cylinders.

  • @lenniih It would be cold..not hot.

  • @lenniih cold...

  • Scares the shit out of me every time they bust the valve off

  • lol id have loved 2 have been there when u were doin that :D

  • Most bad ass one was at 1:46

  • get more scuba diving stories on the myscubastory site . Type myscubastory into google and its the first one

  • was the tank very cold when all of the gas expelled ?

  • @roboticmehdi Yes gas gets very cold when it escapes rapidly and very warm when compressed.

  • Actually it's a SCBA tank commonly used in firefighting, but quite similar.

  • you quite crazy but nice experiment :o)

  • you quite crazy but nice experiment :o)

  • 2:30 300 Bar = 4,351 psi! Strap that to a skateboard.... YEE-HAW!!!

  • Newton's Third Law of Motion

According to Newton's third law, for every action force there is an equal (in size) and opposite (in direction) reaction force. Forces always come in pairs - known as "action-reaction force pairs." Identifying and describing action-reaction force pairs is a simple matter of identifying the two interacting objects and making two statements describing who is pushing on whom and in what direction.

  • thats is a heap of shit because when you knock off the valve you loose alot of momentum because your knock off rig moves it should be bolted to the ground

  • So, for all of you who can't read french, german or italian and can't distinguish scuba tanks (nothing to do with scuba tanks here) and breathing apparatus for firefighting (SCBA) :

The tests were made by the Swiss Firefighters Federation after several incidents have occurred during operation or training, with steel or composite tanks. The last one shows a tank with a flow limitation valve. It is easy to understand why these valves are now mandatory for use in Switzerland.

  • Tolle Versuche. Danke

  • This would be a great weapon on a gasoline tanker against pirates.

  • again, again!

  • Tie it to a black guy and see what happens.

  • Imagine if the tank was just over half filled with water plus the air. It would have serious inertia.

  • Imagine what's going to happend to you're head if the first stage got shot out with 300bar preasure :D

  • Anyone for spin the bottle?

  • the second one makes a comeback lol

  • 2:39 a screaming face should have popped up lol

  • 1:22 TOKYO DRIFT

  • thank god i get my tanks tested

  • If you stop putting those full tanks into that apparatus and knocking off the valves, those tanks wont go flying all over like that.

  • Scuba dooba DON'T!!!!

  • Ouch

  • fail at 4:07

  • so you guys get paid to do this?

  • Had a high pressure tall cylinder of argon do this inside a concrete building when I was in the AF - bottle fell, valve snapped off and it impaled the wall - the crack that formed up the cylinder wall of the bottle let the rest of the gas out quick. Otherwise the bottle would have been like a ball in a pinball game. Everyone pretty much crapped their pants but no one was hurt.

  • have to put something at the exit so that you can "guide" it and then put some fins on it.

  • this happens with a 4500 tank at my paintball field i almost shat my self lol

  • I wonder what would happen if you take an empty tank, weld fins on it, then do this trick at 300 bar... Would it fly off like an unguided missile?

  • Kids - don't try this at home! :)

  • if that happens in water ur a torpedo lol

  • @sharkfriend

no because the tank would go backward, but you would be out of air...lol

  • @skriptkidjc then that be a peace of human meat learning how to fly XD

  • @skriptkidjc That tank is strapped to you so it is likely to stay on right? But you were right about the air part, you would be out in kinda of in a pickle unless you have a redundant air supply

  • @ADivingDay Scuba tanks are mounted valves upward right? That, underwater, would mean a concussion or worse, especially if the tank stays stuck to you... which it wouldn't. That tank is what, 30 kg? that acceleration was easily 5g if not more. Meaning the force of the jet hitting the back of your skull would be equivalent to having a sumo step on it.

  • @skriptkidjc

    and pretty deep too

  • @skriptkidjc

Not lookin' like you'd go backwards. If you pay close attention to both the on-suit tests..The tank has the reg pointing at your feet. So his theory would be correct. You just would want to angle up so that you're going towards the surface...and then you propel out like a boss. lol

  • @skriptkidjc wear the tank upside down, then if a shark is trying to eat you, you escape it

  • @skriptkidjc and your ears would explode

  • @skriptkidjc so you're a torpedo that can't see where it's going.

  • @sharkfriend your a Torpedo, LMAO !

  • @sharkfriend If your Aunt had a cock, She'd be your uncle!

  • 1:51 was awesome!

  • this is why oxygen is more dangerous than flammable tanks, because its the least expected of the two

  • @Fender409 This would work the same with a pressurized flammable substance too. It's not the substance itself that causes this, it's the pressure differential

  • 4:06...epic fail...

  • yeah very epic

  • @wagon173 you didn't understand anything, that's the purpose of the last test...

