So I wnent to the second one which was an article from jan 2004 which noted Bush's approval rating had fallen to 50% in August of 2001 as well as in November of 2003.

I am comparing obama's current August 11 approval rating of 49% to Bush's mid-August (2001) approval rating, which according to the graph in the Newsaic article (titled "Footnote Fahrenheit: Before 9/11"), was around 53-54%. It wasn't 51% until the end of August, when it was still higher than obama's current rating.
The point is that obama is losing popularity faster than Bush did, and may well end up with the new lowest approval rating in history.
Did you actually look at the lables on that graph? Mid-August 2001 is nowhere near 51%. It is not lower than 53%, in the middle of August. You might want to see your optometrist, or learn how to read a graph.

Perhaps he thought this tactic might unnerve Obama, who is a rather weak debater, and give him an edge. It clearly didn't work, and in fact seemed to backfire on McCain in terms of how millions of viewers saw him as rude and contemptuous.

Bush's approval rating was at 51% in August of 2001, before it received a massive bump thanks to 911 (I can never figure that, rally around the guys whi did not protect us). Although conjecture, it is probably safe to say that he would have been below 49% by the end of September of 2001 were it not for 911

That is incorrect. According even to democrat-provided charts, Bush's approval rating was above 56% all through August 2001, and, once again, did not fall below 50% until May 2004. Double-check your source.

Well, I googled Bush approval rating August , 2001 and the first source I encountered had him at 50% plus ( a little under 51%) at the end of August of 2001.
So I wnent to the second one which was an article from jan 2004 which noted Bush's approval rating had fallen to 50% in August of 2001 as well as in November of 2003.
Shall I keep looking for more sources until I find one that satisfies you?

I see you are claiming they put the rating at 55-56% (or possibly 53%). This is inaccurate. They put it at less than 51%.
Bush, of course, ended up at 22%, the lowest approval rating for an outgoing president ever.

Maybe you're looking at the end of August. I am comparing obama's current August 11 approval rating of 49% to Bush's mid-August (2001) approval rating, which according to the graph in the Newsaic article (titled "Footnote Fahrenheit: Before 9/11"), was around 53-54%. It wasn't 51% until the end of August, when it was still higher than obama's current rating.
The point is that obama is losing popularity faster than Bush did, and may well end up with the new lowest approval rating in history.

Did you actually look at the lables on that graph? Mid-August 2001 is nowhere near 51%. It is not lower than 53%, in the middle of August. You might want to see your optometrist, or learn how to read a graph.
This is to make no mention of the fact that Newsaic is an outlier anyway, the ONLY source that said less than 55%. Even if every source was wrong (including Newsaic) and it was indeed 51% in mid-August (which it wasn't), it would STILL be higher than obama's 49%. Worse than Bush, period.

The last time I checked, 51% is still a majority. The real reason his agenda is faltering is because his White House is allowing Mrs. Pelosi to control the content of legislation. In order to appear as though he is not dictating to Congress, the President is hands-off. The pork to which you refer is just organic Democrat pork. From 1994-2006 the pork smelled like Gingrich. I think John McCain's lack of eye contact with Obama was a half-baked attempt at gamesmanship.
Perhaps he thought this tactic might unnerve Obama, who is a rather weak debater, and give him an edge. It clearly didn't work, and in fact seemed to backfire on McCain in terms of how millions of viewers saw him as rude and contemptuous.
McCain should've taken a look at how Reagan handled himself in televised debates, using wry and and sometimes self-deprecating humor to gain a tactical edge.

The GOP looked at the guest list to said meeting and found the British Ambassador's name on the list and in a desperate attempt to sell PALIN'S foreign affairs credentials said PALIN had HELD TALKS with the Ambassador. He had cancelled the meeting.