  • put some wings on it, it would be more lulzy:)

  • if you put 1/3 of h2o in that youve just made a rocket that kills

  • LOL! These guys are nuts.

  • stick some stabilising fins on the composite bottle and thats one hell of a rocket

  • my buddys dads on the dive recovery crew at the lake, when their tanks get old he takes em out and shoots em, bang

  • reminds me of the movie gone in 60 seconds when nicholas cage was being chased by the cops around the dock and someone hit an air tank and it shot around like some of these did. also in jumanji at that discount store the scuba tanks on the canoe.

  • reminds me of something from garrysmod, when your thrusters are all bezerk xD

  • these guys work at the factory, where these cylinders are made, looking at ways of making safer by putting reducing valves in the neck .

  • I'm picturing the people setting this up and wondering if any of them were thinking "let's pray that missile doesn't turn around".

  • Awesome, i always wondered what would happen

  • i hope they learnt something from this because its pretty fucking stupid to just be doing cos theres nothing on tv or your dealer is out.

  • strap it to your back under water and go for a ride lol

  • tank insert smaller hole less thrust says it´s self dont need to be a genius to fiqure that out, most likly a goverment test.

  • nice video, try to upload a video from an oxygen tank for acetylene welding the larger one

  • HAHA the last two are FAIL

  • thats not fail, thats save

  • There showing a new safe tank. I think.

That's with my great sence of deduction.

  • WHHY WHYYYY lol by that i mean what was wrong with the tank

  • where was this video made

    ?

  • Switzerland, I guess...

  • @Pirlinetor yes.

  • @FloCp3 Well pardon the crap out of me for not speaking german and not being able to read the text. If divers wouldn't be douche bags and hit their valves on ridiculous crap there would be no need for these types of tests. So again...epic fail :)

  • @wagon173 There's French too. But you can see the pictures, do you ? There's no relation with "scuba divers" here, the tests are made by firefighters for firefighters, that are not "douche bags" ; these incidents occurred many times in operation.

  • Put a tail on it so it flies straighter

  • Dont be a bunch of pussies. Have someone hold onto the tank when you break the head off. That will get you 5 stars!

  • Agreed

  • hey a girl ad have some fun with that fuker lmfao mite scream a bit louder but thats life lol

  • is that even english arbitar222?

  • im yorkshire m8 lol a think tha need s to learn it lol but anyways the answer to that is no lol its slang in yorkshire haha but well noticed

  • looks like a dildo on ecstasy

  • have you ever seen one?

  • oh hell i mean it looks weird ok? -.-

  • Thanks for posting this video -- good reference video as to why you never want to force a valve :) I'm going to respiratory school and we are learning tank safety........

  • such a waste

  • not really the tanks are old and not reusable anymore

  • Should affix some wings to a tank and launch, a scuba mini plane..

  • and a saddle

  • wow, cool, wish I could read the stills as well. Nice someone demonstrates the danger of the SCUBA cylinders.

  • the scuba becomes a jet pack ROFL

  • A ROFL pack????? LOL

  • Rofl 1:47 is the best, haha, awsome!

  • I would have been interesting to measure the drop in temperature at the opening of the tank...due to the J-T effect...

    Carl

  • Weeeeeee...

  • Imagine if that was acetylene and it caught fire.

  • hurm...can u strap that on your back and do that next time :)

  • back in the late 80s i rcovered a bunch of 02 tanks some bored grave shift dudes built an H beam launch platform, put the botts in neck down wacked the neck off and shot them out to sea, we found them pretty damn far out

ballsy dude to whack the neck!

  • (music) "I believe I can fly"

  • I would have made a small delta wing and taped it to the tank, to see if it would fly :)

  • Imagin if that shit hit you in the head

    :\

    ouch?

    lol

  • ohh shit the composite bottle is a better rocket!

  • You guys have to put some wings on it. Then it will not spin like crazy.

  • its like playing half life 2

  • Interesting, actually less dangerous than I expected.

  • I agree. I thought it would have ben much more powerful. Then again it was scuba tanks and not compressed oxygen.

  • In this test oxygen would not have made a difference IMHO.

  • Still, you don't want to be in the path of such tank when it's heading your way. A fractured ankle isn't very funny.

  • Usually my scuba tanks are hanging on my back... If such a thing happens, I am certainly gonna be heading the same way as the tank...

  • That THings Cost A Lot You Are Broken that Money

  • mad!!

    :D

  • mac giver also did it!

  • i diddent do it, it's a test from a firebrigade.

  • Jesus christ you lucky to be alive. Hopefully you were hammered. See you soon on Darwin awards/

  • haha.....going by what you just said...I'm sure you'll beat everyone to Darwin awards.

  • The first and last method of cutting the valve was kinda dangerous. Standing right next to the tank and all. The second method would of been the safest.
